So let's get right into it.
Disney Parks' blog actually made a huge post with some news that really affects a lot
of the things going on, festivals and parties and whatnot, for the rest of the year.
And as we expected, there are some huge changes that are going to take place to some of those
offerings.
So let's dive right into the post that they made on the official, again, Disney Parks
blog.
First of all, they start talking about the additional safety measures and things that
they're going to be doing to keep guests safe, which we've heard a lot about that, but we're
really glad that they're doing it.
But the thing that a lot of people wondered about was how they're going to handle the
food and wine festival.
Flower and Garden Festival got cut off very, very early due to COVID-19.
And so people were wondering, are they going to cancel food and wine altogether or are
they going to offer it in a modified format?
How are they going to do that?
So the good news is we've now found out that they are going to have it and it's actually
going to be extended.
So we go down to the next part of the blog post.
It's going to start on July 15th, right on the same day that Epcot opens.
It's going to offer over 20 global marketplaces.
It has some listed there and all kinds of different things.
So that's really good.
They're going to have it so early.
Normally it starts in August, but here they're starting it in July.
So it's really awesome.
We get to enjoy more food and wine festival.
I do hope that they really enforce the social distancing in the queues because food and
wine, as a lot of, you know, can get really, really busy now, of course they are going
to be limiting capacity in the park.
So hopefully that will help, but some of those food and wine festival lines can get very,
very crowded.
So I do hope that they have a really good plan for that.
And I'm sure that they do.
However, one big change there is that the Eat to the Beat concert series is actually
not going to happen this year.
So they're saying we will not be able to host those concerts this year.
They really just get too crowded and they're not going to be able to get enough people
in.
People will be very upset.
The band would play three times and you wouldn't get nearly enough people in to see the show
if you wanted to maintain proper social distancing.
So they're showing that they're going to have all the other different entertainment around
the world, Mariachi Cobre, Jameters, and things like that, but they definitely won't be able
to accommodate the Eat to the Beat.
So that is disappointing, but understandable in this current situation.
But the really, really huge news is on down the post just a little bit here.
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is cancelled for this year.
And you can see, you know, with the stage shows, parades, and fireworks, there's just
no way they can do that in this unprecedented environment.
So they're cancelling that, and they're also cancelling the H2O Glow Nights at Typhoon Lagoon.
Obviously not as big of a deal as Mickey's Not So Scary, but still a cancellation.
I completely understand this.
Obviously, you know, you come to Not So Scary for the stage shows, the parade, and the fireworks.
I mean, the candy is fun, the atmosphere, and getting on attractions with lower weights
is fun.
But honestly, the parties have gotten more and more crowded every year because they are
so popular.
Fireworks and parade, such a big deal and such a big part of the party.
So if they cancelled those, then the party ticket really wouldn't have a lot of value.
So I totally understand this.
I think a lot of people were expecting it.
And then on down the post, they talk about Very Merry Christmas Party and Festival of
the Holidays.
So obviously, they're kind of saying here, it's really too soon to make a call on what
they're going to do on this.
And so, you know, if things go well, you know, with the virus in the fall, they probably,
and things go down, the cases go down, they probably will think about maybe hosting these
in a modified format.
But if it was up to me to guess whether they're going to have it or not, I would say it's
pretty unlikely that they will have at least the Christmas party.
They may do the Festival of the Holidays in a modified form, but I just really doubt that
they would do the Very Merry Christmas Party if they don't feel safe having fireworks and
parades because again, those are the really important parts of these festivals.
So obviously, very disappointing news, you know, the Halloween party, the Christmas party
are highlights of the year for everyone.
Obviously, we're not having July 4th fireworks in a couple weeks because the parks won't
be open.
So a lot of things really changed because of COVID-19.
And of course, these are disappointing to Disney fans.
A lot of, you know, things are more important to worry about in the world right now than
these parties.
We understand that.
But I think we still need to acknowledge that it is disappointing for people who've been
looking forward to these types of trips and especially needing a break after all the things
going on in this very difficult year.
So I did want to bring that to everybody.
If you didn't see the Disney Parks blog post, give a little discussion about it and a little
breakdown.
What do you think about these changes?
Do you agree with Disney?
Do you disagree?
Do you think that they could have had them and still modified them?
Or do you think that Disney did the right thing?
The tickets really wouldn't be worth it without those offerings or they wouldn't be able to
socially distance it enough to make it safe for everyone.
So what do you think?
