Defensible Space Clearing - DIY Off Grid Cabin Build Episode 44

All right, I'm back at the cabin and today's a good day because I'm meeting with DS Clearing, Defensible Space Clearing, and they're coming to remove all of these tree rounds and deadfall. You can see them working over there. It's going to take a couple of days to get this done, but I've got some trees that are down on the other side of my creek. And they're going to remove all of those and this one right here. So I'll try to get get some of this on video and we'll let you guys take a look. Hey, it's rolling away. Look at the size of that thing. It probably does look like a dog to pick up bumps too big. He didn't even mention there was a creek here. But he probably looked at it and went, yeah, it's not a problem. Yeah, so anything behind it, it's not mine. Yeah, it used to look like that, but the previous owner cleared it out. This is how far he got. Pulled all the other trees out of here, but these, I think that's the one that's all cut up. Oh, yeah, it's not all the way through, though. There's probably still another four inches on the bottom, but when he lifts it up, it could fall off like that other one did. How much he was tipping forward when he lifted that big old oak over there. Yeah, that thing's heavy. Plus it's full of water. right here. This is day one. They'll get all of this out of here, and then day two, they'll finish up getting all the logs that are on the back side, and then a couple of other ones that are here. But they'll be back in about an hour, hour and a half to finish this up, but it's already looking a lot better. Did a little bit of grooming there, and there was a bunch over here as well. Those are gone. Took a couple from the other side just to gauge what that was going to take. Wasn't that difficult. So they will be back to finish in three weeks.
