ladies and gentlemen this is Joe's
classic video games back with another
cool jukebox repair video for you this
evening
this is a rock Ola 490 jukebox if you
are if you have a jukebox that you are
attempting to repair
and it is a 490 it will probably uh or a
490
94 I believe is the same
uh this video should be helpful to you
if you're having power supply problems
so we're going to look at that now we
had a customer bring this to us we don't
actually do a lot of jukebox repairs for
customers we mainly do them on boxes
that we own we have a whole bunch of
them you see an old am I over there
peeking at you
um because we're not super great Adam
but we're getting better at them so
these Rock Olas we've felt Comfort
comfortable enough uh We've fixed enough
of them now that we're willing to do a
few repairs on them so we've been
working on a few customers
so this particular one apparently uh
presented a power supply problem but I I
think it's a red herring I think maybe
something else is going on we're going
to find out so we'll show you what it's
doing and then we'll uh we'll diagnose
it and then hopefully fix it
but I don't know because it's not fixed
yet
because I understand
things heavy as I understand it
he was having a problem where one of
these lights wasn't coming on on the
power supply
and so he bought another power supply he
put it in and same thing or maybe two of
them weren't coming on or something like
that so he's got power supply problems
um my theory is I'll just go ahead and
say right here at the beginning this
board up here I have seen some
capacitors on the mpu
that are tantalum short the voltages
together so that this will not uh
properly
um
so well just it shorts out the power
supply it doesn't permanently damage it
it just uh it won't work while it's
turned on so we're going to plug it in
see what the thing does and then see if
we can fix it it's a nice pretty clean
looking little box looks complete
it's got all of its goodies so uh let me
plug it in and we'll go from there
all right so the turntable is spinning
it's as if there's a record down as you
can see
um
and yeah there are two voltages missing
the 24 AC and the 26 DC
now sometimes those LEDs are just burned
out so it could be something like that
the first thing I'm going to try is
if the bow is down really the
it's about halfway through its cycle so
that's definitely got some issues
um
so I'm going to turn it off just as a
diagnostic tool
unplug the mpu and then turn it back on
and see if we get one of those lights
back
so let's try that right here on camera
if I can find the power switch
you know where the power switch is folks
it's on the power supply
you think I would have known it's on the
Sun
oh it's not all the way in there that's
right
okay
so
we're just going to disconnect the mpu
so it is no longer plugged in it does
still have this going on but that
actually provides power to the display
now we're going to turn it back on
see if we get something different
boy it's healthy Joe
it pops
well that didn't work like we wanted it
it's still not doing it okay so here's
what we're going to do we're going to
pull this power supply out and put the
original one back in
so we can kind of go back to where we
were
and try to fix that one and then we'll
analyze this one too right he's got it
just popped in with the cord coming out
the front because he just swapped it
into uh to test it out
all right folks we're mounting the
original one back in this is the one
that was just in there
took the wing nut off the door and
unplugged the LED board
and so if you look inside you've got a
fuse you've got a lot of plugs and a lot
of wiring and of course the main thing
in the power supply is this big huge
Transformer usually don't have trouble
with these hopefully we won't
um
there's a couple voltage Regulators on
the side and then you have this little
power board here now if you look there
is a transistor right in the middle of
the board that's burnt slap up so
something happened there
almost looks like maybe it's just a
diode no it's a transistor
I mean it looked like a transistor but I
could only see two legs there's three
legs
and it has these old capacitors
vintage never been touched
okay
of course we can check the fuses
but as you saw there's two voltages
missing so
maybe we'll rebuild this one and the
other one
but let's check and see what the other
one does first
all right folks we've got the other one
mounted in let's plug her up Joe see
what happens
foreign
the diode board the LED board is missing
on that one
yeah they've definitely been in there
messing around Joe they've been messing
around it's broke why would they do that
you think that's what's wrong with it
well if it's broke they ain't got much
to lose all right we're gonna turn it
off and take that uh that door cover off
let's see inside of it
all right the LED board was actually in
there it just wasn't still secured to
the uh
to the front board there so we'll try to
turn it back on you can see the
board here
may have had uh at least one capacitor
replaced at some point
and it doesn't have the transistor blown
up like the other one does it's had some
fuses replaced it looks like
Transformer looks fine
looks about in the same shape as the
other one a lot of times I'll open these
up and they'll be this thing will be
burnt out of heck I've done some videos
where we had to rebuild them
okay so we'll plug it back up and see if
so we can get an eye on those uh four
LEDs
all right so that's more like it yeah so
that's exactly like we thought so this
one has three LEDs going and one not
going however my theory that it was the
board appears to be wrong but that
didn't do anything
so we can throw that one right out the
window
okay uh so it's 26 volts DC on both is
missing but on one also
this first
ac voltage is missing
hmm let me try turning it off and
unplugging some more stuff and just make
sure that it's not a short that's
causing it and that it actually is a
problem inside the power supply
all right so I unplugged the power to
the amp I unplugged the power to the
mech board
the turntable is still turning because
it it gets its power basically just
straight from the power supply
and the mpu is unplugged so basically
everything that it runs to is unplugged
so I think the problem actually will be
in the power supply so
I guess we'll start on this one that
we've already got out first
and we'll see if we can fix both of them
all right so we're going to do this one
first by taking this board out so we're
gonna
unplug all these
now there is a green and white and a
green and white
and then a blue and yellow blue and red
a black and a blue
easy peasy you'll remember that right
Joe yeah red and purple
no it's green and white green and white
blue and yellow blue and red black and
then a blue yeah you'll remember that
right yeah green and blue
no it was green and white green and
white and then blue and yellow blue and
red then there's a black and then a blue
oh okay I got it now you'll remember
that right I got it okay
all right so I was able to pop it out
I'm replacing this capacitor for sure
I'm starting to just carry these in
stock because we this thing just keeps
every one of them we get this thing's
messed up on so 2200
microfarad 63 volt and you see the date
code there the 30th week of 1985 so this
thing's approaching 40 years old so it's
starting to finally
puke out its guts
so it's time to get a new one in there
this side looks good
so we got that in there and uh we're
gonna have to look on the schematics and
see what this
does
I think it's an MPS a06 I believe let's
see if we can zoom in on it this camera
can see better than my eyes can
here we go we're going in
MPS
a06 all right well cool
Q2 so we got to figure out why that is
and then we got to check diodes and
fuses and all of that
okay so I'm just looking at stuff uh on
the back just seeing if I see anything
interesting they've modded the
they put a diode in place here by
cutting the trace and just putting a
diode on it a lot of times when you see
stuff like that it's actually a factory
mod on these jukeboxes everything looks
cool there it doesn't look like
anything's messed up so with that said
look at this
that connector there
pretty bad
okay now look at the one below it
also pretty bad
okay so that one
a lot of times when you've got one burnt
like that it's just because there's AC
going through it
so it's this fuse here
which it looks like also jumps over to
here but if you look that's one of those
posts that we had as a matter of fact
that's the one that was blue
so we're just figuring this out
it was a three amp slow blow fuse
okay
so maybe we'll see what in the world
that is
and when it jumps over to there
also goes through that one
which is a quarter amp
so I'm just looking and trying to see
you know what have we got going on
all right so I'm gonna clean that up
and re-solder those
um
look the bottom one's the same see the
crack around it
the other nine looked pretty good but
we'll resolder them while we're at it
so whenever I've got one like that
that's pretty rough what I do is I take
a wire brush and just scrape the crap
out of it to get a lot of that trash off
of there and then solder it you get a
much better connection
so we'll do that and uh next up we're
going to look at the schematics okay
folks so here's the schematics now keep
in mind we haven't even checked any
voltages yet we're just
trying to get our head wrapped around
some of it so if you look over here you
can kind of work backwards or do it
however you want
um
this says L4 so it's the fourth lamp the
LED
and that's the 5.7 volts so remember
that one was on
okay so the stuff backwards of that is
kind of working or
you know the voltage could be off and
the LED still working but it's probably
pretty close it's at least there and two
of them are missing so the 4700
microfarad capacitor is on that line so
that is
this one
which still looks pretty good we haven't
tested it or anything
there's a section here
that is involved with turning on the
turntable that's how the switch to 120
volts comes on so this is turned on and
it's just got the turntable running the
whole time
all right so that is uh
we don't know that that's working but
that's what's going on I mean it's
obviously the 120 is on but maybe it
should be off we don't know if it's
turning on and off like it should this
is an opto coupler here
which means it's it's basically just a
way for them to control a 120 volt line
with the regular I guess they're doing
it with
1.2 volts or something I can't remember
I think it's 12 volts that comes on this
run line something like that
okay so uh that's that so we're getting
down here lamp two was also working so
lamp four was working lamp two was
working
which is the negative 28. so the
negative and 28 comes from over here
all of this
and you see the other major capacitors a
220 microfarad 100 volt that's
this one
similar to this one so the reason I'm
even mentioning these is because I've
worked on a whole bunch of these and
these two are usually fine it's always
this one it's just a different type of
capacitor you saw they used a different
model basically
okay so if we move down
foreign
we have Q2 that's the one that was blown
slap in half
now the whole thing with doing repairs
like this
the problem is probably not the a06 why
would it fail so because
catastrophically
like it just blew in half why would it
do that it's not just going to fail that
way
something made it do that
okay well if you look
the voltage that supplies it comes from
here 2200 microfarad I mean 2200
microfarad 63 volt capacitor
so one side's tied to the center tap of
the Transformer on this winding and then
the other side comes through the diodes
blah blah blah blah
so it could be that cap
I don't know
hmm I'm not so sure well if that's
shorted
it would just short this to ground you
would think I don't know we'll have to
look at this cr11 this diode here too
and some of the other stuff but if you
look that transistor that was blown
apart and keep in mind this is on the
one that was a replacement power supply
that he bought on eBay or something
okay the line comes through here and it
directly lights up
diode L3 or LED L3
all right so that's why that one's all
that transistor is blown out of crap
well that's also going to screw up these
voltages blah blah
this is the ground
to this led
um
so this is 24 volts ac
run it through this diode and now it's
going to be rectified
um
and this is going to be ground but that
would have been 26 which would pull this
up and make the LED work is that what
was going on
so as it just felt in a way that wiped
out the L1 LED's ability to light up
I think we'll replace this capacitor
it's 2.2
microfarad
at C1
uh and uh we've already replaced that
capacitor
I replaced the mpsa06 we'll check some
other diodes and stuff
and then we'll see if that gets us L1
and L3 back the good thing about working
on these particular power supplies is
you don't need the Jukebox
it's got the power cord hanging out the
back of it we can just plug it into the
wall and see what voltages we get
good news people
we got this 24 volt AC one back
but this one's still missing which is
the 26 volt so the way they make the 26
volt is very simple
follow it back it comes from that Q2
that we were looking at
that we replaced the one that was split
in half
so we swapped this cap remember it was
leaking
I tested this with a diode test on the
meter and it works fine
or it tests fine
and then we have this
ao6 that's new
okay well if you check here you do not
have your 28 volt it's 28 volts coming
out
and lights that up
I don't know why they call it I guess
because since it runs through the diode
now it's 26.
uh
28 volts so they have a 27 volt
um
zener diode there
one in 5254.
and we have this resistor here so if I
check voltage from here to here I've got
45 volts
bam if I check voltage from here to here
I have one volt and from here to here I
have one volt
so I think that zener diodes messed up
I think
I've got well I don't know I've got 45
here
resistor there maybe this resistor is
burned up so I need to check both of
those R7 should be 10K and then I need
to swap the one in 5254.
all right so I replaced the diode with
it's a 27 volt half watt diode I
replaced it with a 1n 4750 which is a 27
volt one watt diode
zener diet we still don't have our light
on though and if I check my so I've got
my 26 though that I'm supposed to have
now and if I check up here
one side of the LED has 26.
huh what do you think
and the other side
zero so if I check the one next to it
it's got
negative 26 and then the other side of
the diet the LED has negative 27. so is
my LED bad
so this one has six on one side of the
LED
and four on the other side of the LED
I think the LED might be there that's
just saying let's look at the schematics
again
I mean I guess I'm reading this right so
this is ground
here Center tap
the voltage is up here they use the
zener diode
and this transistor here to send out 28
through here okay up here is 45.
now this is a whole other thing we'll
get into here in a minute
but here's your ground
right
at your ground
okay and
they have a 2.2 K resistor
between ground
and that led
and on the other side of that led is 26
they are running the 28 volts right
through the LED dropping it with the LED
and then running it out I don't know
what that's used for but you wouldn't
think you'd run it all through a LED but
kind of it's kind of how it looks let me
see what they use it for
so it kind of looks like the 26 which
goes down to 25 is used
but for this one prom on the mpu
27.58
or whatever so I guess you need it
I've got all these LEDs but I don't have
one that's the right size
they're all either too small or too big
and you know this is America
we go too big
hahaha
so I guess they just run the voltage
right through the damn LED on that
particular one because it's only going
to one line on the um
on the mpu so
there you go
all right so that's not all though that
this does there is uh there are two
other functions that it has we need to
see if it's outputting to turn on the um
the record player the turntable and then
we also need to see if it's outputting
the switched 26 volts completely
different thing
so we'll do that next
okay so there is this run line that
comes from the mpu
okay and it's normally I think at 12.
because
this is 12 up here
so if this is at 12 this is turned off
but if this goes to ground if the
computer makes this a ground
right well then it starts flowing
through here and it turns it on which
turns on the 120 to turn on the uh
the turntable
so we need to see if that can turn on
and off by changing this line from
ground to 12.
okay now at the same time it goes
through this resistor here
1K R2
and
I don't know exactly how it works let's
see here that's 45 on one side of the
um
coil there
I don't know how going from ground to oh
no the coils here
it's not all the way well no it's
connected there
hmm
so it has 45 at one side and it would
have
12 or ground at the other side I don't
know how that would turn it on just
changing it from ground to 12.
hmm
anyway
that coil pulls in
and it moves this
ground
that's shorted to this line through the
relay
basically this output is zero
if it's shorted to ground if the relay
pulls in it pulls it over here and it
allows this diode to allow that to rise
up to 24 blah blah blah
right so you've got 45 in and then 24
and it gives you I guess 26 out
um but when it's shorted to ground
it's basically killing the output
that's just how they designed it okay so
I'm figuring it out a little better I
think so the 45 volts here is where all
the power comes from in this little
circuit so it would be at 45 volts on
one side of the coil and then it runs
through the coil and on the other side
of the coil it would probably still be
at 45 volts because the coil is just a
really long wire it might be 44 volts or
something so you've got that here
but then it runs through this resistor
which is going to drop it I don't know
how much it may drop it all the way down
to like 12 volts
something like that
it just I guess it depends on the
current or something so over here though
if you're above 12 volts
this is tied to 12 or I guess lower
is it 1.2 I don't know
if you're above 1.2 though
then voltage is not going to flow
through that opto coupler so it's not
going to do anything
I believe that's how it's working right
so at this the potential here will be
whatever is left of the 45 that's what
will be here okay but then the CPU
grounds it so now it's ground so
everything works differently so you've
got ground here and maybe 1.2 here which
would turn this on you've got ground
here
pulling power through the resistor
from this 45 right so you've grounded
one side of your coil and you've got 45
volts on the other side of the coil
click
so it's something like that I just don't
know the actual numbers but you know
what we can measure them
okay so if I check pin one and pin two
of this uh opto coupler
I've got
15 volts on pin one
and then pin two
pretty much the same
but if I check over here on R3
I've got
49 volts instead of 45 but that's just
because of how it's running and then on
the other side of R3
ISO 49 volts so I don't unders I thought
that was tied to pin two hmm
so this has been modded there's the
second resistor added around it but
so I guess that's 500k I mean 500 ohm
instead of 1K but it should be connected
right to pin two but I've got 14 volts
here
and I've got 14 volts here
hmm
and I've got 49 volts here and 49 volts
here how do I have 14 here and 49 there
hmm
okay so here's our resistor
that we're looking at the 1K resistor
that they modded made it maybe 500. and
it runs up here
and that's the line that they put that
diode on which means
the 45 volts can't get to the opto
coupler
[Music]
um
which may mean that the optocoupler is
always on and the turntable is always
moving which is kind of how we saw it it
was running Non-Stop
so we may have to get rid of this and
put it back to the way it originally was
but for I guess they don't want that 45
volts going over to the opto coupler I
don't know so if that's a mod that
rockola did everything's fine but if
it's something an operator did and they
didn't care that the turntable was
running constantly that would be a
problem
so let's see if we can basically I'm
going to put a ground on that resistor
and ground it out and um
see what happens see if the
um that's what the board's going to do
you know and see if it turns off the
turntable or turns on the turntable or
vice versa
so that's the turntable power 125 volts
and I've got it grounded now listen when
you take a solution you'll hear that
relay click
so the relay turned off
but the the opto coupler didn't
so it's on uh constantly because of the
way they've modded the board that
that's not a good idea you don't want
the damn turntable just turning
constantly
come on people come come on now you
don't want
people you don't want the turntable on
constantly come on now that's not smart
don't do that
don't do mods people mods are bad bad
the turntable voltage going out right
now is 124 volts now this is the
switched voltage not the 120 volts
that's uh just uh
always doing its thing
okay now if I take
one of the leads
and put it on the gate
of the opto coupler
well not the gate but the
basically the second side of the opto
coupler
I'm seeing like 14 volts
okay
now
if I ground the run signal like the the
computer is turning on the turntable if
you listen you'll hear a click it's the
relay turning on here
okay so that was the relay turning on so
now if I check that same opto coupler
I've got 124 volts on the second side of
the optocoupler so it's actually working
correct I don't know if I don't know
about the 15 volts
whenever it's off but
um
I'm wondering if these old diodes are
leaking and that's my problem
this is a thyristor not a thyroid
thyristor
is that right
it's not an scr it's the one that goes
both ways
Once you turn those on to where they
conduct uh with you know the gate pin
which is what that
well you know 15 volts though would
probably turn it on hmm
those diodes might be a problem anyway
Once you turn that thing on you can't
really turn it off until the current
gets low so I don't know having it out
of the cabinet with no load on it it
might just keep running and running and
running the switched
120.
I don't know so but we're going to try
it put it in the machine now the other
one is this relay
you saw how on the schematics that relay
when it's normally closed it's grounding
out the input to the lm317
well the lm317 was bad so I swapped it
so when you ground this relay
or turn on this relay when you turn on
that relay with that run line
it throws the switch inside of it right
the contacts and it removes the ground
from the input to the scr
um
so I'll just show you that basically it
allows this
diode here which is a 20
I think a 27 volt diode actually
to go high but right now it's grounded
so we have no we're not AC though yeah
DC we have no voltage coming
out of that diode at the moment
because uh it's grounded through the
relay
now if I ground the relay
you'll hear click on
so I just basically grounded that run
line as if the computer was doing it
click
the relay transfers
this is not working oh that's because
I'm still hooked up over here come on
now that won't work people it's hard to
do this with one hand
you'd think I'd start using my tripod
but to heck with that
there's our 24 volts
so our switched voltage is there it's
actually higher once it gets past that
or is it am I grabbing the right one
come on
if I don't blow something up
23 volts so that's it says they call it
switch 26 or something like that but
it doesn't have to be perfect it's to
turn on Motors and stuff
so in other words that's working I just
don't know if the turntable is going to
turn itself off whenever it hangs up the
record
um there may be a way that the other
side is doing that although that
turntable is directly connected to this
but
I don't know I don't completely
understand that circuit but we're gonna
go try it so all of our voltages are
back I'm gonna try putting it in the
machine and seeing if it can turn
anything on
all right so as soon as I turned it on
the 26 volt light went out
um now remember that's the one that we
were saying
well I'm not sure what I don't I don't
know maybe uh yeah the voltage runs
through that led
and then runs a prom on the mpu right it
immediately blew out probably blew a
fuse inside the thing however
the thing's working fine like that so I
don't know what the hell that is
a little Hank Jr for you it's got a
bunch of song selected already it looks
like
look it's working perfect
so I think next up maybe we figure out
what that uh
we open up the mpu and see what that 26
volt is used for
a little David Allen Cove the hits just
keep on coming people
you never even call me by my name that's
considered the greatest country song of
all time just ask David Allan Coe
he didn't ride it by the way
okay so it went to home plate
home position
let's see if we can get it to play
something
do we have any credits oh they didn't
put it on free play
I can put it on free play
well we'll just add a credit
how is there a dog outside we're
downtown
what in the world
hmm
keyboard doesn't work
it's one of the things whenever people
bring you
machines
and say oh it's just the power supply
huh
necessarily
credit anything
foreign
doesn't work hmm
that's fun
there's a way to make it just play
[Music]
there's a way to make it just play yeah
non-stop test I think might do it but
well hmm
I guess we need to see what that 26
volts does that could have something to
do with the keyboard
all right so you are looking at the
backboard of the mpu
mpu the backboard yeah mpu
let me move stuff around so you can see
it
ah how's that
so why are y'all moving
I know this video is getting long but
come on
see these These are
tantalum caps
they're very accurate but they're very
old ones are prone to
developing into a dead short
so they put these across the uh as a way
to uh
filter the
various voltages going on the board so
you see that one well you can't see
again
why'd y'all move
so you see that one has
3.4 Megs resistance across it
right
this one
point one is shorted
so that cap is shorted now what did I
say at the very beginning of the video
and y'all laughed and laughed and
laughed that I was wrong but guess what
people
I wasn't wrong
I wasn't wrong people
so that cap is shorted and because it's
shorted it's immediately killing the 26
volts
which
again we don't know what it even what
the 26 volts even does so I'm going to
take the board apart and I'm what we're
going to do is we're just going to track
down the trace and see where it goes
and what it runs to
because the thing appeared to be working
without it
think about that it's so important that
they put its own little LED
on the power supply when they didn't put
an LED for the switched 26 volts or
whatever
um which is used to run the mechanism
and everything
well it's working you saw the mech
running right but this 26
blue was completely gone and the thing
was still working so
wait we kind of need to figure out what
that goes to but I think we've about got
it so let me disassemble this board and
uh we'll see what what the 26 actually
does
all right so I went through and I
replaced there were four of those uh
type capacitors on this board
and I traced the voltage remember we
looked on the schematics I traced the
voltage it doesn't do anything on this
board all it does is come over here
through this choke or whatever it is
right and goes off the board
which is what the schematics told us and
then it comes in over here and it goes
through it's the craziest thing
this video is longer I'd show you but it
jumps around like 30 different times
through the board and then back down
doesn't hit anything
uh and then finally
apparently goes to one pin on this prom
that they never even used so it's just a
completely wasted circuit
so if you're 26 volt light is out on one
of these it doesn't even matter
we just got lucky that
um the the one that shorted was the 26
volts instead of the one that does like
uh I think the 5.7 volts or whatever the
one of the the voltages that matters but
that that it's just for this 2758
which wasn't even used in these
so I don't know so I'm going to replace
a couple more of them and then I'm going
to put a remote battery on it to get rid
of this
a battery that they've got in here
because it's starting to leak
a little bit
um
and then uh
we'll figure out what's going on with
the
with the selection buttons I guess some
other way it could just be that the
connector is dirty
all right folks so
put it back in and turned it on and
guess what the 26 volt light was still
off
so I went back into the power supply and
guess what the LED had burned up again
and the uh
q06 had burned up
that I mean IQ whatever it was the MPS
a06 so
if that cap is shorted on your mpu it's
going to fry that line including the LED
so if you get one of these boxes in the
26 volt won't light up to save your life
the LEDs probably burn out and they
actually ran the power right through the
LED
so with that said
do it upside down here let's test let's
see if it'll play one
one I clean the
connector on the
40
8.
I also noticed that the turntable wasn't
spinning you can't test that opto
coupler outside of the machine it just
doesn't work like that
for whatever reason I guess the opto
couplers give
leaky or well I don't know I think they
need the load on it to turn its turn the
uh thyristor off I believe
that's a work in jukebox people
what song is this is it worth listening
to
oh hell yeah
just a second people I can't I can't
um
I can't uh uh spoil you
may wait till it gets to the good part
[Music]
that's better
all right enough Shania Twain uh we got
another viewer mail in our buddy Scott
from Haltom City Texas
Melvis this this is our address if you
want to send us a correspondence
viewer mail you know
check out what Scott sent us
he already did this once before too
you're a good man Scott
foreign
a box of Records
because he knows that we're always
putting in our jukeboxes so when we sell
a jukebox we fill it up with records and
uh that way we sell it it's ready to go
it's full and you can take out the ones
you don't like and put yours in there a
lot of people don't do that
a lot of people when they sell the
Jukebox it's empty but when we sell the
Jukebox it's full
so we're gonna this is the customers
we're fixing but uh the next one we work
on of course will fill up okay so let's
see what he sent us
do you think there will be anything good
in here
I'll bet there'll be at least a couple
Donny Osmond
life is just what you make it I don't
know that
and by the way I do know most old songs
I just don't know that one
Bernardine Bernardine by Pat Boone I
like Bernadette by the uh
Four Tops love letters in the sand but
it has a big song a little before my
time but it's a big thing
song I know that I know the song I could
sing it if I wanted to
why baby why by Pat Boone
if you don't know about Pat Boone he
didn't and Pat moon is still with us by
the way
I have nothing wrong or against Pat
Boone he's made a lot of money in his
life but he was kind of and I don't
think he would mind anybody saying this
as if he would ever see this video but
he was kind of like the safe all the
safe version of a lot of these songs you
know
so why baby why I think it was a George
Jones song
I might have the wrong song
and I'm waiting just for you that might
not be the one
Jan and Dean Jeanette get your hair done
this is gonna have a good one on the
other side because that's a B-side I'll
bet
this is going to be the one
yeah
Jan and Dean baby talk so
you know when Jan and Dean started
there's only two of them and their whole
gimmick was they were a doo-wop band but
there was only two of them everybody
knows them from Surf City and stuff but
baby talks awesome
Fats Domino we have discovered before
any Fats Domino record sounds good in a
jukebox Valley of Tears and
it's you I love I'll bet you know Fats
Domino they say he was the first guy to
do a rock and roll song he had a song
called the fat man they say that's the
first rock and roll song
he was the man
Frank Sinatra Chicago that's a cool song
Frank Sinatra all the way wow look at
that that's a double-sided hit right
there
all the way in Chicago by Frank Sinatra
that's a good one
I'm not gonna give that away in one of
my two boxes I might take that one home
Pat Boone I almost lost my mind
and
I'm in love with you I believe Scott
said these were his fathers I believe he
said that I may have that wrong
he sent us a bunch before
Pat Boone chains of love that was on the
uh first Beatles album
no
it was not chains was on the first
Beatles album chains of Love is probably
a different song
Friendly Persuasion
original soundtrack from the Allied
picture Friendly Persuasion okay well
there's a bunch of them in here look he
even individually wrapped the ball for
us
lonesome for a letter Sanford Clark
Sanford Clark
didn't they have a the Sanford Clark
band or something like that
the fool
I don't know if I know that one or not
some old ones in here this is like this
is all 50s stuff isn't it
yeah the fleetwoods you mean everything
to me and it's gonna have something big
on the other side I'll bet
yep Mr Blue
well that's cool that was like early
that was just before rock and roll
really that's probably mid 50s
isn't it I don't know if that's the
original
label everybody likes Mr Blue don't they
Marty Robbins uh heck yeah
they don't ever put dates on them The
Story of My Life I'll bet the other
side's got something cool on it
once a week date that sounds like
something I'd like but I'll bet uh I
don't know that one
but he was doing it with Ray conniff and
his orchestra so maybe that was a little
later in his career but it's still it
looks like 50s to me
so this is probably Deca that's probably
the 60s nope 70s 1972.
Rick Nelson and the Stone Canyon van
Garden Party the only thing about Rick
Nelson
he's one of them guys that that dropped
the the Ricky you know you know what's
wrong with being called Ricky
well I guess he was Rick at the
beginning too wasn't he
a lot of people still call me Ronnie I
don't mind
and so long mama okay garden party
that's a cool one I don't know the other
one
Andy Williams stopped teasing me
do we have a Moon River here
I like your kind of love
that guy knew how to make money he made
money for decades
Johnny Ray just walking in the rain
and
in the candlelight
with Ray conniff in his orchestra again
wasn't that who Marty Robbins was using
maybe the person who owned these was a
big Ray conniff fan
another really old Columbia record
Doris Day I've got to sing away these
Blues she says
whatever will be will be also known as
Que Sera Sera that was a huge hit wasn't
it
it's another one I know
Waikiki records
Christmas Time Is Here
check kapman Chapman
I've never heard of check Chapman Fly Me
Out to the barren Moon don't know that
one
I know Christmas Time's A coming and the
Bluegrass song
Guy Mitchell with Ray conniff in his
orchestra again crazy with love and
singing the blues that's isn't that I
never found more like singing the blues
I think that's how
I gave my love from the Disneyland TV
production of Davy Crockett I gave my
love well I know what's got to be on the
other side
The Ballad of Davy Crockett boy that was
a cool song
I like The Kentucky HeadHunters version
Glow Worm by Johnny Maddox
and chicken reel okay
Gogi Grant Goji Grant the Wayward win
that was a huge song Too wasn't it
big hit
and no more than forever
what are some good stuff in here it's
kind of easy listening stuff
there's a couple in here let's see here
oh yeah I think he told me about these
Bozo at the circus pinto kovig and cast
and then the other side is
bozoweth circus
I don't know what that is that's some
kind of
there's something else going on with
that that's that might not be a
that might not be a song I Don't Know
this is RCA Victor
Happy New Year
I don't know who the artist is
I think our LEDs
are fading out here in the back room
and my two all my two front teeth on the
other side
somebody
and the City Slickers okay that might be
all I want for Christmas is my two front
teeth
Deca Mother Goose songs and
[Music]
Mother Goose songs okay
we're getting out of the dredges people
the miracle of Christmas by little Rita
Faye
and
I fell out of a Christmas tree
all right
Bing Crosby Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer
um
well there you go isn't that the one
that that
popularized the song I Believe before
that Rudolph did not exist am I correct
on that
because you know he names all the
reindeer in the song I think it even
changed how many reindeer there are on
that song
the Teddy Bears Picnic I think I've
heard that too haven't I
we're down to the last one folks here we
go what have we left there are two
records in this one as well it looks
like they must be a set
Little Black part one two three
and four I'll bet As Told by Paul wing
musical Background by Norman Laden voice
of Nipper Frank Milano Orchestra
conducted by Henry Renee wow okay
[Music]
yeah I guess there's four parts to it
okay I might have to play that on a
video
well thank you Scott we appreciate it we
will do something with them some of them
will put in jukeboxes some of them we
may make videos where we talk about it
or something
I've got a bunch of record players at
the house I need to fix too I counted
the other day I think I have 17 record
players
that's just ridic I've got to stop
buying records what am I I've got to
stop buying record players but I need to
sell some right I might have to sell
some record players
I don't know folks if you don't like
Shania Twain you need to reevaluate your
priorities in life
okay so it went back home turntable
stopped
that's a work in jukebox people uh the
guy just wanted us to fix the power
supply and you know what
he was correct it really was just the
power supply there was something on the
mpu board but he didn't have any way of
knowing that that was shorting out the
power supply and the one that it was
shorting out didn't really matter anyway
so he almost had it working
so there you go so leave your comments
down below let us know what you think
