#answeredprayers#forgiveness#unforgiveness A main reason that we may not receive answers to our prayers is unforgiveness. Maybe we haven’t forgiven others, or God, or even ourselves. Whoever it is, God commands us to forgive, even if we were hurt and feel justified in our bitterness. God asks us to forgive because He forgave us. And He knows that unforgiveness hinders us from receiving answers to prayers. Let’s choose to forgive, whoever and whatever it is, and walk in freedom and in the path of His full blessings!

I believe God has something something more for us this morning
and um
You know, it's interesting
It seems like most of the time that I have the opportunity to minister
God doesn't let me just choose whatever I want
many times what I end up having to minister on is something where i'm like can't it be something like the favor of god or
God just loves you so much and
You know, you can you're a winner and like I don't know just something that's
Just so encouraging and and no nothing anything that's you know could be uh taken as criticism or correction, but
The truth of the matter is though is that god's word is full of correction
and not just correction but instruction because
You know, it's good to hear when we do a good job. We we everybody appreciates when someone says hey great job
You know, it helps encourage us. But if all we ever heard throughout our lives was great job. You're doing so good. Great job
You're doing so good. You would never feel prompted to make any changes
And if you don't ever make changes, you're you're really not going to progress much in life
You're not going to progress naturally. You're not going to progress financially. You're not going to progress spiritually
and uh
That's not what we're designed human beings. God did not design humans to stay stagnant
he did not design us and create us to just
Coast and float through life and just stay the same
And um everybody here really knows that because any season of life that we stay stagnant we start to get discontent
We we start to get grieved almost because we know that this is not what life is supposed to be like
That's not what god designed us to be like. Amen
Um, so anyways, I said all that to say that today's message was not exactly something I would have picked out
You know to to teach on but I do believe with my heart that it is needed
This morning. I believe that many people here in this building many people maybe that are watching this, you know live or after the fact
This this is a message that we need to hear
Because it will it will bring great help to our lives. Amen
Amen. Amen. Praise the lord. Um
I want to start off reading a statement or a quote from brother hagan
And i'm gonna i'm gonna remove a couple of the words to keep it a mystery
As to what we're going to hit on but you'll you'll know pretty quickly here
But I recently read this in a book and I said wow that
That is just a powerful statement, you know, and and i'll say this, you know, brother hagan. He's not the bible
He's not the word of god
But it's someone that when they've been around for many years and were used by god
You should take note of what they say and this is the statement
He said I know from experience of more than 50 years of ministry
And talking with many thousands of people through through the years on a one-to-one basis
That blank is the main reason why people's faith doesn't work
And blank is the main reason why people fail to receive their healing
Let me say that one more time
He said after 50 years of ministry talking to thousands of people one-on-one
Counseling hearing their story hearing what's going on, you know, brother hagan. Why isn't this working for me?
Why isn't this happening? He said out of all of these years and thousands of people that
This reason is the main one why faith doesn't work and you didn't say it's the only
Right, there could be other what i'm going to talk about today
There could be other reasons why things aren't happening in our lives, but I believe this is a main one
And he says it's also the main reason why people fail to receive their healing
Now, I don't know about you, but I kind of would like to know what that reason is
Would you if you don't we can just leave now, but if you want to know say amen
All right. All right
Praise the lord. Let's go ahead. I want to I want us to turn to colossians chapter 3
colossians chapter 3
amen
And when you get there say amen
All right. Are you guys there?
Just kidding
so colossians 3
in verse 12
It says therefore as the elect of god holy and beloved put on tender mercies
kindness
humility
meekness
long-suffering
Bearing with one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a complaint against another
Even as christ forgave you
So you also must do?
Now, I also want to read ephesians chapter 4
In verse 32 and i'll just start reading it. Um, it says and be kind to one another
tender-hearted
Not hard-hearted
tender-hearted
Forgiving one another even as god in christ forgave you
Now in these two passages
What stands out? It's very clear that god is instructing us to be forgiving to others
And then he points out even as god in christ forgave you
amen
And i'll just go ahead and cut to the chase and then we're going to dive in the main reason
Why people's faith doesn't work why they fail to receive healing probably why they fail to increase financially
Not the only reason a main reason is unforgiveness
Unforgiveness
and you know, um
When when I felt prompted yesterday to start to start, you know studying this and looking into it
Initially, my first thought was that's not what we need to hear
We need to hear about god's goodness the power of words or something, you know
And um, it just wouldn't it just wouldn't go away though, and i'm like, okay, let me let me start looking here
Let me start, you know praying and looking in the word and as I did that
It was almost just a fresh revelation of how important this is
How important this is?
um
It's it is so important. So let's go ahead and keep going here. So let's think about this, right?
What is the main reason why any of us have dealt with unforgiveness?
Let's think about it because no one here has ever gone through a season of life and never felt unforgiveness towards someone
So we can go ahead and put our hands up all of us and say i'm guilty of that
I have definitely been bitter. I've definitely held on to grudges. We've all done it
So nobody needs to feel terrible about it. You know, i'm not i'm not preaching at any one person
We have all been guilty of this. Amen
But we all need to hear this again
We all need to be refreshed on it
But the main reason that I can think of of why we even get offended why we get hurt. Well, I just said it
It's because we're hurt
The reason why we hold on to unforgiveness is because at the root of it. We got hurt
And when you are hurt
You feel so justified in what you feel
They did me wrong
I'm the victim here. They're the ones that did such and such I didn't do anything
And so when you when you feel like you're that victim, it's so easy to feel justified in feeling resentment towards someone
Feeling bitter towards what they did and even though even though years could go by
You may not even think about it all the time, but you may still have that bitterness in your heart
Where if someone mentions that person's name you think of them you see them on social media
instantly that feeling of
We all we all know what i'm talking about
That is unforgiveness
And in these last two passages god said that we are to forgive one another even as he has forgiven us
imagine if god
Treated us the same way that we've treated other people and holding on to things
What if even when we've repented and and asked for forgiveness? He just holds that over us the rest of our lives
God isn't that way if you thought he was that way. He's not
His scripture is very clear on that and we're going to look at it
And so the main reason why people struggle with unforgiveness is that at the root of it?
We've been hurt and eventually that hurt might lead to being angry
And you may even say i'm not hurt. I'm just i'm angry about it
Well, you're angry because you did get hurt and you just don't want to let on
and um
But regardless of what the reason is
God's word is very clear. We're not to hold on to that and it's not just because
You know, I think sometimes when it comes to the word of god, you know
when you hear about the ten commandments and all the things we're not supposed to do it can just feel like a checklist of
Tour like I have to just do this. I have to be kind I have to do this and that
It's not just to have rules
It's because god knows that if we violate those rules the the laws that have been set in motion for our universe
The door is open to the devil anytime we don't abide by those things
It's not because he's trying to prevent us from just having free will enjoying life. It's because
God has created everything. He's set up the whole system
And there's certain rules and guidelines that if you follow those life will go well for you life will go smooth
But when you violate god's word you you you just remove his protection over your life
And unforgiveness at the root of it is sin
It's sin
There's a lot of other sins, but it's sin and it's something that we we should not be okay with holding on to in our life
um
So let's go ahead and we're gonna we're gonna go and look at another passage here. Um,
Go ahead and turn with me to matthew chapter 18
Matthew chapter 18 I wrote I wrote down here. Um, and I think this is one of the main reasons
Why unforgiveness is is harmful to our lives is because I don't know how many of have heard this saying hurt people
hurt people
Right who's heard that saying before hurt people hurt people
and
It is very true. And and there's another saying that many have heard here is that unforgiveness is like drinking poison
And waiting for the other person to die
And if if you can assess your own life
You know the way I look at it
There's three ways that you could have unforgiveness
You could have unforgiveness and bitterness towards another person or multiple people
Right and and some some might be here saying, you know, i've forgiven everyone. I don't have anything against anyone
Okay, a second thing is you could have unforgiveness towards god
And you could say well, what do you mean god god's never done anything wrong he's perfect
Yeah, he is you can be offended and you can have unforgiveness towards someone that did you know wrong
You may think that they did
But there are a lot of people that are mad at god
And the reason why they're mad at god and a lot of them have become atheists and all that
The reason why they're mad is because they got hurt
and they
Believed that god let that happen
That's the root of it it was hurt though, it wasn't they just started off out of nowhere. I just hate god
No, there was a cause there's a reason why they felt that way, right?
And so you have to look at the root of it
But god is perfect god is just in in many times when we get hurt
It's because the devil brought a way of thinking to us and we decided to believe it
And we started to think about it and we thought about it more and then we talked about it
And then we talked to other people and before you know it we're so rooted in this
anger and bitterness
And god had nothing to do with it
And and he's and now you've just separated yourself from the one person
That could change your situation and and bring those feelings of forgiveness to you
But there are many people out there
That have gotten bitter with god and it cuts them off from his blessings
It cuts them off from his goodness which just further validates the feelings that they have and it's just this
This snowball effect and and i'm sure many people here have have maybe known someone that way. Maybe you've been that person
You know, i'm not gonna i'm not gonna act like i'm perfect. There's been times in my life where I got upset with god
Oh brother tim
You're a preacher
Yeah
We're we're not perfect
and
And I understand why that can happen I understand the reasons why someone could come to that conclusion
But i'll just tell you right now
It's deception
You're deceived if you believe that that's the truth and and god doesn't want you to stay in that
He he wants you to to let go but so I said the first reason that we have
Unforgiveness is toward other people. The second is god
And the third you can say well I'm i'm good with god I don't have anything against anyone else
Well, the last person that you can have unforgiveness towards is yourself
And there are probably a lot of people here that that might fit you a little bit more than the others
because
We when we miss it and when we make mistakes we may repent we may say god, please forgive me
But we continue to be aware of what we did
And we don't let ourselves off the hook
We don't let ourselves actually
You know, let's do this. I want to look at um,
Let's see here. I want to look at one scripture. We're gonna go actually we're gonna skip over matthew
I'm jumping through the notes here. Let's go to isaiah
really quickly
Say amen if you're listening amen
See man, why can't I just talk about the favor of god it's just
Got to talk about unforgiveness and bitterness and
It's because we need it though. Yeah
so isaiah 43
And verse 25
It says I even I
Am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake
And I will not remember your sins
I will not remember your sins
Hebrews 8 verse 12 says for I will be merciful to their unrighteousness
And their sins and their lawless deeds. I will remember no more
true forgiveness
According to god according to his word the way god forgives us is he forgets it?
He remembers it no more. He doesn't bring it up every day and remind you of well, I forgave you but remember you did this
I know you're forgiven but
Remember how you did that yesterday? You really you really don't deserve god's blessings in your life
You know you asked for forgiveness, but man, I can't believe you did that. You really you're probably not going to get healed
That's what we that's those are the thoughts that we have at times
and
um, oh, thank you, baby
Those are those are the thoughts that we have but see bible forgiveness is forgetting
So if we can have unforgiveness towards ourselves because we won't forget our past mistakes
We won't forget the things that we have done wrong
And what that does is it prevents us from actually being able to receive from god?
Because that unforgiveness even though it's it's not towards other people. It's towards ourselves
Amen
Man, y'all are getting super quiet this morning
Praise the lord
Praise god, I know I I was chewing yesterday. So
Praise the lord. I know we need to hear this
because
God god really made it clear to me that there are a lot of people
you know and and I and I think I myself am included in this group that
We have been cut off from the blessings that god has for us to a degree
I'm, not saying we don't have any good things, but the fullness of god's blessing his goodness his healing his peace his joy
It's somewhat cut off from us because we have unforgiveness whether it's towards other people whether it's slightly towards god
I don't care if you're at church. I don't care if you prayed yesterday. You can still have bitterness towards god
And you can have it towards yourself
And um regardless of who it's towards the bible is clear
We're not supposed to have it
And when we hold on to that it is going to negatively affect our lives in one way
And and for all of us it may be different and like I said, it doesn't mean that we won't have any goodness
We won't have any things
But I I know
That we are not living in the fullness of what god has for us when we allow that in our lives and in our heart
Amen
Let's go ahead now and turn back to matthew chapter 18
matthew chapter 18
I mean i'm very familiar with this passage but
Reading this the other day. It just stood out to me so much more and i'm like wow that
If you read that and you really believe it
You're going to have a hard time deciding to hold on to unforgiveness
Because it's a very sobering thing matthew chapter 18
In verse 21
Says then peter came to him to jesus and said lord
How often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him up to seven times?
Jesus said to him. I do not say to you up to seven times but up to 70 times seven
Therefore and then he goes on to you know go into a parable
Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants
And when he had begun to settle accounts one was brought to him who owed him 10 000 talents
Now on the amplified in parentheses, it says probably about 10 million
But we've had inflation lately. So maybe more. All right
It's a lot of money. The average person will not even produce that in their lifetime
Okay, and this is what this this servant
um owes
And um, and when he began to settle accounts one was brought to him who owed him 10 000 talents
But as he was not able to pay his master commanded that he'd be sold
With his wife and children and all that he had and that payment be made
The servant therefore fell down before him saying master have patience with me and I will pay you all
Then the master of that servant was moved with compassion
Released him and forgave him the debt. Now how many recognize this is god?
Jesus is saying the kingdom of god is like this and then he's referring to this this king this master
Which is god and god had compassion
Released him and forgave him the debt
But that servant went out
And found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii
And he laid hands on him and took him by the throat saying pay me what you owe
In some ways you could look at as
You did me wrong i'm not forgetting that I will never forget what that person did to me
So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him saying have patience with me and I will pay you all
And he would not but went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt
Verse 31
So when his fellow servants saw what had been done
They were very grieved
And came and told their master all that had been done
Then his master after he had called him said to him you wicked servant
I forgave you all that debt because you begged me
Should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant?
Just as I had pity on you and his master was angry and delivered him to the torturers until he should pay all that
Was due to him
Now listen to this. This is in the new testament
verse 35
Jesus finished it all up with this
So my heavenly father also will do to you if each of you from his heart does not forgive his brother his trespasses
Now i'm not going to dive into a deep study in theology on this, you know, um
But that's a sobering statement
for jesus to say
You know because the bible says if we confess our sins
He's faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness
But what if we confess our sins? Thank you lord. I ask you for your forgiveness, but we refuse to forgive someone else
This passage says so my heavenly father also will do to you
If each of you from his heart does not forgive his brother his trespasses
That's a serious thing and i'll just let you chew on that for a minute
But if you read that and you still think to yourself, I don't care. I'm just going to keep holding on to this
That's a dangerous place to be
That's dangerous
And um
We none of us none of us should should be willing
To go on and and here's the thing going back to what I said earlier
The root cause was hurt though. And so that's how we can justify feeling certain things and sometimes we can hurt ourselves
Honestly, we can be hurt with what we did. I can't believe I did that, you know
I'm such an idiot and and we just cave in on ourselves and we refuse to let it go
We've refused to just repent say lord. I ask you to forgive me
I I put it under the blood right now and lord. I am moving on and i'm forgetting it
I'm forgetting what happened. It's a fresh start right now
We it's it's we don't let ourselves do that, but i'm telling you right now. Not only does god want you to forgive yourself
He commands you to forgive yourself
And and and it's talking about if you don't forgive your brother, but if you don't forgive yourself
You know many times that could be why you are living with
A discontentment you're living almost feeling like you're doing all the right steps. You're still coming to church
You're still spending time praying, but you just feel like something is not connected here. I i'm I still feel
Disconnected from god and I don't know why
This might be why?
And and it can be so subtle, you know
The bible says it's the little foxes that spoil the vine and sometimes it's these little things in our life
That are what's really tripping us up and preventing us from moving forward. Amen
See forgiving forgiving other people forgiving god forgiving ourselves. It's not just for their benefit
You know it's for
It's for our benefit. Like I said, it's like if you when you hold unforgiveness and bitterness and resentment
It is like drinking poison and it's toxic and guess what else will happen
You know some people say well, you know if it hurts me whatever that's fine, you know, i'll just i'll just grunt and bear it
But there's no way for you to hold on to unforgiveness and and only have it hurt you
Most of the time it probably won't even hurt the person that we're offended with
But who it will hurt is those closest to us that love us
Because you can't go through your life having unforgiveness in your heart and not have that poison that toxicity
Spill out over time in your words and in your actions and those will affect people close to you
Those will affect the people that you love
Amen
We don't want that. Amen
We do not want that i'm just thinking how sobering this is
um
But we need to hear it. I need to hear it. And like I said every person here, you know
There could be someone sitting here. There could be someone watching on tv where um, they're thinking hey
I don't have any of these issues then praise god
You have you have very few things tripping you up from being able to receive everything god has for you
But I think many people here
Have those little things that we just haven't let go
Amen, i'll give you guys an example. So growing up, you know throughout
I guess throughout middle school throughout high school. There was a particular guy
That became just a straight up bully
and um, it wasn't even a situation where
You know
There was there was one time that he even tried to pick a fight and tried to beat me up and he lost
and so it wasn't even someone that was domineering over me, but
Really? I could have looked at that situation and felt like I wasn't hurt. It didn't bother me
I just think he's a jerk but years and years later when I was in bible school
I was in the spirit praying for maybe a couple hours and I don't and I haven't done that very often
And out of all that like you think I would get some revelation I'd get some deep thing
And the thing that came to me so clearly was you need to forgive that person
And I thought to myself I haven't even thought about this for years
Yet god saw fit to bring that to my remembrance to say you need to forgive and let that go
Because this is how you know if you've really forgiven someone
if
Even if you don't think about them hardly ever if someone brings up their name
Or you hear about them or you see something about them if the first thing that comes to you is
resentment or
Getting upset or you know, just disgust
You are still holding on to unforgiveness
and
It's it's a tough thing, you know it because a lot of times like I said
It's because we've been so wronged and we've been hurt
But we have to believe and understand that holding on to that is not hurting anyone
More than it hurts you
And and when you hold on to that, you know as much as you feel like they don't deserve it
They don't deserve to be forgiven. That may be the case. Maybe they don't deserve it, but you deserve to let it go
You deserve to let it go just like the movie frozen
Just let it go amen who knew that that was a scriptural movie at that part no
and
Because holding on to it is going to affect your life. It's going to affect those closest to you
It's going to affect your relationship with god
It's going to it's going to hinder you from receiving healing from receiving peace from walking in joy
It affects every area of your life
And you maybe didn't even recognize it which is why I feel like god emphasized people need to hear this this morning
amen
praise the lord
Praise the lord hallelujah. Um
Hallelujah, um, this is what I want to say
If there's any person here
any person here that that you're identifying that there may be
Some unforgiveness that you have in your heart whether it's towards someone else towards yourself
Maybe even a little bit towards god, you know
and um
God doesn't want us to have that in our lives
He doesn't want us to to be to be hindered and held back with unforgiveness. Amen
I'm going to do something a little bit different. Can everybody stand up with me right now if you can
Praise the lord
Thank you father. Thank you father
I I wanted to do this at the end
But if you don't want to forgive if you don't feel like you have anything to that's fine
but before before I finish I just I feel like there's just someone at least one person that's just ready to just
Forgive and just move forward right now instead of waiting another minute
So I just want to give every person the opportunity right now
Just if you want to go ahead and lift your hands
And just repeat this after me father
right now
I make the decision
to forgive
to forgive that person
to forgive you
to forgive myself
Of what was done
And father I ask for your help
To forgive right now
And lord, I know
that your word says
That if I don't forgive
That you won't forgive me
And I want to be forgiven I want to be cleansed and so right now
I choose to forgive
And let go
of all bitterness
resentment
offense
anger
And I cast it into the sea of forgetfulness
And I thank you so much
for a fresh start
right now
In jesus name amen, why don't you go ahead and be seated?
Praise the lord praise the lord. Um
We're not going to go too much longer today. I know this will be a shorter shorter service, but um
It's a lot to chew on it's a lot to take and and so we're gonna we're gonna go to one other passage here
Turn with me to mark chapter 11
mark chapter 11
Thank you lord
So I want to read the statement again from brother hagan one more time
It says I know from experience of more than 50 years of ministry
And talking with many thousands of people through the years on a one-to-one basis
That unforgiveness is the main reason why people's faith doesn't work
And unforgiveness is the main reason why people fail to receive their healing
Now if you flip that into the positive sense you could say
Walking in forgiveness is a main reason why your faith will work
Walking in forgiveness is a main reason why you will receive your healing
Because if you forgave right now from your heart and let me say this
Choosing to forgive is a step of faith because sometimes your emotions still don't feel it
But what you have to do just like when you confess your sins to god
Sometimes you don't feel forgiven you have to believe the word over your feelings
And so when you choose to forgive the thoughts may still come and those feelings may still come against them
And that doesn't mean oh, I haven't forgiven. Oh, i'm i'm worthless. I'm never going to have my faith work
No, no, no, that's just the devil trying to give you those lies regardless of what you feel
You have to just remind yourself and say out loud like no I forgave them
And I forgave them because I want to be forgiven by god
He he forgave me of all my sins all my craziness all of my past. He washed it in his blood
And forgave me and because of that I am choosing to forgive this person
And you have to remind yourself of that because you can't you can't be moved by your feelings
I think I shared this story recently or or someone else did in the last month or two
but there was a story of a woman that
That knocked on brother hagan's door at like two in the morning
And she came there and she's oh brother hagan brother hagan and i'll probably butcher the story
But just the main points we'll get across and essentially he's like what is oh, I just you know, you know, I
I don't remember what she even said exactly other than she came into the house. He brought her
Okay, we'll come in sister and she said oh brother hagan. I just feel I just feel so lost
I feel so, you know disconnected from god or something to that effect and he said well, what is it?
What is it you done sister?
Let's just repent get under the blood and move on and she's like well, I don't I don't know if i've done anything
and he said
Like what? I don't know
Like are you kidding me? It's two in the morning or three in the morning and you're coming here and you don't even know
What you did wrong?
And and and I think something to the effect of she said I just don't feel saved anymore and he said I don't either
I don't either right now
i'm tired
And what he ended up doing is he is he is he led her and showed her he said he started started worshiping god father
I thank you. I worship you
and and just
You know operating by faith essentially not your feelings because he didn't feel saved in that moment either. She didn't feel saved
No, no one's feeling saved around here
But regardless of what they felt in their feelings and emotions
He chose
To worship god. He chose to put his attention on him and before long all of a sudden
Joy is bubbling up from the inside and guess what? He feels saved
Did he go from not being saved temporarily back to being saved again
Because his feelings felt like he wasn't and then he was no no and just like you may feel
Like I still don't forgive that person don't pay any attention to it
You are forgiving you're making that statement and you are just thanking god that you forgive them
That you're letting it go because you want to be forgiven
You want the blessings of god and you have to just keep telling yourself as long as it takes
And I guarantee you I promise you if you do that you will eventually feel
And it you'll sense that feeling of you. Let it go now
That doesn't necessarily mean you let people back into your life
You know, there's definitely some cases where you let it be you're not trying to like be close with them per se
But it needs to be where when you think of them
It should get to the point where you don't feel any ill will and you may even say lord
I just hope that you keep working in their life
I I you know, I prayed that lord you would continue to bless them that you would show yourself real to them
And pray for them
Instead of feel a certain way towards them
And when you do that if you if you pray for someone i've heard this said before
You can't stay offended at someone that you pray for every day
And if you are hurt by someone if you are bitter towards someone as hard as it may seem by the grace of god
Decide to pray for them every day. I don't care if it's a five second prayer father. God bless him. Amen, you know
Just bless them lord if you keep that before you eventually you'll be like
Lord I ask you to bless them, you know, and you'll eventually actually start meaning it
But in the beginning just just do it by faith and i'm telling you it will start to work. Amen
So mark 11 in verse 23
It says for assuredly I say to you whoever says to this mountain be removed and be cast into the sea
And does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done
He will have whatever he says most people here know we we hit this passage a lot. This is faith
This is believing god for something speaking it it shall come to pass in verse 24
Therefore I say to you whatever things you ask when you pray
Believe that you receive them and you will have them praise god close the bible. We're moving on
That's how most people do it but you got to keep reading
And whenever you stand praying whenever you're bringing these requests before god
Whenever you're standing in faith for something when you stand praying if you have anything against anyone
It doesn't say if you have really serious things against anyone
The really major stuff, you know those little peddly things that you can hold on to that, you know, god god knows like
No, it says if you have anything against anyone just a little tiny thing
Forgive him
If you have anything against anyone forgive him
And again here we're saying we're seeing this, uh this passage that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses
But if you do not forgive
Neither will your father in heaven forgive your trespasses
How I mean we've already looked at four passages where the bible was very explicitly clear if we don't forgive
We aren't forgiven. Amen
There's not just one scripture that says that and and and you know, oh you can't make a doctrine on that
It's very clear. God does not want us holding on to any unforgiveness towards people
And really the main reason why we shouldn't is because it will cut off the blessings of god from our life. Is there anybody here?
That you are believing god for something
anybody
If you're not then you probably should start believing for something
Because like I said at the beginning, you know, we're not designed to be stagnant
We're not designed to not be growing and if you're not believing for anything
Probably not doing something right there
So I know we just didn't all raise our hands
But the point i'm making is that we all have something that we are believing god for maybe we're believing god for healing in our body
Maybe we're believing god for
Healing in our minds, you know, maybe we just were tormented at times
You know, maybe it's something where we need finances to come in. We need a breakthrough. We need you know
Whatever it is that we need to happen
I believe that what brother say brother hagan said is true that this is the main reason
It may not be the real i'll give this disclaimer. It's possible that there's something else. That's not this that's hindering you from receiving
Okay, that is a very real possibility
But I do think for many people
That this could actually be the main hindrance right now to you receiving from god
And it's interesting because I know that even if we've had unforgiveness or bitterness
God is so merciful and good that there are still times that we receive blessings and we have things happen
So we can almost be tricked into thinking we're okay because i've had i've got done some good things. That's great
But the fullness of what he has for you
Is being limited?
As long as you choose to hold on to that now, I know I already led everyone here in a prayer
And I believe that if you did that with your heart
That you have forgiven and guess what that means that today is a fresh start
Praise god. It's a fresh start whether you feel like it right now or not
You have to make the decision that yes, I have chosen to forgive and it is a fresh start lord
I thank you that you forgive me and you know, I was thinking about it
When it when it comes to forgiving ourselves as well, you know, if you're a perfectionist like me
You don't like it when you make mistakes
You don't like it when you mess up
You don't like it when you're not perfect. Come on. I'm I need to be perfect lord
And maybe not maybe not a lot of people like that
But you know for me, I think the hardest thing i've had to deal with is forgiving myself
And sometimes it's not even this big thing. It's not like a devastated lives
It's just it's something small that you're just man, you know, you're just upset that you did that
And even if you've repented and I mean i'm putting myself on blast here, but I think it's because it'll help someone
Is that when you don't let that go and you don't just move on it will hinder you from believing god for things
Because your faith is not working, right? You know
Amen
Okay, good. All right, just everyone's thinking here. Wow, brother. Tim is just a sinner. No
I'll just tease it
We've all been there let's be honest we've all been there and god wants us he he doesn't just
He doesn't just permit us to forgive ourselves like all right fine
You can forgive yourself and forget it. I guess it's like no
please
Forgive yourself and let it go and forget it and move on. He's imploring you and and
Commanding you instructing you forgive
And let it go. Amen, whether it's somebody else whether it was feelings that you had towards god, whether it's to yourself
I don't care who it is
Learn to just let it go and i'm telling you what that can just change your life
It can just change your situation that you've been going through don't hold on to things anymore. Amen
amen
And faith comes by hearing so i'll say this
if you've heard this whole message and there's just still something on the inside of you that
It's just like you feel like you can't do it. Listen to this message again go online and listen to it again because
As you hear the word and you hear the word and you hear the word it will get big in you to the point
Where you just can't help it
Lord, I forgive them. So if you're still at a place where you just
Because i'll be honest whether it's any subject in the bible
There are many times that i'll sit in a service and i'll hear the word
And you know, I would like to just receive it and act on it right now
But I don't it hasn't dropped in me yet, right?
So if there's anyone here that you're hearing this and you know, what's true you believe it
But it's it's like the faith has not come yet to really do it. Like, you know, you need to
I was gonna say that's okay. I mean it's it's not okay, but if that's where you're at hear it again
Don't don't be upset. Don't you know, don't not forgive yourself about that, too
Just go ahead and decide
I'm gonna hear this again. I'm gonna listen to it again
I'm gonna listen to it again because the word in these scriptures will bring us to a place
Where we we can't help but make the decision and when we do when we truly forgive and let go
And start seeing other people and start seeing ourselves the way god does which is forgetting the sin washing it away
You know god is a just god. He's not just merciful
He's just the reason why he can look at us and actually continue to bless us is because he does have to forget it
He forgives us washes it away and in his eyes
It's like we never missed it and that's how we need to treat other people so that we can be receiving that from god. Amen
praise the lord
Hallelujah. Well, why don't you all stand up with me?
Praise god. Will you help this morning?
Praise the lord
Hallelujah often. Oh, oh, that's right. That's right. Praise the lord
Thank you father glory to god
Hallelujah
See the the beauty is that if we have forgiven I want to just hit this again because it's it's still a little bit somber
once we forgive
Whether we forgive others or forgive ourselves and move on
We know that we can start receiving all that god has for us whether it's joy whether it's peace
Whether it's that financial breakthrough that you've been believing for whether it's health or healing in your body
You are going to be qualified to receive that again. Amen
and that that's something that needs to be exciting to you that
This is not going to hold you back anymore. This is not going to be a hindrance to your life anymore. Amen
praise the lord
hallelujah
