Kamila VALIEVA Free Skate WORLD RECORD Rostelecom Cup 2021
I wouldn't be surprised if we see another record set here.
Every time she steps on competitive ice it seems she's raising the bar,
separating herself from the rest of the field even more.
She keeps moving those goalposts.
The way that she does it is with this incredible quad sal
because she moves in and out of this element so much speed, arms over the head,
high extension on the landing.
Triple axel next.
Gorgeous.
Transitions in and out.
Mind-blowing height on that quad toe, triple toe.
I'm speechless.
Quad toe, arms over the head, close to the boards, couldn't get off the triple sal
but did a double and it doesn't matter.
Look at the score she gets there.
She's truly otherworldly.
She performs with her whole body.
Every fiber of her being is committed to the music and movement from fingertips to toes.
It's like watching a ballet dancer.
A ballet dancer that does incredible quads might I say.
Find me a free skate that tops that one.
I dare you and no need to look elsewhere.
There is your favorite for the Olympic gold medal.
Terry, I feel very confident in saying that she is the next Olympic champion.
She's like the Harry Potter of figure skating for the 22 Olympic games.
She is the chosen one and we just see her every single competition
focusing on her lessons and wowing us even more.
Truly incredible.
Camila told me that when people say, oh, you're going to be the Olympic champion,
she won't even hear it.
You could see at the end of that performance, no matter how stunning it was,
that she was focused on the one triple salchow that she didn't do.
She plugs away.
She works so hard.
She trains with the best women in the world.
Yet when she's on the ice, it's as if nobody else is out there with her.
I, in all my years of being in figure skating,
have never seen such a tremendous talent as I do in Camila Valiyeva.
Absolutely stunning.
No one sitting down in this arena,
including, as we saw, the Olympic gold medalist, Alexei Yagudin.
She's just saying that she was too close to the boards to do that triple salchow.
But after the performance, her coach there, Sergey Dudikov,
Daniel Rikhengauz, the other members of her coaching team,
all with smiles on their face for the first time at this Grand Prix.
Even behind the mask, you could see them.
Quad salchow at the top of the program.
Arms perfectly straight up over the head.
Perfect toe point down through the toe.
That landing position, my goodness.
Here's that triple axel.
She skates so aggressively into this, getting so much speed.
The jump gets height, it gets distance.
And again, puts a spiral on the landing.
She doesn't just do these difficult jumps, the quads, the triple axel,
but she does them with a plume.
She does them with incredible grade of execution.
This quad toe triple toe scored 4.21 bonus points
just on how perfectly she performed it.
Her coach, Daniel Rikhengauz, told me that
he sees a ballerina on the ice when he watches her skate.
And he also told me that one of his greatest pleasures as a coach
is getting to watch her perform every single day.
Guys, four minutes can be a long time on the ice.
Some free skates might drag on here and there.
That was over in the blink of an eye.
I wanted more.
She left you wanting more.
This is going to be big.
All right.
Remember the number one eighty point eight.
Oh, that's her best and the best we've ever seen.
That was at Skate Canada.
Oh, just blew by that.
Forget about that number.
One eighty five point two nine.
The highest total once again that we have ever seen in a free skate.
Camila Believa will be topping the men with a two hundred.
Two seventy two point seven one.
That is also the highest, obviously, after what she did in short.
The highest total number that we have ever seen.
We'll see her at the Grand Prix final.
And I cannot wait.
Elizaveta Tuktamysheva captures the silver medal here in Russia.
And the Russians sweep the podium at home.
It is Maya Khromykh,
