Moving into my Dream Dorm

Oh my gosh. I just walked into my brand new room and it is so much better than I could have ever hoped for. I am over the moon. Oh my gosh. I need to give you a tour. Okay, hang on. Before we actually look at everything, let me give you some context. So it's actually January 4th right now. I came back home from winter break extremely early because I got an amazing opportunity to move buildings, move rooms, get my own room actually. Okay, wait. So you walk in and right here's our little dining table. This is I guess some storage that they have set up. This is the kitchen. That's the bathroom over there. And then this right here is my room. And oh my gosh. This might not look like such a big deal, but I live in New York City. Like I live in the heart of Manhattan. This nice of a space for myself is insane. Like it's truly insane, especially considering the rooms that I've lived in in the past. So wait, look. Here's the door. So this is the closet. It doesn't have a door, which is strange, but whatever. I did order a second closet-ish like thing that we're gonna have to pick up from Whole Foods later. Has, you know, like a shelf up here. Here's the rod. And then this is not part of it. The girl that lived here before definitely just left these and I probably will use it. Not sure though. And this is the rest of the room. So this is my little desk. Over here I'm gonna put a shelf that I also bought from Amazon. This I'm really excited for because in my last room I didn't have like a central AC unit. The building controlled the AC and the actual bedrooms were not heated. So like this part out here was heated, but I like to sleep with the door closed anyway, which means that when I woke up my room was freezing, but that won't be a problem in this building. So I'm so excited. This is my bed. Down here I have so much organization space. I'm gonna move these to the side and I have a shoe rack that I'm gonna put down there. Look at this view. Oh my gosh. This is a huge deal for me. I'm gonna put in pictures of my last two views so you can see like what a tremendous upgrade this is. And the window opens, which I'm so happy about. This is a really big deal to me because I just hate the smell of food when I'm cooking. So being able to open windows, which I was not able to do in my last dorm, is just so massive. I am ecstatic. This is amazing and I'm so so so grateful for this opportunity. Wow, like seriously wow. I cannot believe that this is mine. I get to call this home for the rest of the year. All right, let's move in. Long time no see. It's been a full month since I last checked in. It's actually February 4th now. I just got my order of Power Shake from Joe and the Juice. 10 out of 10. Always recommend. I am all moved in at this point. I'm settled in. I am so in love with the way that it came out and I really can't wait to show you. But while we walk home, let's do a quick fit check. Hang on. I don't know if you can see the whole thing. Abercrombie sweater, Alphoran belt, Abercrombie jeans also, and then these boots. And look at what happened to them. I have to get new boots. Actually, I'll just put in a picture. There is a guy going absolutely ballistic behind me and I want to get out of here. All right, this is the room. I am absolutely obsessed with the way that it came out. It's so perfect and I'm really excited to take you through all the details. Let's start with the closet. So actually, the open closet has totally grown on me. I feel like decor-wise, my room can be pretty plain and it just adds something. I don't know. It also made me realize how little color I have in my wardrobe. Like, look at this. Besides these two shirts that my university gave me, like, there's nothing. I don't hate it but it just like made me realize like maybe I should try to diversify a little bit more. I ended up keeping the little chest that the previous girl had left me. I used the top rack for my two purses. They fit perfectly and the rack that I got from Amazon is just like chef's kiss. Chef's kiss. Right under that, I have two bins from Target and I'm using it to store like my smaller things and honestly like this little corner is amazing. Right next to it, I have a full-size mirror so get dressed, check the fit. It just works. Then over here is my desk area. I decorated the top. Of course, we have a framed picture of my baby. Next to it, the shelf actually worked out perfectly. It's awesome space-wise and here I have the stuff that I'm using daily or almost daily. So like my tech up here, my bible, makeup bag, pencil pouch, art stuff, the stuff I'm using daily and then over here, this just fits so perfectly. It's my hamper. Not really much to say there. Oh and this part's cool. This came together so well. Right under my bed, I got this shoe rack and it is the perfect size. Over here, I ended up sliding the chest all the way to the right and my suitcases all perfectly fit behind them. It just could not have been more perfect. So that's really the tour. The room came together better than I could have ever imagined. I'm really happy with the space and after a month of living here, I feel so like at peace and at home with it and I just, I just love it. Well, that's the dorm. Thank you all for watching.
