Boston 25 News reporter Ay Moro in
Brockton right now. We are outside of
Brookfield Elementary School and I am
joined with Sergeant Steven Wilson. But
his two boys, Jameson and Henry, they
call you dad and you're about to give
them the surprise of a lifetime. Are you
ready?
Yep.
Let's go.
Army National Guard Sergeant Steven
Wilson's boys didn't see it coming. And
Henry doesn't know this, but last night
someone came home.
A long awaited reunion after a year away
on deployment in Poland, carrying out
missions all over Europe.
Where's your brother?
Come here, buddy.
Hi.
Hi.
My oldest took it rough. Uh Henry took
it really rough. He wasn't ready for me
to go. Hey, buddy.
What's what's your dream ordinary day
after being away for so long?
Uh going back racing with my sons.
His wife Kristen says it's been a rough
year apart. Sergeant Wilson's mother was
diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Now he
says it's all about quality time.
Was she diagnosed while you were away?
Yeah.
Is that tough for you?
Oh yeah.
It's been all I've been thinking about
the last 6 months. You
going to dinner tonight with us? being
together as a family and doing stuff
together again
and just being together.
A day filled with emotion and definitely
one they won't forget.
Hi, buddy.
All right, you're getting heavy.
Very sad. Very happy and sad because I
cried on him.
Now I have him. Now I'm not sad. And now
I'm happy. Very happy. Very happy. Very
happy.
And if you're wondering what the Wilson
family will be up to tonight, well, take
a listen
and go to Habachi for dinner. Done.
Sounds good to me. In Brockton, I'm
Ellie Morio for your local station,
