美式調酒師工作花式:搖酒廳的基本玩法

Hi, I'm Mo Harris. Today I'm at the Locker Room in Warrington, Virginia.
Today we're going over some basic bartending flair techniques and flair bartending techniques that I like to do behind the bar
that hopefully you're going to be able to do to not only have more fun but also make more money behind the bar.
Next we're going to move on to a couple of basic tin tricks that I like to do.
Tins are great because not only is every bar going to have them, but it's something that you're going to find that you're going to need to use a lot anyways.
Also what's nice about them is they're unbreakable.
So if you drop, the worst thing that happens is you go and you move on.
First we're going to start off with a really, really basic trick called the palm spin.
The palm spin, imagine grabbing this tin like you would just any other cup in the world.
Just grab it regular.
Now you're going to lay it down flat in your hand.
Now what the goal is, is you're almost going to toss it like a frisbee, just almost throwing it out.
The secret is you don't want it to leave your hand.
There's actually no flipping involved.
What's going to happen is once you flick your wrist like this, it's going to spin just like this on the palm of your hand.
So when you do the flick, you're going to have to be careful.
You're going to have to move your thumb out of the way.
So you're going to flick, open up your hand, let that thing spin, and then close your hand, and you're done.
Ready? Here it goes.
It's a basic palm spin.
That's really simple.
Now, once you master that palm spin, something a little trickier, but you'll see once you get it, it's really a simple thing to do,
is two different thumb rolls, okay?
Here's one thumb roll.
I'm going to grab it the same way I grabbed the original one,
except now I'm going to grab it a little higher up, almost at the lip, okay?
And what I'm going to do is I'm going to kind of push it towards me.
I'm going to push it towards me, and again, just like the palm spin, it's not actually going to leave my hand.
There's no flipping.
Hopefully you're going to push it with just enough energy so that I get to about here.
I let go, and the energy is going to allow it to continue right over my thumb,
and I'm going to grab it like that.
Again, it's going to go like this.
Push.
Let go.
There it is, all right?
So let's try it, okay?
That's a forward palm spin.
We're going to do the same thing backwards now.
Just imagine you saw that on tape, and you are.
Just imagine playing it in reverse.
Instead of going from the top of the cup to the bottom, we're going to bring it back down the other way,
and it's going to go from the bottom to the top, all right?
So here's the first one.
Here's the second one.
Up, down.
Palm spin.
Okay.
Next.
What I'm about to show you might not look that impressive right now,
but you'll see combined with some different pouring techniques,
it's going to be amazing.
It really, really is, okay?
All you're going to do is you're going to grab your tin,
just like you would any cup in the world,
and what you're going to do is you're going to toss it to your other hand kind of like this, all right?
Practice this.
Now, I know this is simple.
The reason I want to get you doing that, though,
is to get you in the habit of just allowing something to fall into your hand.
A common mistake that beginning flare bartenders do
is they feel the need to grab things.
You don't need to grab anything.
Literally, you just want this thing to fall right into this hand, okay?
Now, we're going to do the same trick,
only we're going to add one little rotation to it.
So it's going to go like this, ready?
One rotation.
It's not a big deal.
Once you get comfortable with that one rotation, though,
we're going to move on to two rotations,
and this is going to be essential.
Almost all the flare that you're going to be doing
is going to be consisting of this double rotation.
So now instead of going once, we're going to go one, two.
One, two.
Once you do this, and I mean master this,
get it a million times out of a million,
you're going to be able to move on,
do some tricks with the pours, cuts, all kinds of things.
All you have to practice is a palm spin,
thumb roll up, thumb roll down, double rotation.
Next, we're moving on to one-bottle tricks.
