I am a retired RCMP Officer living in a rural setting in Nova Scotia, Canada. I spend my time enjoying nature and feeding my furry friends, the raccoons. I also feed the deer in the winter months and many varieties of birds. I have two rescue cats named Connor and Charlotte.

You behave. You're going to get a spanking. Yes you were. Out here fighting them you
didn't get the food out yet. Hey stop it. I'm coming with it. You're all in a panic, huh?
You're all in a panic, aren't you? You think you're not going to get nothing. Here.
There. There's this little bit. They're all wet from the rain. It's cold out.
Yeah it was 50 degrees. I had to get Angie to put the heat up for some reason. It didn't go up today.
So where's that other little fella go? Huh? The bandit was here late last night so I put
I put a whole package of cookies out and they're all gone within an hour or half hour rather.
Yeah. Here. Here you go. Everybody's happy when they get food.
Huh? Here. Here Cranky. Get that one. Here. Oh you're going to have two, are you?
You can only eat one at a time. Here. Come on over here. Come on. Never mind him. Come on.
You got us? Good. And this is little bit. He never grew much, did he?
Yeah. We pounded the food zone last fall though so he put some meat on them and he got through
the winter so we must have did something right. Normally he would die in the wild
so we saved a life. Even if you just save one that's that means a lot. Here.
I don't know where that other fellow took off. I got four here. So I hear from Angie
twice a day. Twice so far. If you're going to call me again tonight that'll be three times.
Here. Oh you're going to dip over there in the water now, are you? Just so you can shoot your
face off. And Sylvie, she come up with me once but she misses Angie. Here you go. Yeah she misses
her. Oh look who's here. Bandit. What do you think Bandit? I got C-O-O-K-I-E-S here. I got
them ready in the bucket. Don't you bite my toe here. You ready for another one? Here. Oh you.
There he got it. We got one there. He takes two at a time. So Bandit you landed, did you?
Huh? Here you go girl. Oh shut up. He got it.
They always get one. We had Crabby here for a couple years. She growled at everybody.
Yeah. What it is, they think there's about enough food for everybody. There is.
There's a little bit. Yes. Oh I know what you want. You gonna eat that? Here. I'll throw that
another one in the water. There you. You can fish them out of the water. Here's my little fella.
There's Bandit. You want another one? Here you go. What a good little fella.
He's small too. You want me to get the cookies out? Bandit, you want cookies? Do you? You want
cookies? Huh? Last night when I came out, I couldn't believe the June bugs that were all over
the deck here. What a mess. These fellows would eat them up eh? They're kind of stupid flyers.
They run into stuff and fall down. These guys run right over and eat them. But they dig for them
in your lawn. That's the grubs. The grubs are the June bugs. Stop growling. These fellas didn't dig
my lawn this year. Did you? Huh? Here you go. Here. You'll be doing that. Here. Here. Yeah it's
time to get the cookies. Yeah. Time to get the cookies. What she's flopping at there?
She's chasing something. Okay. Here we go. Look what I got. I gotta take those feeders in too.
You want a cookie? You want a cookie? There. Where are you at Bandit? Oh she's over there.
You want a cookie? There you go. Do you want a hot dog? You can have a hot dog.
Here you go little girl. There you go. You gonna? Oh you want a hot dog? Okay just a minute.
Here. Make up your mind what you're going to do will you? You know you're not going to eat them.
You want a cookie? Here. Where's the little bin at? Oh he's right there. Come on. Come on get a
cookie. Here. You got it? Good boy. See you're not eating. All you're doing is eating the cream.
You do that every night. Huh? They eat the cookies up after. You're something else Bandit.
You are something else. You're spoiled rotten for one thing. Aren't you? You're spoiled rotten.
Here. You want another one? Yeah. And you get uh here have a cookie. Or do you want a hot dog?
Here. You want a hot dog? There you go. Yeah he wants a hot dog. All right. You want a cookie?
Want to get it? Go get the cookies. Here. Come on. Go get your cookies. Go get it.
Reach in the bucket. There you go. Oh you got two. You took two. You little hog.
You growled at her. What do you want? A cookie? You want a cookie? Here.
Wanted to give it to you. Here look. Look at her. She's helping herself. I'll throw one over the
side here. Oh somebody chased it. There's somebody there chasing it. We get two on the lawn. So that
makes two, four, six here. Now once the babies come they'll be here. There'll be more bigger crowds.
You got to go get your own. There you go.
You want to get your own? Go in the bucket. That's a good girl. That's a good girl.
What do you want? A hot dog or a cookie? Oh you want a cookie. I'll throw these down there.
Look at her. She's helping herself. You got to learn how to help yourself.
Huh? Two are gone missing there. See you're not even eating those. Look.
Isn't that cute? She took two. Now she's a sweetheart. She's got no mask. You want to try
one? Here. Go get your own. Go get your own. I'm not going to give it to you. You get it.
Your nose can smell them. Look. There. See? Oh you took two. Put the two of them in the water.
There. Bandit's gone. She left with a cookie. She decided to have takeout. She decided to have
takeout. And Connor's at the door. Connor. Connor. I've been terrible dizzy the last
couple of days. I went and laid down there last night and the whole room was spinning and
when I checked my blood pressure it's okay. My heart rate was down so I don't know what's causing
it. But I was, I get up around, I think it was 12 30 when I get up. And then once I get up and I
move it around it's kind of settled again. So when I go to bed I got to stay in bed.
Here. Look. How's that? Isn't that good? They're all running down there. I'll throw some hot dogs
down there. Do you want another cookie? Here. There you go. I'll throw some hot dogs down there.
I, uh, Bobby was here with another one. No, Bobby was there herself and she ate two pounds of hot
dogs. I put, uh, I put the whole pound out and then I come back up and check the pound was gone.
She was still there looking in the window at me. So I threw another pound out. I didn't cut them.
I left them whole. There. You going, you going to get another cookie? Are you all done? And I get a,
oh, when I do the water tomorrow, it's, it's so junky from the cookie stuff, eh?
You want another cookie? Here. You got to take it out yourself. You get it? There you go. Look at
that. Oh, you're so smart. Oh, you didn't like that one. Yeah. So my granddaughter can't wait
to, uh, to see them and feed them this summer. And tomorrow is Sunday. It's my, uh, grandson's
birthday and he lives in, uh, Shoal Harbor, Newfoundland. I used to police that area,
Shoal Harbor, Clare Road, Random Island. That was my, uh, that's where I met their mother there.
She worked for her father in the jewelry store, uh, his grandmother, rather. I haven't met the
mother yet. I'm going to meet her, uh, on my birthday. She's coming down to visit me
at my daughter's place. So you going to have another cookie? Huh? You want another cookie?
Well, can you get one out? I think you had enough. Are you going to take one? All right.
Do you want another cookie? Do you? Bandit took off. These are all what she left behind.
Here. Well, I'll throw those two out there and those two because there's
raccoons down there eating them. I'm going to put them other lights on, uh, tomorrow night.
I got dishes I got to do and clean these buckets. All right. I'll leave one here for you. All right.
And I'll leave one for you. There. And I'll dump these out.
Pull these two down there. There. One fella grabbed the hot dog and he took off in the woods with us.
So that's that. My cat's gotta head to her bed and lunch. I gotta feed Sylvie. She's been good to eat
lately. You stay in there, you. He's right there at the door. Look. Look at him. You're not getting
out. See the sign? Says, watch out for Connor. Watch. Watch the door for Connor. Are you a Connor
cat? Are you? We have to watch the door for you. You a bad pussy cat. And I got dry food I gotta
put out yet. So I'll do that now. There's no cookies with cream, bud. You guys ate them all.
They're going to start eating the other cookies now. Yeah. See, they do eat them.
Yeah. There's still a couple down there running around. Now, you get in there. Get. Get in there.
Get. You get in there, Connor cat. And she's been good. She's been getting up on the
the sink to eat now because I have a hard time bending over putting her food in.
My back's still not 100% yet. So she's been eating up there ever since Angie left. He always
ate up top there. Oh, but I got hard boiled eggs for them. I forgot to put them out. I'll put them
out when I do the dry food. Yes, I forgot all about them. I gotta peel them yet. Hard boiled eggs.
Yeah. And that's what I had two of them for supper and I had some left over for these fellows.
Are you going to have a hard boiled egg? Huh? I used to have a dog when I was growing up. He had
a he had a hard boiled egg with butter every morning. My grandmother made sure he had it.
Yeah, I grew up with my grandparents.
And stellar. Connor cat.
All right, I'll take the dry food out. And anyway, people, we'll see you again tomorrow. Bye for now.
