Massachusetts Republicans filed a bill
that would Empower state and local law
enforcement to work with Immigration and
Customs Enforcement right now a law
loophole does not allow Massachusetts
court officials to hold undocumented
individuals deemed dangerous for longer
than they could hold a Massachusetts
resident the bill would allow law
enforcement to hold individuals for up
to 36 hours to allow time for ice to
arrive and take custody of that
individual Governor morah Hy has said in
the past that she does not support Mass
deportation but she does support
deportation of dangerous
criminals president Trump says Federal
immigration agents will continue to move
forward with his deportation plans 22
news reporter Victoria buddy spoke with
a local immigration attorney about
what's at stake for migrants
here know your rights that's the message
from immigration attorneys as federal
agents are moving forward with mass
deportations you should ask to speak to
an attorney if you don't have an
attorney the ice agent has to provide
you with a list we immediately halted
all illegal entry and began sending
every border trespasser and violator
back to the places from which they came
Mass deportations underway following the
president's executive orders with plans
to secure the border and reduce illegal
Crossings however undocumented migrants
now fearing they will be forced to go go
back to their home country if um ice
knocks on your door at home uh you
should not open the door you should ask
them to present a warrant now there's
two types of warrants that people are
getting confused with and I have
actually copies of what one looks like
there's the DHS warrant which is this
it's it's that's from immigration and
then there's a Judicial warrant which
the judicial warrant is the one you want
to see since president Trump took office
last week schools and churches are no
longer deemed protected areas meaning
immigration officials can now conduct
enforcement actions there this one uh
you have to let them in because a judge
has uh allowed DHS or I to have that
entry because there's a that person
already had the process however
according to Trump's borders are
deportations are first targeting
National Security and Public Safety
threats it's unclear if those without
criminal convictions will be deported
