Thank you Mr. Speaker. House Resolution 75 recognizes the month of April as Testicular
Cancer Awareness Month. So just a couple of facts on what you need to know. Testicular
cancer is very much a young man's disease. It is the most common cancer for men ages 15 to 35.
So I would encourage all parents to be sure to talk to your children about this.
Young boys are most likely to be the ones that get testicular cancer. Secondly, it's
highly curable if detected early. Last year was the 50th anniversary of Dr. Odenhorn's
remarkable discovery of platinum-based chemotherapy that he pioneered that has taken
this from 5% recovery to up to 85%. And before I take my seat, I have to recognize and thank
so many members and so many other people that stood beside me and prayed for me and fought
with me three years ago. April 15 will be three years cancer-free. Thank you all very much.
I move adoption of Resolution No. 75.
