Hiking the Heaphy Track to Heaphy Hut, New Zealand

Hello again, ladies and gentlemen.
We are extremely excited to be on the west coast of New Zealand, hiking along the Heffy
Track to Heffy Hut.
Unfortunately, we won't be doing the entire track.
We had every intention of doing so, but with the storm that came through earlier in the
winter that took out Heffy Bridge, you were not able to complete the entire track, unless
you want to pay for a really expensive helicopter, which we don't necessarily want to.
But with the birds chirping in the trees, the sounds of the waves crashing in the background,
and surrounded by the beautiful Niikau Palms, this is supposed to be the most beautiful
section of the track, so it should be a fantastic weekend regardless.
This is the Heffy Track to Heffy Hut.
Let's check it out.
I think that's signs for me.
Danielle's gone ahead because I'm going too slowly, and she's getting impatient, which
is fair enough.
It's just so beautiful.
I need to take shots of everything.
Oh, it's just everywhere you look.
These Niikau Palms are so picturesque.
I mean, this is just ridiculous.
I can't get enough of it.
Every corner is just unreal.
When we first came to New Zealand, and we started doing the Great Walks, a lot of people
said that the Heffy always made their feet hurt.
And I never really understood that.
I was like, why would a particular track hurt your feet more than other tracks, especially
when it's a coastal one, so theoretically, the ground should be a bit softer.
But yeah, I can kind of confirm, I don't know why, that Heffy kind of hurts your feet.
But I will say, walking on the sand feels like pillows right now.
So soft.
And this is one pretty track.
Such big space.
So much grass.
So lush.
Or should I say, Merry Christmas?
Because it is Christmas Day.
Although it's not Christmas for you, because it's going to be a very long time until you
Had a wonderful night at Heffy Hut, such a cool little hut, and a very, very beautiful
and relaxing walk in.
So we're just heading out the same way we came in.
Going to do a bit more beach walking to try and mix things up a little bit.
It's another beautiful day on the west coast, so enjoy these last shots as we walk out of
here.
We'll catch you in the next one.
