Okay, guys. We are at the Dollar Tree
and I came here last week and there was
boxes out for summer, but they hadn't
actually put their summer crafting and
like all their official summer stuff
out. So, we are going to go in the
Dollar Tree. We're going to find a bunch
of cutie summer DIYs. I'm thinking like
outdoor activities, toddler things,
maybe some cute like vacation. I saw
this little zipper pouch that was
already out. I don't know. We're going
to go see what they have and then we are
going to take it back to the studio and
we're going to craft and I'm so excited.
Okay, let's go.

Okay, so we are back from the Dollar
Tree and I got a bunch of stuff. Okay,
so let's just go ahead and get right
into it. Um, I have it in a trash can.
Um, we needed a trash can for the
office. Um, but let's just start off
with this guy. Now, they have like a
bunch of um good $3 to $5 items. And
this one is a mirror. So, I don't want
to hold it directly at you guys, but
it's like a mirrored bottom. It has this
like gold frame. Super cute. I have an
idea for this because they have all of
that contact paper. You know how they
have like the section with the contact
paper and stuff? So, I grabbed this
because what? I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed
with this. It's so pretty. It's got
little blue flowers and when it hits the
light, it has like metallic in it.
Anyways, I love this. We're gonna add
this to this like in the
bottom. We'll see how that turns out.
Um, I got this for uh like a teacher
gift. I'm thinking you could put her
name on it. Put like a cute little
decal. We'll see what we can whip up for
there.
This is one of those waterproof. They're
calling it a swimsuit sack. It's pretty
big. It says 12 and 1/2 by 8 and 1/2.
You can open it and it's waterproof on
the inside, which I really like. And
then you can put your phone in here. And
it says that it is touchscreen
compatible. So, you can like use your
phone through the plastic. We're going
to put some vinyl on it. I think maybe
we'll do HTV. I don't know.
I was just trying to get some info, you
know. And then this is the one I'm most
excited about. So, they have these
frames. First of all, these are
adorable. They're like little wooden
frames and they have like the beading
around them. They look like an like a
bleached wood. I don't know. I'm really
obsessed with that bleach wood. But I'm
thinking like for a gift, you could do
three three like this and then attach
them with a ribbon. So I went to the
ribbon section to see what they had.
They didn't have a lot of options today,
but normally they have more. They had
this, it's called jelly ribbon, almost
like that oranza or chiffon material,
and then they had this like burgundy
color. They're both really cute and
classy.
So, we'll use those. And then I got some
like Fourth of July bunting. I was
thinking we could either add in some
words here like America or like USA. Or
you could even add some cards stockck
letters on top of the popsicles. Look
how cute those are. Um, we're going to
be doing a lot of camping this summer,
so I thought that could be cute for like
a little camping project. So, got
those. These I've never seen these at
the Dollar Tree, and they're adorable.
They're like little
hanging picture frames. Now, st Look,
it's a 4x4 picture frame that just hangs
on a circle. So, you
could hang these on the wall like this.
I got two of them cuz I thought it looks
weird just to have one for fun.
I'm obsessed. Are you getting the
vision? I love it. Okay, so there's
those. And then, oh no, did I forget my
whiffle
balls? I got these. I might have to go
back and get wiffle balls. Have you guys
seen them do I've seen this all over Tik
Tok. They're calling it yard pong and
you set these out in the yard and you
throw whiffle balls into them and then
it can be just like a fun yard game. Um,
but you're going to need six of one
color and then six of another color. I
got the teal. They didn't have six of
the red that I wanted. So, I may go back
and get those. Um, but I'm think I'm
going to put numbers on these maybe or
like fun shapes or something. So, if you
want to like call a cup, you can say I'm
going to get it into cup two, then you
get double. So, it's just like a fun
yard game I've been seeing. Um, but
yeah, that's all the stuff I got. Oh,
wait. I've been holding on to this.
Okay, this is like a little clear glass
trinket box. We're going to do something
with this. I'm thinking Mother's Day
maybe. Um I've just had it for a while.
I didn't get it today and I didn't see
them today. So, I think that they're
probably out. But also, these I'm
obsessed with these. Okay, they're like
little um vintage style mirrors. I think
maybe we'll put like a cute saying on
this or something. I don't know. We got
to get busy. We got lots of work to do.
Let's go ahead. We're going to head into
the craft room and start designing and
cutting. Hi. It is a different day, but
we are going to continue making our
crafts. So, we did everything in Design
Space. Um, this craft is the one I'm
most excited about, so I'm starting with
it first. Um, I've just got a clipboard
from Dollar Tree. This was 125. They had
some solid color ones, but I thought I
was just going to add a name to this.
And then I started thinking and I was
like, you know what? It'd be really cute
to make this look like a pencil. So,
I've got my colors. Let me show you guys
what colors I got. I
have pink. It's giving eraser, right?
And then I have black for the tip,
yellow for like, is that not the most
true pencil yellow you've ever seen in
your life? This is for also for the tip.
And then this is for like the metal on
it. And I'm going to cut them down to
the size of the stripes on here. So, let
me grab a paper cutter. Now, if you're
going to ask me what paper trimmer I
like the best, um, I don't have a great
answer for you, but I use this WCOT one
most of the time. WCOT scissors, WCOT
paper trimmers. It's just the goat. What
I'm going to do is measure this and then
we're going to trim the big pieces of
vinyl down. So, I think they're all the
same height. 2 and
1/2. 2 and 1/2. Yeah, they're all 2 and
1/2. So, let me get y'all situated so
you can see what I'm doing. Now, if
you've never used a paper trimmer, you
want to be looking at it so that you can
read the numbers right side up. And then
you're going to bring the edge of your
vinyl or your paper to the length that
you want your cut. So I need it two
inches. So I'm bringing the edge of my
vinyl to two inches. And you're just
going to slice it and dice it. And I'm
going to do that to every single one. So
you can see I've got my silver
strip. Honestly, that looks really thin.
We're just going to do them one by one
cuz I think if I assumed they're
all 2 in. I'm going to be wrong. So,
we're going to do two and a half
here. This is for the very bottom piece.
And keep them long cuz we're going to
trim off the edges once we get all the
pieces on. Okay. I'm going to speed this
part up so you guys don't have to sit
here and watch me do this.
Okay, so this is kind of the layout. Are
you guys picking up what I'm putting
down? Also going to cut out a gold name.
I'm going to put Mossina here, which is
my daughter's teacher's name. Well, it's
actually Christina, but she calls her
Mossina. So, we're going to put that.
Make sure you take off the plastic,
obviously. Um, can't say. I haven't made
that mistake before, though. So, I'm
just taking that extra vinyl and kind of
putting it on the edges. And I think I'm
going to take like maybe a heat gun and
go over all this once I'm done just to
really seal it in there.
[Music]
Okay, guys. This is almost the finished
product. We've got to add the name,
maybe a bow, and she's good to go. Okay,
this is so cute. Um, I think probably
you could do a coat of resin over this
if you're feeling real boug. I'm not
feeling real boug, so I'm not going to
do that. But I do think that it needs a
bow. So, I'm going to go look at our
ribbon stash and add some kind of bow
because it just needs bow. I mean, it
just needs something, but it's still
really cute. So, let me go do that.
Okay, this is what I came up with. I got
this little measuring tape and then I
did kind of like primaryish colors. I
know green's not a primary color. Red,
yellow, and blue cuz blue and yellow
make green. Yeah. So, anyways, you get
what I'm saying. So, I'm going to just
cut little strips of these and do kind
of like um like a rag ribbon. So, let's
grab some scissors. And I know it's a
mess here, but this is real life. This
is Thank you, Holly. Um this is just
what it looks like whenever we're
crafting in here. Um it's always kind of
a mess. We try to pick up, but y'all
know how it is. So, I'm thinking like 12
in. And I'm going to cut all these at an
angle so they look finished. Heavens to
Betsy. Okay. So, when I do rag ribbons,
I just kind of stack them all together
like this. And then I'm going to take
them all at once. And I'm just going to
kind of tuck it up under this little guy
and pull it to the
side. And there you go. You got your
cute little clipboard with your little
bow. And you can get them like even
school colors would be really cute on
this. Like keep the pencil, do school
colors on the bow. This is just kind of
what we had to work with, so I just
committed to it. But yeah, super
cute. So, we cleaned our sticker residue
up. And then we've got our words here.
I'm doing it kind of like a stacked.
Think Stony Clover vibes. Um, so we need
to do the underneath layer first. So,
the white layer is going to be going on
here first. So, we need to put our
masking tape on or transfer
[Applause]
tape. Cute. This is kind of an awkward
blank to put vinyl on because it's not
flush to the surface. Um, so you may end
up with a few little bubbles. That's
okay. We're going to the beach. And I'm
going to recycle this transfer tape.
Usually get like two to three uses out
of it.
And always apply your transfer tape on a
good stable surface. Otherwise, it'll
stick in places you don't want it to
stick. Oh my
gosh. So stinking
cute. Okay, that's adorbs. Taking this
one home, please. And thank you. Look
how cute that is. Each girl. I want to
see if I can do my phone through it.
Let's see here. Now, if you put
something on the front, you may not be
able to use your phone as
well, but you totally can hit the
buttons on it. That's cool. Love it. 10
out of 10. Okay, for this next one, I
got these cute little farmhouseesque
frames. Super adorable. I got three. I'm
thinking like this kind of situation. I
also got some ribbon. I'm gonna connect
them, tie a bow at the top, and put some
print and cuts, which are already
printed out. I was going to do my
daughter George's initials with a
gingham background behind it. These are
all Makers going to learn files and
fonts. I used the font varsity for the
GLG. And then I just put an offset
behind them. Um, and put a different
colored gingham. So, this one has green
and then we did pink and then we did
yellow. And this is just on copy paper.
So now if they're a little bit big, take
your glass out and just put it over top
of them and center it back up. And then
take a true control knife and just trim
around the
[Music]
edges. Look how cute. There's the first
one.
[Music]
I just opened up my Etsy seller app and
we just sold an embroidered hat. Our
first embroidered hat in our print on
demand shop. We've been trying to sell
them. I'm so excited. Side
note. Okay, here is the finished
product. I feel like this turned out
really cute as long as you don't look at
the back. But that ain't nobody's
business. And I think it's darling. So,
let's go to the next one. I've got a
Fourth of July banner, but I think we
can it up. You know, I'm always looking
to jush stuff up. So, it just comes like
this. We're going to open it and we're
going to add America to it because why
not? So, we've got it cut out of card
stock. I just need to attach these red
pieces to the offset. And this is a new
Makaker's Going to Learn font. I want to
say it's
called
cruise. So, you're going to take off the
first side and then you're going to take
your add-on and we are just going to
thread it through. And I did add a hole
at the top and the I'm sorry, at the
left and the right top to thread it
through. I'm hoping it lays nicely cuz
the holes are kind of big. I took off
five popsicles cuz there was 10 all
together. And then I'm just going to
weed these popsicles back on. There she
is in all her glory. So cute. Okay,
we've got two crafts left. Um, first of
all, these are the two blanks that we
kind of collected. I didn't get them on
our little haul the other day. Um, this
is the antique frame that I have been
obsessed with. We're doing a Mother's
Day tea party, so I'm going to And it
may be past Mother's Day when you guys
see this. Um, but I do think that this
is a really good little prop for signage
at a party of any sort. You could do
like a tea party themed a tea party
themed party or I don't know, it's
honestly just pretty general. This style
is really in right now. And then we have
this one also. This is just like a clear
glass case. It's super nice. It's This
is a $3 to $5 section. So, this was $5.
But, I thought this would be really cute
to put seashells in this summer. So, we
cut out some yumi in the sea and a
little seashell we're going to put on
there. And then this one is going to
have a cute little Mother's Day saying.
And let's just see how they turn out. I
think they're going to be really cute.
Same piece of transfer tape is still
going strong. And yes, you can clean
your surface with alcohol if you so
choose to. We like to live our life on
the edge
here. Oh, this one's
cute. It just says, "Mama, you are
magic." I mean, that is just darling.
That is
[Music]
cute. Tada! So cute. My girls are going
to love putting seashells in this
whenever they find them. Probably going
to end up with some pebbles, stones,
flowers, who knows? Either way, super
cute.
Okay, so what did you guys think? We did
five or six different crafts. I didn't
really craft with everything that we got
from the Dollar Tree, but we did most of
it. I'm going to save the other stuff
for later and then uh yeah, maybe we'll
make something new then. Let me know
what you guys have found at the Dollar
Tree for this summer. I would love to
see that in the comments. And until next
time, I want you guys to check out this
video because I think you're going to
like it just as much. See y'all later.
