INSANE Grilled Filipino Street Food in Siargao! Mama's Grill

Good morning guys. Good morning. Welcome to another daily juice. We are in Siargao this morning. We went out last night for Mike's birthday. I haven't said I've been out last night for ages. We don't normally drink, like stay out late drinking at all. Your voice is deep. We didn't, we had like two beers and a glass of wine, but for that, for us, more than that, I had like rum and gin. Really? Yeah. This morning we're off for some breakfast at a place called Shaka, which we haven't been to before. Nelly and Mike have been there. There's a lot of construction going on here. Um, this island is kind of cool. It kind of feels very different to different islands in the Philippines. We've been, we'll speak a bit more about that later. Why we think that is. Also going to go to the gym today. Definitely. Um, and just see what happens. It's a lovely day. Beautiful island. We're picking up the motorbikes today, which is very exciting. I've never driven a manual motorbike, so that could be fun to watch. Yeah. Not sure about this. Right. We need food. We need coffee. You guys know the drill. Let's go. Oh, it's a nice day today. We've just come down to Shaka now, which is one of Mike and Nelly's favourite spots, but they were just saying that it used to just be over the road here, but instead they've moved it. And this location is like incredible. So nice. So nice. All the palm trees. And we're just walking down towards the beach. There is nothing better than waking up and walking down to the beach and having some food and some coffee. Like it doesn't, I don't think it's how, riding motorbikes there, which we'll be doing tomorrow. This is kind of like similar to the bikes that we're going to be picking up. I think. You're kicking stones into my legs as we speak. Oh, I apologise. Yeah. Nice. Very excited. Yeah. They said we had a bit of a line this morning because of our late night last night, but we're feeling good today. Whoa. Is that the horizon? Is that clouds? That's the sky. That's clouds. What the hell? I thought that was the horizon. I was like, whoa, it's well high up. Whoa, the water looks so nice. So nice. Look, show them this. Nice. They upgraded to a Lamazocco machine. Wow. This looks so nice. Oh, have you got Mike's camera back? Yeah. I'm carrying all the bags this morning. Morning. Well, we don't have coffee bits at the moment. No coffee? Yeah, we're really in a hurry. What's the problem? Well, we don't have the coffee bits. Oh, the coffee. Okay. I thought I'd have to fix the coffee machine again. No, it's alright, we'll get a new one again. We arrived here this morning. They had run out of coffee beans, but they're good now. You should know what's in it. It's like kale, cucumber, maybe mango. And beautifully presented as well. Look at this. You can see all the flour made out of mango. I don't think I could do that, but it's so good. Just got to fix our hair, Mike, before we get on camera. You know how it is. This one must go on. Absolutely. I've got the, look at this. Welcome to the hair show with George and Mike. New channel opportunity here. Look at this. This is delicious. Well, I haven't actually tried it yet, but it looks delicious. I know, I've had that. Have you? It's delicious. Have a first little bite here. It's basically banana, cacao and peanut butter. It's more like a dream combo. I've never really had anything like this in the Philippines. Siargao's got a different kind of vibe going on. Yeah, but huge shout out to Ashaka because they're here in Siargao. They're in Bohol. They're in El Nido now. Really? They're in Moalboal now. Oh, perfect. So they're spreading their wings and flying. This is such a nice place. Hugely recommend you coming here if you're visiting the island. We've also met another full time travel couple here. Huneli's talking to you now. All right. Great breakfast. We are hopping on a tricycle now. Oh, whoa. Mike and I are going to stand on the back. Oh, we're moving. Oh, we're too heavy. Really? OK, it's too heavy. We've got to sit inside. Update. We've just been doing some editing in this cafe and our vlog's all done. It's exporting. It's currently uploading very slowly. Internet's a little bit of a struggle on this island. Same as Ziggy Harbour. We'll still make it happen each day. But something really shitty, something really annoying has just happened to Mike's vlog. He was doing something with the files. He pressed command Z in Premiere Pro, which should be like a back step. But instead of doing it in there, it did it on the Mac and it deleted all his files. So not only did it didn't delete the actual vlog, but it deleted the files and the files weren't saved anywhere else. So it means they're gone. And even though the project is technically still there, you can kind of see all the clips. It's just red and blacked out. So you won't be able to he can't recover it. He's we've helped him. We've tried to help him like find softwares where you can hopefully get the files back. But nothing's worked, which sucks. We feel really bad for them. So go and send them some love on their channel because it's so annoying. Like it happened to us once in Singapore where we we lost a whole vlog and we were just trying for hours. We sat in a McDonald's in Singapore for hours, just trying to recover these files, and it didn't happen. So frustrating, annoying, but it's OK. They're filming a different video now, I think anyway. So they're still uploading. They're very committed to the channel and they still want to bring daily content just like that. So I think we're going somewhere called Mama's Grill for dinner tonight, which is like really nice barbecued like chicken and fish and stuff. And apparently it's super cheap and it's right next to the beach, which sounds great. We're hopefully picking up the second bike. I don't know if George has shown you this yet, but this is the first bike just here. It's massive. It looks kind of scary. I don't know how I'm going to sit on it, because it's so high up. Just here. And then George and I are picking one up later, I think, but the first impressions of Siargao, people are really friendly, as always in the Philippines. Food's great, coffee's great, and it just looks beautiful. So despite the vlog drama, we're having a good day. All right, guys, we're off to the gym now, which we, yeah I got a key, which we originally wanted to do this morning, but we went out for Mike's birthday last night. So, oh, one sec, light. Oh, this is a terrible autofocus at the moment. But as you saw, we went out for Mike's birthday this morning, so we slept in a little bit, got in late last night. It was nice actually, wasn't it? It's been a really nice chilled day. Yeah, really nice. This is where we're staying, by the way, at the moment. Really, really nice place. Mike and Nelly's room just over here. The big rooms, huge beds, good Wi-Fi, a little balcony area. We've got a nice view upstairs. It's called La Luna Resort, if you're interested, if you're visiting. Fancy staying somewhere. It's on the main road, good location. Oh, you guys ready? Yeah. Awesome. Mike's got his motorbike. We haven't yet got our bike. We're hopefully picking it up late today or tomorrow. Yeah, we'll see when we ride past Looskey's, if they have a bike there, we'll just take it. Perfect. That's the nice thing about our ongoing relationship with Looskey, the most awesome company on the island. We just can get bikes, take videos, photos with them. Perfect. Looking forward to having a go with one of those. I think for now, Lucy and I have to take a tricycle, which is fine. So we'll look a little bit less cool than Mike on his vintage red, huge motorbike. I think we showed you guys already. Look at this beast. It's even big for me. Yeah. Mike looks so big on it. Look at it. It's like my feet barely touch the ground. That's how big it is. That's crazy. Nice bike though. Yeah. All right, we'll see you at the gym. It's a bit big, George. Just about to get off it. Nice. Crazy. I feel like there's a proper way to get on it. There must be. This is like a stand, so instead of scooching up all the way, I think you just kind of like mount it. That's better. Mount it. And then you're like, oh. We're heading now to somewhere called Mama's Grill. It's now pitch black. Sorry. Hang on. There you go. That's better. Ah. Oh, thanks, guys. Oh, it's just you. It's just Mike as well. I can see him in the background. It's a really popular place. We went past it earlier after the gym. It was so busy earlier. There's a little Doberman here following us. Actually, we're following it, technically. When I say little, I mean massive. It's like a grill place. I think it's like barbecue. I'm guessing it's like chicken, I think. And it's kind of like a street foodie vibe. It's like a stall, and then you sit on like, oh, I'm getting run over as I speak. And it's like a stall, and then like benches and stuff, kind of like street food market type thing. But Mike and Ellie said it's amazing, and we're very hungry, so we're going to eat a load of food. And it should be quite healthy as well. Barbecue stuff's normally quite healthy, just like grilled meat and some rice and stuff. But it was great going to the gym earlier. And when we were there, we bought like 10 passes. So we can go, you can buy passes for 10 passes, and then you can like share them. So George and I got five passes each. And we're here for another like five or six days, I think. So we're going to try and go every day we're here, because we always feel really good when we go to the gym. Who's mama? So there's a fridge just here, and you can pick all your food. And then they grill it for you. You take a seat, and then they bring it over to your table. A little bit. It's nice, right? Yeah. So how many? Two total, to share. Pop it in there. And then they now know where to bring your food to, but it's such a cool idea. It's all freshly grilled, so nothing's out waiting for ages. It's just all fresh. Here comes all the food. Oh, nice. Thank you. Is that enough food? Wow. This looks so good. Look at it. I thought the Instagram story was just going to end there. You've got as long as you want with it. Look at this. It looks insane. So good. This place is called Mama's Grill, if we didn't tell you already. Nellie and Mike came here when they came to Chow Gow last year, and they highly recommend it. Apparently, it's good. We've got some fish, chicken, pork. Absolutely amazing. We've got some rice on the way. Delicious. This is like the best grilled chicken I've ever had, guys. It's incredible. The sauce is amazing. It's spicy but sweet. It's really juicy, but it's also got crispy bits on it as well. It's so good. I'm particularly allergic to rolled retriever. Really? Very, very satisfied, all four of us. Great meal here tonight at Mama's Grill. Highly recommend you check this place out. I think I said that for somewhere else today, but we've had a great day. Tomorrow, we'll pick up our motorbikes and go to the gym. We're getting our life in check. What? The road trips were so much fun, but we were one night stage, driving 10 hours in the car, editing in the car, feeling sick. Not eating well and not working out. It's so nice to be in one place. Also, tomorrow, we're going to be exploring more of the island, getting on the bikes, going to see some amazing views, do some fun stuff. You don't want to miss it. Tune in then for now.
