The Local Life – Fall Fix-up: Atlantic Power Cleaning

We have Sean Coakley, President of Atlantic Power Cleaning here today to help us get spick and span and ready for this unpredictable New England winter we are inevitably going to have. Sean, what are things that we should be thinking about when it comes to getting the house ready for the cold weather? This time of year I think it's going to be tough to get your home painted. Between now and say Thanksgiving, it's doable, but we can come in with hot water, low pressure and shampoo your home and that will probably take four or five hours, you know, put aside one day. You know we won't be hanging around for three weeks trying to get the place painted and you've got different like you're saying different types of weather that roll in this time of year that can stall your painting project but I can get it cleaned in a day. So I honestly have never thought about shampooing my home. Is this kind of like the equivalent of the everything shower? We kind of invented it I mean or we made power washing better. So, we have our own hot water machines in the back of our power washing trucks. We apply hot, low pressure water with the shampoo mixed, hot water wash, cold water final rinse. So, yeah, it'll give you amazing results and it'll make the job smaller if you still have some touch-up to do, that can be done in a day or two. We can get the majority of the work done in one day. So a homeowner may be looking at their house thinking, oh gosh, it really needs to be spiffed up in a fresh coat of paint. Right. But in fact, you can get the mildew, you can really get a big jump with just a deep clean. And this time of year, you can get the house washed and looking good, take care of your walkways, which if you've got mold and mildew on the driveway or the walkways, a little bit of snow will make it real slippery. Yeah. So this is also a great improvement for safety. Right, right. And what about gutters? Yeah, that's another thing. As we move more towards Thanksgiving, hot water gutter flushing, we physically get up and wash out the gutters so we're not using a blower or trying to hand pick them. They get cleaned and you take the wand and put it right in the downspout so I can see the water coming out. So at least you're tuned up for... Winter because you don't want a problem like a lot of people had with the ice dams last year. I love the inspiration to give that house a deep clean getting ready for those cold weather months.
