Choctawhatchee Bay Kayak Fishing for Bull Reds and Trout. Clay, Darin and i went kayak fishing with Rizzo in Choctawhatchee Bay. We got into an incredible trout feeding frenzy. Special thanks to Rizzo for taking us and putting us on the fish. I hope you enjoy the video and tight lines everybody!
Rizzo was taking us out today to the spot where he's been slaying the trout.
They've been schooling up on the flats in Choctahatchee Bay and he knew exactly where
they were. So Clay, Darren and I met him at sunup at Cessna boat landing and unloaded our kayaks
and got started. It ended up being a pretty ridiculous day. We caught 100 and some trout.
I believe Rizzo caught well over 60 some trout. Darren caught probably 40 or 50. And I believe
Clay and I were fighting over last place. We probably caught, I don't know, 25 a piece.
But it was an awesome day and I got to cap it off with the monster redfish. So let's get started.
Yeah, I got this one. Oh yeah, that would have been a keeper. There we go. That's more like it.
Oh, this one's a little better maybe. No, a little smaller. Hold still. White swimbaits,
what they want. This one seems to be doing the best with quarter ounce jig head
and the white with the pearl flakes. So head back over. Let's catch some more trout. I want
catch a big one. And I'm getting hit like as soon as it hits the water. Got him. Nice. Oh,
little dink. You know where I was at? Golly. Oh, slammed him into the boat. Stunned him.
Beautiful fish. Golly, he choked it. Stop it. I'm trying to help you. There we go.
Well, I got tons of swimbaits. This one feels like a little dink.
Yeah, no, not tiny. Maybe he is. Not huge. Stop it. Here you go. Ow. Hooked myself. Ow. Oh,
they're loving that. Got him. Oh, that's a good one.
Hey, hey, hey, hey. Oh, really? You just flung my plastic off?
See if the redfish magic works on trout.
Oh, dang. I'm right in front of you. Sorry, man.
Yep, you've got enough. Oh, there we go. Whoa, whoa.
That's a red. Yep.
Oh, he's decent. I don't think he's bull status. Okay, maybe he is. I just saw his body.
He's pretty big. Oh, and I got him. I think he's foul hooked.
Oh, no, he's not foul hooked. Good run.
Something tried to take a bite out of the top of him. Did you see that?
Yeah. Oh, yeah, definitely something took a bite out of him.
That's a bull. Yep. That's over 30 inches. Got him. Yeah, look at the size of that tail, man.
Oh, oh, he just tore the redfish magic up. Stop it.
Oh, you about knocked my lures in the water.
Oh, he's way over 30. He's 34. Nice. Damn, he got hammered by a shark. Yeah.
You can see where he got bit right there. All right, let's see if he's ready. Thanks.
Oh, yeah, he's ready. All right. You ready, bud? Oh, yeah, he's gone.
All right, that was worth the trip.
