Comedy isn’t just about making people laugh—it’s about making them think. After years of COVID lockdowns and cancel culture, comedians who refuse to sit down and shut up are pushing back and saying what everyone’s thinking. PragerU’s short documentary explores how the tide is turning in entertainment, why no topic should be off-limits, and how comedians became the unlikely heroes who helped save free speech. They’re not alone; they’re done being quiet. And now, we’re all having the last laugh. Watch it on PragerU.com

comedy is the great equalizer your job
is to shake things up the oldfashioned
women oh god you know the ones with
wombs
that poking of the bear is the point of
what we do and we need it more than ever
of all the hiring for all the new pilots
the main focus is going to be diversity
diversity not the best pilots you can
find when they do come to my shows and
they go like
this okay I thought it was just me
your job is to say things that people
think but would never dare say cuz they
might get fired i actually like trans
women better than I like regular women
they're great they're like dudes people
now starting to think like "Oh saying
things is a type of violence." You're
like "No it's not." They like to be
enraged and that switches into
self-righteous indignation
i started to notice certain topics being
called offlimits you can't talk about
race gender if you're white you can't
talk about this comedy got a lot softer
the threat of cancellation is very real
abc cancels Roseanne after a racist
tweet shane Gillis got fired over jokes
he made in the past when you eliminate
free speech you're not only stopping
somebody's right to speak you're also
stopping somebody's right to listen
people are getting fed up now with
cancel culture comedians are a part of
that movement to push back against that
i think there's going to be a
renaissance if something is so
tyrannical and authoritarian the way to
knock it down is to laugh at it
