So next up, representing Bulgaria, third time for him competing in the World Championships.
He's 23 years of age now, never made it into the free, and he's gonna have to skate his socks off
here to stand a chance. We wish him all the best of luck, Alexander Sladkov.
Lovely flow on the double axel.
A checked hard, a little bit of a delay between the two jumps, but that's triple lutz-triple toe,
Oh dear, what a shame. Just a single loop, and it, of course, gets nothing for that, so it's
it's a huge error after doing a really super combination. Lovely double axel at the beginning.
Spins lacking a little bit at the end of the program. He was struggling, wasn't he,
A, with the positions, getting low enough in certainly the sit at the end. I'm not sure
whether he would have got that, and hanging on to the rotation. You've got to go at least two
rotations in each of the featured positions for them to count. We've seen Alexander as recently
as Europeans compete with a triple axel, and of course downgrading it to just a double axel today,
and likely the decision for that was to skate clean, so really an unfortunate error on
his solo jump, the triple loop. Let's watch the combo though.
Really nice and straight in the air, triple lutz,
and a beautiful triple toe loop to follow.
Receiving a little bit of extra on the grade of execution for that combination.
Here, watch the loop. Just a little bit quick. Yeah, he just rushed it, didn't he? Yeah. Such a shame.
Love the entry from the inside spread, because it gives you a nice little bit of tension.
This one of the two spins at the end that were a little bit of a struggle
for Alexander today, that jump into the change of foot is a feature. I'm not sure if they'll
award him with that feature. Skaters do have to do all three basic spin positions in their change
combination spins. If they don't, they get a V on their scorecard, and this will cause a reduction
in grade of execution as well. So they've decided that Alexander did not do all three basic positions
in that change combo. Yeah, I don't think he was low enough on the sit, was he? You've got to get the
top of the thigh of the leg you stood on parallel with the ice for it to count. I don't think he was
quite low enough, didn't have enough speed. So, well, they have him. It's a costly 55.28. It is second place.
