MOVING IN TOGETHER! WHAT TO EXPECT

[Music] hi guys hey guys welcome to another video today is a hopefully relatable video for a lot of you guys we're going to tell you today how to move in with your girlfriend or boyfriend what to expect and what people don't realize when you move together if you've been following our Vlogs recently you would have seen that we have moved into a little one bedroom flat together it's not that little it's all ours quite big actually for one on FL yeah it's actually quite big we're absolutely loving it don't get us wrong but there are a few things that made us want to make this video yes for people maybe you're thinking of moving in with your boyfriend or girlfriend soon just things to consider things to consider not things to put you off just things to be aware of things that we've learned things that we didn't realize before we moved in number one spending time together now this isn't what we think it means it's not you're going to spend more time we found we actually spend less time together since moving in we it sounds really weird cuz we now live together than we did it before well as before we go to each other's houses it'd be one night at George's one night at mine we'd be together all the time and when we went to them houses we spend the whole evening in the bedroom o o not like that because well know we spend time with family as well but obviously but when you got there there was only really one room to chill out and be in if you're at your parents house you're not going to like one of you is going to be downstairs one of you going to be upstairs exactly you stay together basically you stay together the whole time but now like if I'm watching some YouTube videos that Lucy doesn't want to watch she can go off into the bedroom and do something else and I can be in here and we don't have to spend every single second with each other not that we don't want to but it's nice being able to have a room almost a room each in the evening no we it's not like we we SP hours apart like we don't we even work together so when we get home we have dinner together we have an evening watch something on TV or do something together but what I mean is in the later part of the evening when I'm thinking about going to bed George often stays up about an hour later and we'll watch some YouTube videos and I watch some in the bedroom while I'm getting ready Fed so it does it's more flexible basically and it means that we're able to yeah it's just more chilled we can do our own thing but also spend loads of time together number two schedules and routines now this is learning to adapt to work around each other's like morning routines and stuff like that which we're finding hard yeah cuz we you want the shower when I want the shower I want the shower when you want the shower I want to wash up when you want to shower yeah if the hot water runs out then you got to wait for it to fill up again so basically if George is if I'm in the shower and George starts doing the washing out with the hot water you're going to get Freez I'm cold yeah so it's trying to work around each other in that and it's trying to work out each other's schedules cuz when you just spend an evening together or something before you in together you don't know when that person like shaves their legs or like shaves their neck or knees to the bathroom for an extended period of time to much information so you don't know all that stuff so you only learn that as you go along you got to when you've only got like one bathroom you got to work around each other not that one's on the toilet or one's showering but no number one rule why is that your number one rule out of everything don't shower and toilet at the same time number one rule for a happy relationship when you're on the toilet that's your time I disagree with that yeah I try walking on you like get out like get out just trying to do stuff as close as we are number three chores now this is the boring bit of moving in together the main bit as well I find I feel like we ever do chores so I do all the cooking Joel says he does the cooking he's cooked two whole meals since being in the flat two very nice meals so okay spag ball and hash browns well done anyway so I love hash browns I cook every meal I make every lunch I make all the lunches basically I'm Char of food I also do the bathroom um I do sort of polishing and cleaning sides and things oh no don't show that I haven't actually polished this bit yet there's never any time and what do you do you Hoover sometimes wash up no what I wash up every single day yeah but I don't dry I let it dry on its own and then the glasses marks all over it yeah yeah that gets annoying anyway this not D digging session is it yeah um it's very equal is what I'm trying to say okay anyway we've got our job roles in the flat and I think if it was like a free throw and it was like you do that you do that it would have been so much harder so messy it wouldn't work it's more advice we're giving you that it you should have job roles and that you should make it clear at the beginning what you're going to do which means that if they haven't done it then you can be like why is that not done instead of just saying oh why aren't you doing that no I meant to do that get it pre-agreed before you move in exactly sign the paperwork agree on who's going to do what job obviously there'll be times sometimes where like I have to do the bathroom cuz you're busy like I don't know I really want to get a cleaner I know flat but all we do is clean number four habits bad habits when you move in together you realize like for example Lucy every single morning goes to have a shower gets changed leaves her dressing gown on the floor okay if we're doing it this way every morning you get out of bed last and don't make the bed leave it how it is that's exactly the same thing as dressing ging on the floor you leave the do on the floor work yeah I guess it's little things that you didn't realize before living with a person that they did they were annoying things really irritating it just gets on your nerv gears number five time we find we have none of it left there's always something to do there is whether that's cleaning whether that's putting stuff away cing washing up cooking Ming up filming videos editing videos always something to do we're not complaining no it's fun I like like do you remember the other week when we found that one evening we were like oh everything's done we don't have a need to do we didn't really like it cuz we were like oh what we do you do actually realize when you move out how much your parents do for you at home thanks ma'am they said one day we'd say that and if you're watching today is the day that we're saying it thank Youk you a lot and this is a one bedroom flat for god sakes if have like a six bedroom house or something imagine a house like I can't even comprehend how difficult that would be to keep I know we struggle with this place number six TV now this is the most important one if you're like us and you like watching YouTube you like watching Netflix you like watching TV shows you have to decide on it together I know said we like can go into other rooms and watch different things but if you want to watch a series together which we often do if someone can't be bothered to watch an episode but you really want to watch the next episode that's annoying that is annoy you got to do it at the same time you got to agree on it so yeah they're the ups and downs No actually they're all the Downs there are amazing parts of living together as well we're not just slating it we didn't want that to come across as a negative video probably did but there are so many benefits of living together we have all oure space we have we can have friends over we had like Nathan and Frankie to stay recently yeah having dinner parties with people having cocktail evenings and cooking whatever you want each night just having your own space and waking up each morning thinking like this is yours and we sit here and look around and be like we work so hard for all this and it just looked rubbish when we got ahead in it like it was all rubbish you saw it in the Vlogs if you've been watching the Vlogs and now it just looks amazing I think so we're so we're so happy with it now if you haven't seen the flat tour video go
