I just hosted a dinner party for under
$100. Hosting does not have to be so
expensive. I'm going to show you guys
everything that I did. A week out, I
made the menu and my hosting journal, so
I had the menu and the grocery list
ready to go. I went to Trader Joe's
because that is the cheapest place for
florals and groceries. They also have
the best flowers. I ended up only
spending around $75 total. I will say I
did have wine at home, but still, as a
host, I think name cards and seating
charts are so important. I also printed
out our menu and our place cards, which
is a template that I actually got from
shopenmind.com. This just elevates the
evening without breaking the bank. I
started cooking it the morning of. I had
the chicken marinating in the fridge and
then I made this orzo dish. I'm going to
have all the recipes down below. I also
prepped the strawberries for our dessert
and then I made a spritz and I had this
sit in the fridge earlier that day which
just made it so much easier. For the
table decor, I owned everything already.
Most of this is actually from Walmart
and it's the Better Homes and Gardens
collab that I talk about all the time.
It's unreal. So, that didn't actually
cost me any money, but if you want me to
go through and talk about every single
thing that I use and like give you a
price breakdown, I'm more than happy to.
Chicken thighs are so easy to make and
they're cheaper. I also did some roasted
vegetables and then a ripped ricotta
with like a baguette. So, it's literally
the easiest thing in the world. Also, if
you're looking to save more money, a
potluck is the perfect option. But look
at how cute this table looks. Majority
of the stuff is literally from Walmart.
I hosted four people. All in all, it was
a great success. For dessert, we did
strawberry poundake. I just got a pound
cake that was pre-made from Publix.
Literally the easiest thing in the
world. I did have whipped cream, by the
way. I didn't film that, but I swear
every recipe that I made was very
inexpensive and very easy. Like,
honestly, very hard to mess up. I will
say the white peach sangria that I made,
I will be making that over and over
again. I love that drink. It's perfectly
refreshing, amazing, obsessed. I know
hosting can be overwhelming and feel
very expensive, but there's so many ways
to do it where you're not breaking the
bank. So, I hope this inspired y'all to
get out there and go host. I will have
all the menu and details down below.
Again, swear there is cream with that.
