Good morning Oya. First shell of the morning. And we're in day eight. Seven. Eight.
The official beginning of our second week. Where do we go from? Where do we go from here?
Heading out of Oya. We didn't even sleep very well last night. The room was really comfortable
with a beautiful view. Oh the view was incredible. I had a massive allergy attack the entire night
medication was not touching at all. Probably kept Kate up with that. Pretty little village.
There's nothing here so don't really expect to do anything while you're here except for
look at the church. And get a nap. Yeah. The guy that used to cook doesn't cook anymore so
eat somewhere else. Yeah. Should be a little warmer. Should be clear most of the day. I say
should be. Yeah. We'll be in a thunderstorm. Off we head north in Galicia. Yay. Positive thoughts
one foot in front of the other and let's see where it takes us. Walking across the floor.
One step in front of the other. I know. The Galician cows are cranky. Those are some big
cows. That's not a cow. Strong like bull. Holy cow. Those are some solid animals.
Look at you. Hanging out around bulls in Spain. What could go wrong?
And they got little baby moo cows. Buen Camino. Buen Camino.
That marker we are definitely over halfway. Now we got to go through the goat gates.
On to sheep. Wow that gets steep. All right over the mountain we go. Well flattened out a little
bit. We picked up on a theme. If there's a hill or a peak you can go over it. Thank goodness we're
not in a hurry today. On that note the last two nights we booked our lodging one day in advance
to try and hit a couple specific places and that was really cool but really enjoy more. Just heading
out not knowing where we're gonna stop. Finding whatever lodging the Camino provides for us.
That's been a much more meaningful experience so far. So Katie's up here looking for eucalyptus
so she can rub it on her pack as some sort of a natural deodorant that some hiker girls told her
about. Was it just because of them? I do know it smells wonderful and my straps stink. All right so
on with that. Well I thought we were gonna get a beautiful view off the top of the hillside of
the next big town we're coming to but we didn't. What we got is yet another beautiful uh what is
that? The stuff that koalas eat. Oh eucalyptus. Thank you. Another eucalyptus forest. These parts
out and along these old I don't know if they're Celtic or Roman or both whatever these old roads
with old track marks in the stone. This is just the best part of the trip. Really it's amazing.
Another Camino puppy. That one's nicer than the last one.
We are now following Dee. Well Bayona is beautiful.
And it's pretty happening. Katie's still rocking her Lithuanian amber power bracelet. Is it helping?
It is. Stopped in Bayona to grab a couple coffees.
Now we're all recharged up on coffees. There's our little arrow right there. Looking for a place
to stay the night. Probably in a different town but we're gonna start looking as of now. I think
we had a couple hours left on our legs today. Back in that cafe was the first time in a while that I
have been uncomfortable about the way I smelled. We washed our clothes last night but something
happened to them so anyways. Thankfully they didn't get too close. Nice little puddle of water
That is so cool. Some of the ones we passed said that they weren't good for human consumption but
that one said it was clean so that is awesome. Water running out of a hill.
I don't know where this thing is. I'm gonna catch up with her. She's a ways away now.
There's even an old shell on the entrance to this bridge. It was built in the early part of
the 13th century. We just stumbled across the hotel Akimada here. What a great little find.
We got it cheaper by walking in than we could get it on booking even with our discounts. Dinner
was delicious. It comes with breakfast included. The room's super comfortable. And it's only like
a 15 minute walk from Little Food Grocery Store. It's up and down but it's a short walk. So that
is us with the completion to day eight. Which uh wasn't bad. I was struggling in the morning
because of being up all night sneezing. A couple hours in it just kind of fell back in. It was a
beautiful day and the day turned out wonderfully. I enjoyed the whole day. It's always funny because
when he's having issues I'm okay or when I'm having issues he's okay. So it goes back and
forth. So thank goodness it hasn't been on the same day. We may stop after about five steps then.
We're a good team. Continues to be an epic experience for me. I think you're doing all
right. Oh yes I'm impressed. I don't hurt as much as I thought I would. Catch you all on day nine.
Yes wow. Boom. Maybe we'll just stop here and move into this hotel. Join us tomorrow to see
what we decide. Keep drinking this coffee. Leave the thumbs up and subscribe. No no that was good. That was good. That was good.
