Hi everybody. Hope you're having a
fabulous day. It's just Shauna with
Action News's fitness tip. I'm at the AB
apartments in King of Pressia. You're
going to grab a single weight cuz we're
doing a plank challenge. Right. I always
say this, no challenge, no change. And
part of your physical fitness journey is
all about pushing your limits. Really
testing your body to see what it's
capable of in a safe way. But
challenging your body is something that
will ultimately get you stronger, right?
Not just physically, but mentally, too.
So, you ready to do it together? Let's
do it together. So, we're going to go
into a high plank. If you need to modify
this and come to your knees, you
absolutely can. Okay? Always know that
that is always an option. So, we're
going to get into a high plank. Drawing
our belly into the spine, we're just
going to move that weight without
breaking the plank. Okay? So, we're
going to move that weight to the right.
Then, we're going to move that weight to
the left. Right? So too often people are
swaying their hips and that just tells
me that okay, we got to work on that
core engagement, core strength a little
bit more. So I want you to really try to
keep your hips still. Having a wider
stance with your legs also helps, right?
To make this more difficult, you can
bring your legs closer together. I'm not
doing that. I'm I'm staying right here
because this is difficult as it is.
Right? So breathing, really keeping that
core engagement and you do as many as
you can before breaking, right? And so
the challenge is obviously staying in
that plank and getting a certain number
of reps in and then saying, "Okay,
I'm going to do that again and I'm going
to try to go five more. Okay, I'm going
to do that again. I'm going to try to go
10 more." And so progression over
perfection always wins. So, keep pushing
yourself, keep showing up for yourself,
keep doing things for your mind and your
body that make you stronger and better.
