appears to be one of the town's hardest
hit by the flooding right now.
Yeah, Boston 25's April Baker is live in
Brainree where we saw at least one
person had to be rescued from the rising
water.
Yes, good morning guys. Good news is the
rain is letting up and the waters have
already started to recede since we last
saw you in the in the last 30 minutes or
so. So, take a look behind me. You can
see still Granite Street is covered with
substantial water right now. It is not
safe to pass. It is still blocked off to
traffic, but you can see those two cars
that became stalled after trying to
drive through the flood waters. You can
see the water has receded. If you've
been staying with us this morning, you
can see there have been some changes in
the water levels here. So, we have been
following that, but we've also seen the
situation unfold where people had to
actually get out of the car. Um, and
that silver van is the latest vehicle
that got stuck and they managed to push
open the door and get out. But one
elderly man couldn't get out of the car
and we've captured some dramatic video
of first first responders rescuing him,
pulling him out through the passenger
side window and carrying him onto land.
That sounds weird to say because it is a
road, but it's now covered in water, but
they carried him safely to the side. So
now the town of Brainsree continues to
ask residents to stay off the roads at
this point to keep them open for DPW
crews as well as first responders who
need to respond to emergencies like
this. And I spoke too soon. The rain
seems like it's starting to get a little
bit heavier right here right now in
Brainree on Granite Street. So we'll
keep you posted on the situation out
here. But you don't want to become one
of these people stalled on the roads.
