Hi, I'm Brad and I'm John.
It's been quite a while since we've done anything from Angelina Jordan.
I think the last thing we did was probably Suspicious Minds and that could quite well
have been last year, quite frankly.
Yeah, I remember.
I think we did something at Christmas time, which I thought was last year, but it's been a while.
Anyway, since we actually only did it a couple of times on this channel, before the smoke starts coming out of this.
So, back when she was 17, how old is she now?
Yeah, probably 19.
19? She might be 19 by now.
19, 20.
I've kind of lost track of exactly where her birthday is.
Can't believe these people are so young and have so much talent.
Anyway, when she was 17, she was asked, and obviously did, to sing at one of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies, where they hand out the Nobel Peace Prize.
Yeah, strangely enough.
Weirdly enough, she wasn't getting one, but she was there performing.
There you go.
And the song that she performed is Unchained Melody.
I was going to say, this is obviously a cover of the Righteous Brothers.
However, the Righteous Brothers themselves, it was a cover, oddly enough, which I didn't actually realise.
It is surprising how many songs there are actually covers.
Yeah, well, the song comes from a movie in the 30s or something like that called Unchained.
So, I mean, it dates way, way back.
And yeah, the most commonly known version of it is the one by the Righteous Brothers.
Well, yeah, because there's a lot of songs from back in the 50s and 60s that you actually had multiple artists cover.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, yeah, you see it a lot with quite a lot of the artists.
I mean, Tina Turner, a number of her hits were, they were songs that were written, handed off to various people.
Elvis, there's a number of Elvis songs that were hits for Elvis, weren't hits for the original artist.
There's even a couple that actually went the other way around as well.
They weren't hits for Elvis and they were for the others.
Because it just happened a lot more back then than it does now.
Well, let's check it out.
Before we do, make sure you hit that like and subscribe.
You can comment suggestions down below.
No, wrong one.
Check out the description down below where you find a lot of links, information and stuff that we have down there.
Okay.
I shall hit play.
Also, YouTube said it before, actually said it before about some of her performances.
Orchestras help make songs better.
Orchestras and backing choirs.
Right.
Always seem to improve a song, at least, you know, in my opinion.
Yeah, I mean, just for the short time we've listened to her.
I forgot how good she was.
YouTube pause.
Yeah.
I see you lost on it.
Mm-hmm.
You do.
Yeah.
It's kind of very soulful rendition.
We've had one tease of her come through already.
I'm sure at the end of the song, it builds up again.
So, yeah, it's been a while since I've heard the song.
Find out.
Yeah.
I know she's good, but it's like I forgot how good she was.
Yeah.
You know?
That's the bad thing about not doing some of these artists for a while.
Yeah.
It's also the good thing about not doing some of these artists for a while, because it's
kind of like, oh, yeah, oh, that's really good.
Yeah.
I mean, yeah, you forget.
So it's kind of like, oh, oh, oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Well, and to be that young and to sing in that style and to have that vocal.
Yeah.
To be that controlled.
And we mentioned it in the one we did the other day with the Elliot Jones, right?
Yeah.
Like, just the both of them, just the same.
Yeah.
Same era.
Yeah.
And like I said.
Yeah.
It'd be nice to see them do a duet.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, because Elliot loves him some, you know, Elvis.
And he's obviously a big Elvis fan as well.
You know?
So, yeah, it would be really nice to see them do something together.
Will it happen?
Who knows?
I don't know.
How small the world is.
That's true.
How small the world is.
They made my Sierra suggestion.
Yeah.
How small the world has become.
Yeah.
You never know.
So, well, hopefully they do.
Mm-hmm.
And we're going to continue reacting to her anyway, so if you want to see those, make
sure you hit that like and subscribe.
