Bonjour! Summer is slowly coming to an end here and the grape harvest has started here in the vineyards around the Côtes de Beaune and the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. The summer has sure flown by again this year. I am excited for my book project that I'll be working on this fall and winter! Thank you all so much for being here! Watch me garden with the help of my cat and enjoying the calm before the storm! Love, Marloes

I came back home after spending a week
in the Netherlands. And I came home to
find my garden a little greener than
when I left since we had a bit of rain
while I was gone. Finally, after weeks
of drought
this year, my garden is full of
surprises again. I have sewn cosmos and
zenyas, and I even bought some, but they
don't really seem to thrive. Like other
years, when I didn't pay a lot of
attention to them, they were thriving,
and now I was doing everything right and
I hardly have any blooms. The rose
garden that I planted with my mom in the
spring, however, looks really, really
wonderful. And I'm so enjoying all the
beauty of it.
I've had so much nigella everywhere this
spring and summer. I don't really know
where it came from, but it was so
beautiful. So, I am just learning to
admire whatever surprises and beauty my
garden gifts me.
I also planted dalas this year and it
looks like they are starting to bloom.
So, I can't wait to see how these turn
out.

It feels good to be back at my quiet
home here in the French countryside. It
is the calm before the storm as the
grape harvest will start very soon and
our boys will go back to school after
the weekend. So, I am just taking in the
last summer holiday vibes.
This summer I took one of our guests to
a local museum. It's called Laab
and it shows dishwear that is produced
and was produced locally here in
Burgundy. And I thought it would be a
perfect opportunity to take one of our
guests who is just as crazy about
brokant dishwear as I am to this museum
and see their collection.
So you think it's the woman women
picking out a man from a man from the
tree?
This museum was actually quite
surprising. It had lots of ceramic
objects that we initially didn't
understand what it was for. So, it was
good that there were signs. So, if you
ever come to visit this region and
you're interested in ceramics, it will
really be interesting to go to this
charming little local museum.

The grape harvest, the von come early
this year and they mark la, which is
what the French call the end of the
summer holidays and the return to the
routines of school and work. The wine
villages and the cities of Bon and Djour
are still buzzing with tourists as this
region doesn't really have an off season
and the vineyards are full of activity.
Vans driving around everywhere bringing
the harvested grapes to the wineries.
It's all in preparation for the 2025
vintage. Once the harvest is complete,
the next major event on our calendars
here in this region is the Vont Dean at
the Ospun, a world-renowned wine auction
that draws people from across the globe
and it happens at the end of November.
It brings festivities and joy to Boone
as we slowly prepare for a long winter.
I have a full schedule of meetings in
the coming weeks as I continue working
on my new book. I'll be writing about
the iconic products of this region, its
wine culture, and the traditions that
surround it.

The months ahead. head promised to be
filled with inspiring encounters and a
deeper understanding of the gastronomy
and the rhythms of life in my beautiful
burgundy wine country. I can't wait to
share this all with you when my new book
comes out next year. As always, I thank
you so much for watching and for being
here, and I will see you next week with
a new video.
