8 Second Import/Domestic Battle on No Prep! 1,200whp GT-R vs ‘67 Big Block Drag Camaro

So what type of power does it make now? 1,200 all-wheel. Sharon's a damn liar. Welcome back. This versus that. It's our drag racing show where we drag race this versus that. Got it. Darren Parsons here. This is my 67 Camaro project. My dad and I built this from when I was a kid. So this is a 67, right? Yes, sir. Door slammer. So it's still got... Is that steel door or fiberglass door? No, it's all fiberglass. Fiberglass, fiberglass, fiberglass. This is steel. The quarters are still steel. The roof is steel. Other than that though. Other than that, it's original. Other than the two panels. Yeah. It has a car right here. What year did you build this in? This is a 90s era build. So when I was a kid, this is what we worked on. I rode my bike to my dad's automotive shop every day, and this is what we worked on from four o'clock on. It was probably finished in, I would say, mid-90s, 96, 97. And what's the fastest you've been in it? The fastest I've been in this car is 860. Same setup? No, different setup, different engine at that point. The big boy engine that was in this got moved on to greater cars. So this is kind of our leftovers. Wait, this is a scrap. So we can't pop this off, right? I mean, you could, but there ain't nothing to see under there. All right. Tell us what's under this thing. There's eight cylinders that go poop to poo. One of those carburetor things, right? Yeah, it's like one of those fuel funnels on the top of it where you squeeze it and it goes faster. What's in it? Come on. Don't drag race guy us. What's in this thing? It's a 540 big block Chevrolet. Nothing crazy. What compression? A 16.5 to 1. Nothing crazy. 16.5 to 1. Hey, just because it has lots of pews in the cylinder doesn't mean it's going to translate well. What trans? Glide? Glide. Is that a 32-inch tall tire? 32, 14.5 W. This is the only two wheel drive car that we could really put up against what's coming next. Right. The car that has AC, auto windows. I have a question though. How much does this car weigh? What's up, Brooke? What's going on? What did you bring for us today? I brought the Alpha Princess out, my R35 Nissan GTR, my drag car. It's a stock turbo record holder. We do a ton of drag races all around the country. It's just so much fun. We've learned so much. Does it still have stock turbos? It has stock cover turbos, so it's stock cover Garrett G-Series internals. What type of power does it make now? About 1,200 all-wheel. Stock frame turbos. 1,200 wheel. Can we take a look? Yeah, absolutely. Ooh, okay. This is a 4.3 liter twin turbo V6. What are these? These are 3.8 normally, right? Yep, that's correct. It's a 4.3. This is our first time no prep racing. We usually are always on the track. Your chrome wrap is reflecting. You might have a sunburn. I feel like it's going to set my face on fire if I don't move. So, built motor, stroker, stock. This one's got four cams. I only got one. This one also has two turbos. You have how many? I have zero. But she doesn't have a carburetor, though. You got her. Speaking of fuel, what do you run on this? Stock ECU? This is Cyvex ECU. Okay. On E85? Yep, we're on E85 right now. We've had it on meth before, but it's just cool to be able to fill it up at the gas station with- Do you street drive? Do you street drive this thing? Definitely can. Yep. It's registered and insured. Definitely can. Yeah, you caught that. That was not really smooth. I like that. If you want to come take a look to the interior, I will show you why I don't usually street it. Does it still have air conditioning, heat, and all that? It has heat. I took out the air conditioning. It has a 850 cert cage so that we are in compliance with all the safety standards. So, I wouldn't really recommend driving it too much with a helmet on on the street. Pretty much stock interior, except for, obviously, we added the cage, took the headliner out to fit the cage in, and then we took the passenger seat out. I can go lower. I got to get out right now. I had to compromise. I got it. No. Keeping it safe, but also- But it still has cards in it. That's correct. That's right. Sure. All wheel drive, twin turbo. Seems like a lot of weight. It is. How much does it weigh? This weighs 3,900 pounds. Right now, it's probably like 3,750, 3,800 just because I don't have that passenger seat in. Okay. What size tire do you run in the rear? Typically, we would run a 17-inch beadlock with slicks, but I wasn't really sure with the no-prep thing. I didn't know. I've never done it before. So, I was like, okay, kind of like a street, maybe I should put a drag radial on it. I was wrong, but we live and we learn. Yeah. I have a potentially dumb question because I see this all the time. I don't know the answer. I always see R35s. They're running like a wider rear tire with beadlocks and then kind of like a lesser front tire. Why is that? Is most of the power going to the rear wheels or? Yeah. So, it's about like 70-30. Oh, it's that? I didn't realize the bias was that crazy. Does it have traction control? It does. Wow. You got one? It's this right here. You got one too. It's your foot. What do you guys want to do for a race? Generally, what we do first is 1,000 foot from a dig, but we got 500 feet, we got 1,000 feet, and then if you want Darren to literally jump over that hillside because he can't stop, we go to 1,500.
