Today I want to talk to you about a door lock, smart door lock, that I actually just finished
installing on my basement door and it is from Snugspot.
I picked up this lock because we have a pet sitter that we use sometimes and it's not
always the same one and I just got tired of leaving spare keys or giving out my code and
now I can actually just go into the app, unlock the door, lock the door, feel that much more
confident and that much more protected.
This smart lock has built-in Wi-Fi, fingerprint reader, touchscreen keypad, it works with
an app, it comes with two keys and also two fobs and it actually has an emergency USB
port on the bottom so in case your batteries run out, you can still access your lock.
Keep in mind that it requires four AA batteries that do not come with this lock.
This lock comes with a handle set, I actually installed those handles on a different door
in my home.
Installation of this lock was fairly simple, I just followed the manual, very easy to read,
very easy to understand, I already had all the existing holes in the door so I didn't
need to create any holes but it does come with templates if you do need to put the holes
in your door.
The installation took me about 15 minutes, I already had the Tuya app, there's a QR code
that you can scan it and get it for your iOS or for Android.
The app actually auto-detected the lock, began setup, I was done in a couple minutes, up
and running then I went ahead and just programmed it, added my fingerprints, added passcode,
set up the auto-lock.
There is also a little speaker and some voice prompts that will let you know when it's unlocked
and locked and connected.
The lock is very intuitive, just touching the screen it will bring up the keypad and
you can go ahead and access it with the keypad.
As I mentioned you can use your fingerprint and unlock it that way and there is a little
compartment that if you do turn it, you're able to use a standard key to be able to access
your lock.
It also comes with the key fobs that are also programmed within the app, so if you do decide
to use them, once again, super simple process to set them up.
I like the look of this lock, I like its functionality, it looks like it's built to last a while.
So bottom line, if you are in the market for a door lock, whether it's for indoor or outdoor,
that's smart, bunch of different options, you could lock it and unlock it remotely using
the app from wherever you are.
