We are at the local hospital.
Happy birthday, daddy. Thank you, mate.
So, I'm pretty sure today is going to be
the last time you will see the three of
us, as in myself, Lucy, and Koda, who is
in the other room
playing in the vlog. Like, yeah, in
life, the last outing. It It's any day
now. It could be It could have been a
week ago. It could be today. It could be
I mean, it's still still could be like 2
weeks away, but the doctors don't want
me to go much over my due date because
of like baby measuring big. I don't
really want to get induced based off of
the baby's size, but I don't think we're
gonna go too far past the due date
basically. Yeah. Which for us is in like
three days from uh 4 days from now.
Yeah. So the official due date is 4
days, but who knows? This is this is
very much Yeah. the leadup now. Everyone
says second washing machine's on. What
what's that got to do? No, I just think
it's really annoying, isn't it? This big
intro this big vlog
potentially towel wash. I thought they'd
be here already. I thought the 2nd of
May was my guess. The fourth of May was
your guess, which is today. Koda's guess
is the 10th. Is it now? Okay. Did you
not know that? No. Okay. So, yeah, this
is very much the leadup to becoming a
family of four. Unbelievable. And
today's George's birthday. Today is also
my birthday. We thought we'd start this
vlog today just in case we don't get a
chance to like say hello and it all
happens quickly. So, we're not really
going to like film loads today. We're
just going to like have a family day,
but we might bring in the camera and
just like get a few bits just cuz it's
possibly the last outing as a family of
three. and my last birthday as a dad of
one. But how weird that you could have
been 31 when you had the baby or you
could have been 32 and it's now gonna
more than likely be Oh no, it is 32. I
am 32 and I know what you're thinking.
32. Unbelievable. How can George be 32?
And you look about 25.
Disagree. But aging like a fine wine.
Anyway, yeah, we are going to we do have
some birthday plans. We're going to go
over to Hoveve. We're going to go to a
nice breakfast spot, get some coffee.
All of this is like like you we could be
driving over and you could be like I
know. I keep thinking that like can you
remember when my water's breaking the
coffee shop 30 minute drive back to the
house. I was thinking do we take the
hospital bag with us but then we still
need to drop Koda back to your parents
anyway. So it's
like we've got Lucy's bought been to the
butchers and bought all this meat that's
supposed
to all this meat for a birthday barbecue
this afternoon. If we get to that if we
can make it to this afternoon. Yeah.
This bit is yellow. Why is it yellow?
Well, no. I think that's just meant to
be yellow. That's not orange juice. And
guys, we haven't done this on the vlog
yet. Gender prediction. I'm going to I'm
going to lock it in at girl. You've done
girl the whole time. I've been boy the
whole time. And I think it'd be silly to
change now. I keep thinking girl like
randomly, but I'm going to I'm going to
stick to my garden. So, and so it's
different. Boy, Kod, is it a boy or a
girl? Huh? Is a baby a boy or a girl? A
boy. Okay. You think boy? Yeah. So, you
going to have a brother? Yeah. Okay,
cool. You think girl? I think girl.
Yeah. You think boy? No, you think boy.
Girl. I did think boy for most of it,
but something's telling me girl now.
Who? I don't know. Just in my head. Just
in my brain. Do you think girl? Yeah, I
do think girl now. But you like that
song, don't you? If you have a brother,
you love that song. That's in my brain.
There's a boy in my brain. Oh, is there?
Yeah, boy. Oh, you think boy as well
then. Koda loves that song from I think
it's from the Mufasa movie. La, not that
one. The I always wanted a brother one.
I always wanted a brother. I always
wanted my brother. I always my
brother here. So if it is a brother, you
can sing that song. And if it's not,
you'll just have to change the words to
sister. My sister. There you go. Yeah,
like that. Very quickly before we head
out, I'll just show you the present or
one of the presents that KOD got me,
which is this. A Sully Monsters Inc.
mug. Monster. You got a burger mug, by
the way. A burger mug. It was a burger
one, wasn't there, but choice? But we
went for Sunny. Yeah, you got me this.
Thank you, mate. Thank you very much.

Get the boy out. Oh, love your outfit
today, mate. Cota chooses his own
outfits these days, don't you? I want to
walk. You want to walk? All right.
Should we put them in here?
Oh, is that just three? Okay.
Zip them up.
[Music]
How is it, guys?
Oh, look at that. That looks amazing.
So, we finished our
breakfast. Don't know if you can hear
me. We're currently in a car
wash cuz the car was filthy.
Cody's loving it.
Here it

comes. Home now. Just made a little flat
white. Ooh, that's nice. Loose. This is
the coffee Lucy bought me. That's good.
That's so good. Just wanted to get down
a few thoughts of to watch back in the
future of how it's been being a dad for
the last 3 years. I did this before Koda
was born. I watched some of it back. I
need to sit down and spend some time and
actually watch the whole video back to
see how I was feeling before I was a
dad. Knowing that Kod was on the way. It
has
honestly made me it's made my life. It's
made mine and Lucy's relationship. It
has I don't know. You hear that phrase
like, "Oh, we don't know what we did
with ourselves before." And I know
exactly what we were doing. We were
traveling the world making YouTube
videos. Had the best time. But
emotionally and daytoday, just having
that person that you just love so much
and that you can't stop thinking about.
And whenever he's not with us, if he's
at his grandparents house or whatever,
you're just thinking about him the whole
time. Obsessed with every little thing
he does, every little thing he learns,
every little phrase he comes out with.
It's just the best thing ever. By the
way, we're on a new camera and I don't
know how it's a lot wider. It's very,
very wide, actually. So, I don't know
how far to hold it out, but if I hold it
here, I feel like I'm I don't know if
you can see in that mirror. Hold it
really close. Anyway, sat on Kod's
little step. Now, I'm about to become a
dad again to a second child. Like, the
story of our life is evolving and we
haven't yet met them. We don't even know
if they're a boy or a girl. We don't
know their name yet cuz we haven't fully
decided. We have no idea what it's going
to be like having two kids. What's up,
mate? What? Oh, you want me to get off
your step? Yeah, you might break it cuz
you're big. Cuz I'm big. Okay. Oh my
goodness, that is so funny. The things
about having Koda, there's some things
in parenting that I just didn't expect
to be the way that they are. Where is
the Ferrero Rosh? Like that, for
example, a question like that. Where's
the Ferrer Rocher? Ask mommy. We We put
it away somewhere. I didn't expect my
three-year-old to be absolutely obsessed
with Ferrer Roshche, but in my head
before I was a dad, two three-year-olds
were just kind of, "Hey, I'm raising
you. Can you hurry me up, please?" Yeah,
I'll hurry up, mate. Sorry. I just
You'll watch this back one day and
you'll love watching it back, talking
about your brother or sister. I just
thought toddlers were toddlers and just
run around playing and messing around.
But he's so intelligent. He's so with
it. He's so there as a companion. Can
you move on? Is mommy telling you what
to say? Okay, by the yards.
He's a friend. He's I don't know. I took
him out just me and him the other day.
Love. Mommy's definitely telling you
what to say. And we were just chatting
the whole way in the car. And the stuff
that's on his mind is amazing to just
hear. Hello, my little daddy. Hello, my
little lovely. Hello, my little lovely.
You're my little lovely. You're my
little That was actually a nice one.
Maybe it's not Lucy. But yeah, to have
that again with another child, another
baby, a boy or a girl, is just firstly
right now hard to imagine. It's very
surreal at the moment that tonight,
tomorrow, in a week's time, we're going
to have another baby. In this video,
we're going to have another baby who's
going to bring us all of that again, but
in a different way. Overall, just
ridiculously, ridiculously excited. In
fact, it's my birthday today as well. I
was thinking right now that I think I'm
the happiest I've ever been. I think I'm
I'm definitely the healthiest I've ever
been. I love our life in general as a
family so much and bringing someone else
into that is just so exciting. So, yeah,
I just wanted to put a few thoughts
down. I did the same before Koda was
born and I'm hoping they might not want
to. They might not care. They might not
want to watch these videos. Yeah, they
might not want to watch them at all, but
I'm hoping when our kids are like my age
now, 32, they'll watch this and see like
what their young parents were thinking
at the time and what they were going
through and all the things they were
thinking about. I would love to have the
same for my parents if they'd sat down
to camera and and I do have videos like
when we were younger and stuff of my
parents, but of them actually talking
just before we were born how they were
feeling and stuff just would be so cool.

So, it is a few days now since that last
clip and
still no baby. The baby is not ready.
The baby's not ready yet. They're not
coming yet, are they? No. No. So, Kod
and I, it is Sunday morning currently
and Kod and I have come out to the
little local park giving Lucy, giving
mommy a little bit of rest, aren't we?
Yeah. Do you want to come and climb into
the front and then we can go climb over,
mate? You need to bring your hat,
remember, cuz it's so hot today. It is
23.5.
Well, I know. That's really hot. That's
like summer. Yeah. Yeah. It's summer
today, isn't it? It's like summer today.
Yeah. Pretty much the same. It's spring
though. It's spring. That's right. It's
actually spring. Yeah. It is actually
spring. Here he comes. Summer though.
Not summer yet, is it? No. Ready to go
to the park? Yeah. What do you want to
go on? Oh, look. We can see some cars
here. Oh, and the reverse camera. Yeah,
we can, can't we? You going to go on
that big swing?
Big boy swing. Big slide. That's that
big slide that you like. I'm going to go
on that one. Yeah. No. No. Okay. Yeah.
Lucia has been walking. I'll go in the
one that has a little back bit. Oh, I
know. I go in one of the proper ones
like the kids swing. Yeah. All right.
Lucy's been walking non-stop, bouncing
on her gym ball. We've had curry this
week, like doing all the things.
All the things. Lava. That is like lava.
That is actually hot. It's a little bit
warm. All the things to bring on labor.
Lava, but no sun
yet. All right. Hands really hot. Cool

spring. Okay, quick update. We are at
the local hospital um because things
have started to happen. I've I'll let
Lucy fill you in properly in a minute.
Um, but good time of day to be honest.
It's like 10:00 in the morning and we're
in. It's not the middle of the night.
I've just got Lucy a sandwich and they
gave me a free coffee for some reason
cuz they made a coffee and no one came
to collect it. So, the lady was like,
"Do you want a latte?" So, okay, thank
you very much. Um, so yeah, we are in
the
room and we will see you in there. I
will let Lucy give you all the details,
but it looks like things are happening.
Okay, things have escalated. I started
having some contractions about 8:00 last
night. I'm having one now, actually, so
that's great timing. They're not too bad
at the moment. Um, and I was just kind
of monitoring it. They sort of came on
and off last night. Um, and then my
waters broke this morning, but very
annoyingly, don't know if annoyingly is
the right word, there was a bit of like
it's called monium, which basically when
the baby does a poo in the womb, it can
mean a sign of distress. Um, so it's a
slightly greeny color. So they've asked
me to come in. I'm currently being
monitored as you can see. It might end
up that things need to be sped up and we
might end up needing to like go down
that same path as last time with the
drip, which is kind of what I was hoping
to avoid, but equally we want the baby
out safely. So, I'm open to what needs
to be done. But right now, we're just
sort of waiting to see if things can
kind of progress more naturally. I don't
know. But basically, they've just told
me that this is probably the room I'm
going to give birth in and we're not
going home because I came in thinking we
might just be monitored and sent home
again. But they've just confirmed that
no, it's happening right now. So, I feel
slightly unprepared. I'm 40 plus 6 day
40 weeks and 6 days. So, it's the right
time, but equally, it was a bit of a
rush to leave the house. They suddenly
just went, "Right, we need to go. You
need to come in now. It could be like we
want you in as a matter of urgency is
what they said." So, we came in without
any bags. Um, they're all in the car.
So, George has gone to go get them. He's
also gone to get me a sandwich because
if I end up needing like to be plugged
in and have stuff going on, I might not
be able to eat for a while. I made that
mistake last time. I didn't eat for
ages. And then cuz I felt so sick and
then I just felt exhausted. So, I need
some energy. We've dropped Kod off to
the grandparents this morning. He's very
excited for that. And he doesn't
actually know what's going on yet. But
yeah, it's all happening. It's just mad.
I need to like relax and get my head
around it because I just Yeah, it will
win a bit quick. Put it that way. Um but
yeah, fingers crossed all goes well.
They're moving really nicely. Yeah,
let's see.
[Music]
So, we are in our room a couple of hours
later. I think I've shown the room. Have
you? I think I did only when we first
got here. I did a little clip in the car
park. So, I went to get Lucy, got Lucy a
sandwich. I've had some food. Um, we are
definitely in now. This is our room.
This is happening 100%. When we first
came to Yeah, room 2. Cody was born in
room five, so just around the corner.
Um, you can see me. It managed to blur.
You can kind of see you. But when we
when we first came in this morning, we
weren't sure if we'd be sent home again
or but they were like, "Nope, we're
going to get you in check. It's quart 3
in the afternoon." Yes. on Wednesday the
14th of May. Could be born today
probably. I think realistically. Yeah, I
think so. I hope I hope it doesn't go
into the night. I'm hungry already. Um I
don't know what I've said. So, they've
put me on the drip because if you're
wondering what this is, I've got
monitoring. So, there's like wires and
stuff. Um, I've got a canula for the
oxytocin drip, which basically has been
needed to we want the baby to come out
sooner rather than later because of the
whole poo situation, which is wild that
this is all about poo and I can't
Everyone's talking about poo in this
room. It's ridiculous. Um, oh, I can't
actually move. Yeah, you're all plugged
in. Bless you, aren't you? Um, it's
basically like it was like weighing up.
Do we go wait until something happens
naturally without the drip? Ideally, I
wouldn't have the drip. didn't really
want it as in I decided to have it was
my decision but it wasn't part of my
ideal. Um but equally if we don't do the
drip and things take ages to progress
and the baby is in some sort of
stressful situation or distress or I
mean they look fine on the monitoring
but we want them out sooner rather than
later basically. I sound really bummed
up I think I've got hay fever and it's
not helping you breathe through these
contractions cuz I can't actually
breathe but you start on 3 mil we're now
on 24 and it can go up to like 60 or
more. So this I mean to be fair these
are the contractions along here these
little pink spikes that are happening I
mean is that 10 minutes I don't know how
they do it that feels really regular to
me compared to before and I think this
is helping currently got no pain relief
it's been offered but you know I think I
might need something soon rather than
later so they started paracetamol
there's gas and air could do epidural
but I'd rather be a bit more like moving
around this time if I can but equally
the epidural helped me so much last time
so I don't know. I'm just going to play
it by ear and see how bad these get on
their own cuz they are ramping up. I'm
having another one now. I only just had
one so that's much quicker. Um but yeah,
we shall see. It's not the I've always
been someone that says I don't have a
birth plan
because I don't want it to not go my way
and I have like not regrets cuz you
can't really choose everything but like
mourn this ideal birth I guess. But I'm
more someone who would have like a
preference based on previous experience.
I had no plan with code at all. Like not
even a preference. I just went with
whatever the doctors told me to. But
this time I've done a lot more reading.
I know how I felt after my last birth.
There's things I would like to avoid if
I can this time. This felt kind of
unavoidable. If you want to keep the
baby safe, do the drip. That's kind of
what it came down to, wasn't it? There
was a genuine medical reason. Yeah,
exactly. But it's so funny. We've got
two nice really nice midwives just been
chatting. Like it's been so laidback.
100%. And they called us stylish. Thank
you very much. I didn't expect to be
complimented. They said they said you're
the most you're both the most. They
never said the most. They did. They
didn't say the most. They They said the
most you're the most stylish parents
we've had in all year ever since the
hospital opened in 19. Pretty much since
Victorian times. Yes. Um Victorian
times. But yeah, basically we're going
to see how we get on. We still haven't
really told family yet because I don't
want to worry anyone and be like this
has happened and we're processing
because we had a feeling we didn't grab
the bags from the car straight away
because what happened last time was that
you call up and even if you're having
contractions they say no no it wasn't
even that she said on the phone we'll
see if you need to say or not. Right.
Yeah. So she like oh yeah come in we'll
assess you but you still might go home
and have like a whole day at home even
if you're having contractions. So I turn
up like hi I'm here to be assessed. So,
we didn't bring the bags in from the
car. We We did bring it with us, didn't
we? Yeah. Thank God. But we weren't
fully prepared to stay in. So, we've
just been processing that that this is
happening now. This baby is coming.
Yeah. Cod's with my mom and dad. He
doesn't know yet. We're going to tell
him. We're just going to tell him the
baby's been born. Basically, I don't
think for a 3-year-old to understand
that it could take like a day or two to
have this baby. Yeah. Fair. Cuz he'll be
not worrying, but like where's the baby?
Like, they're meant to be here now.
He'll be impatient basically. Not but
but more just like in a happy way. But
also I I wonder if you'll worry if like
why is the baby not home yet? Like as a
three-year-old you're not going to think
it's a day. It's like a long process
100%. But can't wait for that moment.
We're we just realized like an hour ago
we get to find out if they're a girl or
a boy after 9 months. Mad, isn't it?
So there's all all emotions flying
around. Excitement. They waited to find
out as well. Yeah. Unlike us. But the
team here have been incredible. Been
amazing.
more like yeah sit up this time.
Everything's been our decision. So no
pushing. Um literally. Yeah, it's been a
nice very nice experience so far. But I
am hungry and I'm not allowed to eat.
Oh, you can't eat and I could be on this
for another 10. I could literally on it
for 10 more hours. I've done two. Oh my
god.
They did say eat before, but that was 2
hours ago. I'm hungry now. Easy to get
hungry in 2 hours. Oh yeah, I'll get
hungry in 15 minutes. Yeah, there being
no
wars. Maybe the birds will sing about
your
heart. Maybe the trees will whisper the
word. Maybe the sun will spread your joy
