[Music] [Music] so [Music] we're in boston massachusetts more specifically we're in the seaport or south boston right next to southie uh temperature today is around 75 degrees a little breezy a little overcast perfect perfect for a video today enjoy so where in boston is the seaport so seaport is actually in south boston uh right next to the infamous southie so it is considered south boston district um you know pre-2010 it was just an industrial part of boston that no one really went to matter of fact uh if you're familiar with whitey whitey bulger uh he was the leader of the of the it was an irish gang here in boston and he used to dump all his bodies there all his bodies and so so under some of all these buildings there's probably some dead bodies somewhere so there's a little history but after 2010 it built up now there's over a hundred restaurants and bars there's around 10 5 star hotels and there's around i believe 11 luxury apartments so so there's right now there's about 3 700 people that live just in this small area of boston uh the average income or medium income household income is actually 177 000 a year when i was here in 2015 it was only around 120 000 per per uh household so it's it's actually grown and uh you know basically uh if you're in sales and i t this is where this is where all the decision makers live so it's a nice place to live so there's a there's a quick rundown i decided to step into the beer garden uh sponsored by six cisco brewers brewers so what i'll do is uh i'll go around and just kind of let you see what it's all about and i'm gonna get a beer oh [Music] what's a good ipa uh we have a couple of good ones uh the wandering a's is my favorite um the gripa grapefruit ipa is also really good uh more of a summer ipa uh we also just got the forever new england ipa i took a lighter uh i'll do that one yeah light ipa new england no that'll do it you got it probably not the new and you are awesome thank you very much man okay straight ahead is an example of a luxury apartment here in the seaport as you can see definitely high rises they probably go up about 20 floors here's another one over here right above the ocean prime and these apartments and the seaport for a studio typically go for around twenty eight hundred dollars for a one bedroom about thirty five hundred and if you get a two bedroom actually a one bedroom goes goes as high as five thousand so uh and if you wanted to buy in the seaport it's about two million dollars so this is uh prime real estate prime real estate now if you have a business here uh because of covid uh there's about there's less than 20 vacancy uh in these buildings which is very sad very sad especially if you're a sales guy like me yeah so uh there you go so one thing i did notice is the demographics have changed uh when i was living here in 2015 it was predominantly all white maybe one percent black one percent you know one percent asian uh but predominantly black now it's 79 white nine percent black and i think three percent asian and uh you know the rest uh you know but yeah i think that's great so this the ethnic diversity is definitely happening here in the seaport do you want to go shopping in the seaport they pretty much have everything that you need so you got ll bean very popular in the states and then you got some uh fairly new retail stores bonibos you have filson it gets more men's clothing and then you got a company up here called away and i believe this is uh more for luggage right up here shuffles for all routes let's go in here check it out [Music] good how are you nice the bright blue okay that luggage over there was 745 dollars for a small roller that's a little out of my league okay here in boston uh weworks is very popular it's more like a it's a shared office environment so if you're just starting out a company and you don't have an office this is where you come okay we got the envoy hotel here and on top there's a roof there's a rooftop bar i'm going to attempt to get up there previously it was only for people that are guests of the hotel um but if it's not so busy they'll let you know outsiders come in so let's see if we can get in what do you think you know defensive about it right because you know flexible sensitive you know like no one and i was like like for sure and he was like you can be sensitive i know you're just a that's so rude well yeah listen to me i was like uh that was just aggressively just a barrier thank you great [Music] oh [Music] i already give you a stand see if i can give you guys a view let's do a little tour i used to come here when i was uh living here in 2015 2016. it's great this actually gives you a nice view of the financial district in boston really good view at night it's pretty freaking amazing yeah how do you like them apples that's where i'm at i'm at the l street tavern where that line was made famous in the movie goodwill hunting i'm gonna go inside it's midday on saturday it's actually 4 15 and the boys seem to be drunk inside so i'm going to go in and see uh see what i can film see what i can catch on film people talking about the history i don't know if i'm gonna get any but let's try okay so my opinion is this bar it's just a local neighborhood bar i mean we're deep in uh south boston and uh everybody that's in here has t-shirts and baseball caps they're just local guys they will live a block away and uh they come here every weekend maybe on a thursday as well want to think about it okay all right so uh do you live in the neighborhood it else where else street tavern right now uh do you live in the neighborhood no my friends do oh okay so you you come here on the weekends and now do you know the history of uh the l street tavern no no you know you know about goodwill hunter i know i know it's interesting yeah what's the famous lion here how do you like the maples there we go there we go now now uh where do you live i'm bringing him here oh framingham oh it's maybe maybe 30 minutes from here okay all right man thank you thank you all right so so uh we're an old street tavern and uh do you live in the neighborhood no no you do not we're first time here oh my second time actually there you go now what brings you to l street tavern scout trinket rock ball park roll now do you know the history of hill street tavern really you don't know the famous movie uh goodwill hunting oh okay actually someone's told me about this i i don't so what's the famous line uh something about an apple i don't know you're right you're right all right and what's your name mitch all right mitch thank you very much nice to meet you all right okay just leaving the l street tavern i didn't get so my opinion like all these youngsters that are in the bar they've they've never really they don't know what the history is at l street tavern they don't know goodwill hunting they don't know matt damon i interviewed two people they didn't know you know that they had to think about it they didn't know why they why l street tavern is famous or if it's famous at all so yeah just a new generation new generation okay i want to give a shout out to a nine-year-old bella russian boy his name is andre he's going with his grandmother to mence this weekend and they're going to go to a water park called dreamland so i just want to wish you or hope you
