We are finally back on the road and back to creating long form youtube videos!! After taking a break and renovating a camper we are so excited to be back traveling. We are going to Canada in a few weeks and then explore the Pacific North West and hopefully make our way to Baja this winter. So we will have tons of videos to create along the way! What kind of videos would you like us to make besides documenting our journey???
After being stationary for eight or nine months we are finally hitting the road.
We are very ready to go. We have spent the last eight months with family which has been really
great and we've completely renovated a camper and now we are ready to spend our summer in the
mountains. So first stop is Mount Rushmore and then after that we're headed up to Banff and we're
really excited to spend our five-year anniversary there but you don't know what you have until it's
gone. So we're ready to be in the mountains again. Yeah we're both kind of nervous but
very ready so we're gonna leave here in about 10 minutes once the rain dies down.
Ollie's ready to go too. Yeah he is. We've got the jeep hooked up and we're ready to go. This year
is going to be a lot better and more comfortable since we have the jeep. We're really looking
forward to having it on the road now. We stopped at a Lubs because Tyler is dumping our tanks.
After almost two years of living on the road
Tyler has not once made me have to do this and that's a good man.
We just got some gas. It's a very hot day today. Got the generator running and both AC units
running here. Let's go to Omaha. Oh that's so exciting. We just got to where we're gonna be
spending the night tonight. Tyler got us here safely. Yep. I actually fell asleep for a little
bit. Did you really? Yeah I was so, I don't know why, I was so tired. You were knocked. Yeah I was. Ollie
actually ditched me and he went under the couch for a bit. You went under the couch. But we actually are staying
at a Camping World. We asked for permission first. Tomorrow we will drive across the state of South
Dakota so that'll probably be like a four hour drive to the Black Hills. It'll be fun though when
we get there. All right we are leaving Camping World now. We're officially heading the road.
So hungry. I'm starving. We got to Lubs a little bit ago. We're actually staying at one of the
locations that's actually an RV resort which is pretty cool. We paid about $40 and we have
hookups so we have AC tonight which is wonderful because it's really hot. So I got some Subway.
I got some Godfather's Pizza and we're gonna sit here and we're going to
enjoy some Friday Night Lights. See how he doesn't do this to me, he only does this to you.
Is that your first time trying a nitro? Yeah. It is pretty good. You need to learn how to make this.
I think you need really expensive equipment to do that. It's really good. Well this morning Madison
went inside Lubs and took a shower and we got some coffee. Obviously she got a nitro which is
really good. Today we're headed to see some prairie dogs. I guess there's a place, I don't know what
they call it, a prairie dog farm or something where you can go and feed the prairie dogs.
That's been Madison's dream. It's been on her bucket list but we're gonna make some breakfast
and get on the road. I think it's like two hours so we'll be there pretty shortly.
Full time, neutral. Okay, let's try it out.
Drive to test it, shut it off, put it in park, and ready to go.
We are out here fulfilling Madison's lifelong dream of feeding a prairie dog.
They just, I want it to eat from my hand. I don't know if they will, they seem a little timid.
I bet too many people try to grab them. This little, there's a baby prairie dog.
Yeah, he got a little closer. I have hope and my bag keeps scaring him so I think that if I just
crack them all open already, yeah, then he won't get scared.
It's a big old prairie dog. The only downside about coming into small places like this is
having to unhook just to fit. Well that's only because somebody was parked in front of us. Yeah
that's true and I didn't want to, I couldn't really do a good loop right there so, but we can
pull forward and hook up and then drive out this way. We are stopped for the day. We were going to
stay at a Walmart but then there were no overnight parking signs everywhere so we are now at a Pilot
J's and we're parched near some trailers. Time to get this leveled out. Yeah. And I'm gonna start
on making us some dinner. Oh you're so strong.
You win. We are about to hit the road. We're going to Route Mushmore.
Okay, Mount Rushmore. Going to Mount Rushmore. And then we're gonna go to Devil's Tower after that.
Oh, Ollie. Ollie's excited.
Unfortunately dogs are not allowed at Mount Rushmore so we'll have to stay in the RV.
You're not fitting here buddy, I'm sorry. Good job buddy. Pee on the sign. He's like I own it now,
it's mine. Just saw Mount Rushmore, what do you think? It is, I already like expected it to be
small because you told me it was going to be small. Yeah. But it was a pretty neat experience
and to learn the history and stuff was really cool. Surprisingly no one died building that,
which is crazy. 400 people. I guess that's a good thing. Well yeah, it's a good thing. I was just
surprised to learn that no one died. That was probably the coolest thing. Yeah, I didn't know
we're kind of in an open field but I'm just really tired. We're gonna take the next four
days to relax, get some work done so that we can continue on towards Maine.
