Assalam Walekum and Welcome to Germany for
Student Channel in today's video we will
talk about Student College in Germany
Student College is also called Foundation Course
and in today's video we will focus on
Public Student College, so
first of all let's see
what is Student College Student College is a program of 6 months to 1
year on the basis of which
you can start a Bachelor's degree in Germany.
If you
want to study Bachelor's degree in Germany, then you have to get a student certificate. In
many countries, students are
not eligible for direct admission in Bachelor. School Living
Certificate means that certificate on the
basis of which you
can apply for Bachelor's degree in the university,
which is up to 12th grade in many countries.
So if you have attended any local curriculum
which is of 12 years, then on
its basis you cannot get admission in Bachelor in Germany.
Students of such countries are given an option that
they can come to Germany and do this. Complete a
student college or foundation course of 6 months to 1 year
and after completing that foundation course, one becomes
eligible to apply for a bachelor's degree in Germany.
You can choose a 6-month student college
or you can choose a 1-year student
college program.
In both these ways, the student college or foundation
course will be taught in German language.
You have two options to take a student,
either you
can take a student in a public university
or you
can take a student in a private institute. In today's
video, our focus is on
public student college. So
whatever are the advantages and disadvantages related to public student college, what are the advantages or disadvantages
or where your time can be wasted,
we will see all these things in today's video.
So public student colleges are
associated with a public university. It is also possible that the
university in which you are going to apply has a student
of that university. You should have a
student colleague. If this is not the case then
your university will also be
associated with the student colleague in that state.
If you know that you are
not eligible for direct admission in Germany,
you have to first get a student college. Even then
you have to apply for a bachelor's degree in the university.
You should not
apply directly for the course of the student college.
You will
not send your documents directly to the student college, rather
you will send your documents to the university.
Whatever method the university has
told you, either that method will be
through Uni Assist or it will be directly that
you send your documents directly
to the university. So whatever method the
university tells you, you will follow that and
apply
in the university itself. You cannot apply directly to the student college. The
university will evaluate your documents
and then if the university
determines that you
need a student college first, then the university
itself will now forward your documents
to the student colleague and then the student college. The colleague will
communicate directly with you.
Earlier we have seen that
whether you do student college in a public or private
institute, it will always
be in German language. This means that
before starting student college, you will have to
learn B1 or B2 level of German language.
Now whether B1 or B2 is required in your case,
you will
know from the university website. Some student colleges
accept B1 as well, but mostly they
require a B2 level of German language for students. So, you should
first learn B1 or B2 level of German
language, only then you
can send your application to the university. There are some universities which
themselves conduct German language courses
and they can tell you that if you
want to do a German language course with us, then you
can register yourself in our German language courses,
but mostly this does not happen. TU
Klau is such a university where
you have the option that if you have
not learned German before, then you can take their German
language course. You
can register yourself in the courses of B.Ed and
achieve this level by coming to Germany. In most of the
universities, you have to learn German language
from your home country and
when you have a certificate of B1 or B.Ed level,
then you can apply. When you
apply in a public student league,
you will have to give an entrance exam as well.
If you have learned B1 or B.Ed level of
German language, then the
university will invite you for the entrance exam.
Now this entrance exam is very
important because on the
basis of the performance of the entrance exam, you
get a place in the student league. If the
university has 30 or 40 or 50 seats
and
1000 people have participated in the university entrance exam, out of
which 100 people have passed the exam, then the
top 20, 30, 40 or 50 students will
get a place depending on how many seats the university has and if you are among those
top 20, 30 or 40 students, then you will get a place. If you are among the 40 or 50 students, then only
you will be
able to attend the student college of a public university. The duration of
student college in public universities
or public student college is
6 months or one year.
You can complete student college in 6 months at University of Kaiser Sloat and University of Mines, but
other universities offer a one-year program. Just
like the application for a bachelor's degree happens
twice a year, there are
two intakes in a year, similarly, public
student college also has two intakes in a year.
You can apply in the winter semester
or you can apply in the summer semester.
If you
attend a student college in a public university, then
you do not have any tuition fee in this.
Burden Wootenburg is a state
where you have to pay 1500 euros tuition fee per
semester. If you are an
international student and you want to complete
your student college program in Kantanka,
if you take a
student college in a public university, then
You
can also avail the accommodation of that university. Apart from this,
public students can
also acquire semester tickets. On the
basis of this semester ticket, you can use all types of public transport within the entire state or within a specific area for 6 months
i.e. for one semester on the subsidized
semester ticket.
So this was an overview of student colleges in
public universities.
In the next video, we will talk about private
student colleges and we will see
how it differentiates private students from public student colleges
and what
advantages you will
get there. If you want to do a bachelor's degree in Germany
