✨ A cozy day-in-the-life vlog where I share how I manage gestational diabetes while still enjoying meals out. I filmed three meals in one day – brunch at a café, Chinese takeaway for lunch, and noodles for dinner – and tested my blood sugar after each meal.
💡 What I ate:
Brunch: protein-rich chili scrambled eggs + a little oat dessert
Lunch: spicy chicken pot with half white rice + cauliflower rice
Dinner: rice noodles (ate half) with extra protein
I also stopped by my local Asian grocery to find some low GI, sugar-friendly snacks for the week.
If you’re curious about eating out with gestational diabetes, or just looking for cozy lifestyle inspiration with a side of blood sugar management, I hope this vlog gives you ideas and comfort.

Back home from the brunch and it's two hours since I've started eating, so let's see how
we're going.
I only had one piece of the sourdough bread on the chilli scramble and a little bit of
the oats as well.
So I'm hoping it will pass.
Okay.
So sourdough and oats together don't work.
A serve of takeaway food.
It's a spicy chicken pot.
As you can see, mostly protein in this serve.
We've got lots and lots of chicken pieces, some tofu, a little bit of potato and a little
bit of veggies.
It's a very big serve.
There's no way I can finish in one sitting, so I'll just be reprocessing it and add some
more green spinach leaf to the serving.
The takeaway food did come with a pretty big serving of rice, but since I'm watching my
I've decided just to have a tiny portion of the rice, but I'm going to add this cauliflower
veggie rice to my rice portion.
I'll mix it up so it's 50-50 to hopefully make it more satisfying while still very sugar
friendly.
Much bigger bowl of rice.
I did a little bit of shopping with this for 20% off deal.
Mainly I got these, another Pat McGrath eyeshadow.
This is the number one.
I've been wanting these for a while now and it's finally back in stock and 20% off, so
that's amazing.
Also, I used the opportunity to use up my Sephora reward points for some samples.
They're all moisturisers.
This is a loose powder sample, which is actually a lot smaller than I thought.
It might be good for travelling, 0.9 of a gram, smallest loose powder ever.
More moisturisers.
The palette is a pinkish-purplish tone themed.
I've been particularly interested in these two colours because they're super dreamy.
I'm not sure if the camera does this justice, but it's very dreamy sparkles.
There's also a very pink sparkle as well.
Then you've got the bronze colours.
This is pretty, how it changes colour under different angles.
Then all the relatively matte colours I think will be very useful too.
A very creamy highlighter.
Now this is my third Pat McGrath.
Got the number five, the number nine and number eight.
Getting ready to head out anyway, so I thought I will use the new eyeshadow.
I've saved heaps of makeup tutorials and ideas for this.
Picking one out.
I think I'll do this one.
How did I go?
I like it I think.
To go into the city for dinner now.
I'm having rice noodles, which is a bit of a challenge.
But the plan is focus on the veggie and protein part of the meal
and a small portion of the rice noodles.
Let's see how we go.
In with the white
sprouting
see pushing through the forest
making up their way
winter
we do that
we're just human
sun or snow
all the life
all we have
this is part of how it goes
jumping up
never gonna fly
but staying high
timid start
paint with the light

two hours after dinner
I ate all the chicken veggies in the big bowl and about half of the rice noodles.
Seems to be working, not too bad.
