Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. Summer is officially here in Lower Franconia, Germany
and it feels amazing. My kids are on a two-week school break and we've just been taking things
nice and slow. No rush, not many plans, just living in the moment. You know that feeling
when the sun's shining bright and the world just seems to slow down? That's exactly what
we're embracing right now. We've been cooling down at our local swimming pool and we've attended
some really fun events in our town. There always seems to be something fun happening around here.
Let me introduce you to Charlie, our adorable new kissen who will officially join us next week.
Last week we had the joy of welcoming him for a visit and oh my goodness he is so sweet. Watching
him explore his new home was nothing short of magical. It melted my heart to see how gentle
and kind the kids were with him. We're so in love with him already and cannot wait for him
to join our family. Another huge highlight of summer so far has been our new at-home slushie
machine. This has been an absolute hit, not only with the kids and their friends but also with us
adults. When I have friends and family over to visit, I love being able to offer them an ice-cold
refreshing slushie on a hot day. It's something a little bit special and they really enjoy it.
I ordered the Inoviva slushie machine from Amazon which allows me to make the most delicious
slushies, fruppies, milkshakes, iced coffees and cocktails with or without alcohol. No ice is needed,
I just need to pour in the liquid, choose my setting and wait for the magic to happen.
Oh my goodness, this lemon sprite slushie is nothing short of perfection on this hot 30 degree
day. Absolutely amazing. This is pure nostalgia for me from my childhood in New Zealand. I used
to get a slushie whenever I went to the cinema and it was just so exciting for me. Now I can
just have one whenever I feel like it. At the festivals here in Germany, they usually charge
around three euros for one small slushie. Actually, that's given me an idea. Remember
those homemade lemonade stands back in the day? Maybe my kids could have a slushie stand and hand
them out to the neighbours. That would be so fun. If you're interested in checking out this amazing
slushie machine from Inoviva, I will leave the Amazon link in my video description.
They're currently having a 25% discount going on for a limited time, so don't miss out.
It's Saturday afternoon and my husband Rob is doing some garden work for our sweet neighbour
who lives across the road. Her husband passed away a few years ago and we make sure we help
her out as much as we can. My four-year-old Luca likes to go and hang out with her and
chat while Rob's doing her garden and I think she enjoys it just as much as he does.
Everything is blooming so beautifully right now, especially our rose bush,
which provides me with an endless supply of gorgeous roses for my home all summer long.
They last almost a week after I've picked them and put them into a vase and it seems like the
more I pick, the more they grow, which is so wonderful. My mother-in-law never leaves our
place without taking a big bunch for herself and I don't blame her. Our veggie garden is coming
along very nicely and we already have plenty of lettuce, fresh herbs and I can see our first
zucchinis popping up. In a month or so our veggie garden should be in full bloom with tomatoes,
cucumber, aubergine, zucchini, spinach and much more. This really reduces our grocery
bill during these summer months, which is a huge help for us in this economy,
plus freshly grown produce tastes a million times better.
fries cooked in the air fryer. Such a yummy, quick, easy dinner. Lately I've been reflecting
on how life's simple pleasures bring me the greatest joy. Whether it's soaking up the sun
on a warm afternoon, sharing laughter with family, pottering around in the garden or
whipping up a delicious meal for my family. Thank you so much for watching. If you enjoyed
this video then don't forget to give it a big thumbs up, it really helps out my channel,
it helps to get my videos out there and noticed. If you haven't already subscribed to my channel,
I would absolutely love you to consider subscribing, that would mean so much to me.
Feel free to connect with me on Instagram and I will see you again really soon. Bye!
