I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte.

Oh my God, look at them.
You've got some coming from everywhere.
There's a couple down on the lawn.
Oh, look at this little fella.
Huh?
Look at that baby.
He's just a baby.
Yes, you are.
We've got another baby underneath there.
Oh, look, look, standing up.
He was looking right at you.
Oh.
Here you go.
We've got another baby there.
Hi there, little one.
What you doing up there?
Hey, bandit.
That little fella's sure...
eating there.
Here you go.
Hot dogs or you want cookies?
Huh?
You want cookies.
Oh.
What's up, baby?
What you doing?
You coming up?
Hey, be nice.
Look at him, he's sitting there eating.
Huh?
Never honed into that cookie.
I know.
Are you getting enough to eat over there?
Oh yeah, he's...
What's he eating? A hot dog.
Yeah.
We've got a crowd here.
Yep, we've got a crowd.
Yep, they're on the steps everywhere.
Hey, let's all be nice.
Here, baby.
Here.
Uh-oh.
Nope, not the finger.
Here you go.
Nope.
Okay, you can have a hot dog.
Hang on.
There.
You got a baby beside you.
Oh, stop it.
Stop.
He's got this one.
He's playing in the dry food.
There you go.
There's plenty of food to go around, everybody.
Plenty of food to go around.
You want another hot dog?
Here you go.
Oh, he ever grabbed that, didn't he?
No.
How many babies have you got up here?
One, two, three.
Is that one there?
The one that was growing up?
No.
Yeah, that's one of the babies.
Yeah.
He's still got his baby fuzz.
Yeah, we're getting big.
That's one of the early babies.
Yeah.
Want another one?
Uh-oh.
He's about half the size of the big ones.
Yeah.
Look at the mosquitoes floating around.
It's cold out.
Uh-huh.
Did you lose your hot dog again?
You can't hang on to them.
Be careful.
Be nice, guys.
You want a hot dog or you want a cookie?
Hot dog?
There you go.
You don't hang on to them, though.
No.
Huh?
He's going to drop that one.
Yeah, he dropped that one, too.
That's where you are.
You want another one?
With this.
Here we go.
Which do you want?
Get down out of there.
You can't eat the hot dogs up there.
You don't know how to hold on to them.
What are you doing?
Get down.
What are you doing?
Grabbing your hands?
Yes.
These two here are growling at each other.
About to run out of cookies.
Here you go, little one.
Here you go.
He's happy with his hot dogs.
Are you enjoying yourself up there?
You just love to eat, don't you?
You love the food.
You know why they're growing so fast?
They got too much to eat.
Well, they're going to be ready for winter.
Oh, yeah.
That's why we do this.
We'll be ready for winter.
You coming down?
Come on down.
Okay, I'm out of cookies.
I'll get some more.
That's all right.
That's enough there.
All the shells are there.
You have to eat them up.
Look at this, Jim.
Oh, there's Bandit.
Jim.
Careful.
You've got to be Lucy's baby.
All she does is lay down and eat.
There's Bandit there.
I know.
I've been feeding her cookies and hot dogs.
Bandit.
I don't have any more.
That's all I got, folks.
I'm out of cookies.
Goodness.
Y'all did a run on the kitchen today.
Yeah.
Y'all did a run on the kitchen.
That one up there, though.
He seems to be having a hee-haw time.
Hi.
Well, there's a fellow standing there with a cane.
You look like you're still nursing babies.
Are you getting ready to have another set?
They wouldn't still be nursing, would they?
Hmm?
They still wouldn't be nursing.
Well, these folks...
No.
Maybe she's going to have fall babies, then.
No, they're all...
They're all weaned.
Let me go get their Cheerios.
Yeah.
Where's he at?
Right in the tree.
See him?
I see him.
I'm going to get the Cheerios.
Won't you fall?
Be careful.
Okay, I'm going to walk in front of you, so...
That's all right.
I'm going to focus on the little one over there
while I'm down here doing this.
He's got all kinds of dry food up there.
Yeah, I put him some up there.
Hey, let's be nice.
Stop it.
Who's shooting off?
One of the little ones?
I'm going to get the water hose.
Huh?
I told him I was going to get the water hose
if I don't behave.
Oh, the mosquitoes are crazy out here.
Look at them.
Why don't you go in, then?
So you don't get bit, sweetheart.
Yeah.
Here, let me in.
Okay.
These bandits on the top step.
I hear you, sweetheart.
Oh, yeah.
They're going to...
They're going to eat me alive out there.
I don't know why God created them.
Huh?
For some reason.
Not for us to question.
No.
We used to have lots of bats here one time,
but we don't have any anymore.
And they ate the mosquitoes, didn't they?
Oh, yeah.
I used to have bat houses on my...
Old barn.
The old barn.
Yep.
Used to keep them.
Yeah.
Hi, everybody.
There's the other little girl.
He's getting up.
He's coming.
There's the little girl.
What are you going to eat, are you?
Are you having bed and lunch?
Connor.
You going to have bed and lunch?
Are you?
Charlotte.
What?
Charlotte, give me a squeak.
Yeah, one skele got me right in the forehead.
And it's cold out.
It's below 60.
Yeah, it's supposed to get down to 45 tonight.
45?
Fahrenheit, yeah.
It's going down to 12 in the Celsius.
Yeah, we switched over to the metric system back in 1976.
Yep.
And we used to be a mile per hour and everything up here.
And why they did that, I don't know.
It made it confusing for the first few years.
I think it's because the rest of the world is on the metric system.
Huh?
I think it's because the rest of the world is on the metric system.
Yeah.
Oh, and I got a birthday card today.
Yes, Patty Slack.
From California.
Yes.
Yeah, so I'll just give it away to you.
It's not your card, it's mine.
Birthday wishes from Patty Slack in California.
She's so sweet.
And she left me a little note.
Thank you very much, Patty.
We sure appreciate that.
Good night, everybody.
Y'all be good and be safe.
I'll put that there.
Shutting her down.
Yeah.
Off the door so the bear won't get in.
Nope.
Okay.
Bye.
Bye, everybody.
Y'all have a good...
What's tomorrow?
Thursday?
Yeah.
Have a good Thursday.
Yeah.
Thank you.
See you later.
Bye-bye.
