Hi guys, welcome back to our channel Richa and Sourav World.
Today I have with me one and only Sarka ji from KnowledgeBuddy.
And as you know, Mr. Sourav Sadan.
He is also with us, Richa. It's Sourav World channel.
So, you must have got to know today's topic.
UAE vs UK.
Today is going to be a fierce battle.
It's not going to be a friendly battle.
It's not going to be a duel.
But yes, it's going to be a friendly discussion.
We will tell you the difference between UK and UAE.
Recently, both Sarka and I have travelled to UAE.
And we have got to know a lot of things there.
Which we are going to share with you.
So, without wasting any time, let's get started.
First of all, let's talk about the job market.
Now, both of them will tell us how the job market is in UK vs UAE.
So, what happens is that the market here has become a bit tough.
Today, two countries slipped into a recession.
Japan and the United Kingdom.
What happened is that there is a lot of net immigration here.
So, the skilled worker jobs are very good.
But if I talk about unskilled jobs, then it has become very less.
If you look at IT, Java, Business Analyst, Data Analyst, all these jobs.
If you look at good bank positions, then the job is very good.
But if you look at construction and all these food delivery apps.
The jobs of all these apps, which are unskilled, have become a bit difficult here.
So, Sarka, what would you like to say about UAE?
UAE is a market where everyone has a need.
So, whether you are skilled or unskilled, it doesn't matter.
In fact, there is a different visa category there.
It is called Domestic Care Visa.
It means if you want to work as a domestic help, driver, or to work in a petrol pump.
All types of jobs are there with visa sponsorship.
So, if you are not getting a job anywhere else, then definitely you will get a job in UAE.
Use LinkedIn, use Bait.com, use Naukri Gulf, there are many more.
If I want to add one last point in the job market in the UK.
One better point is that the salaries are very good here.
So, if you want to get a job in the UK, then LinkedIn, Read, Indy.com, you will get a job in all of these.
LinkedIn is a very good method if you are thinking of applying for a job.
Even I think in UAE.
So, if you want to apply for a job anywhere in the world, then you can go to LinkedIn.
Okay, now let's talk about the residency options.
What is the difference between the UK and UAE?
So, let me start with this.
We have been in the UK for 5 years, so we got the PR here.
Whether you have been in the UAE for 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, or how many years, you will not get a permanent residency there.
So, if you want to be permanent, then the UK is a better market for you and not UAE.
But I think there is one thing in UAE that you are getting a golden visa these days.
And a lot of people are opting for it.
But you can't settle permanently in it, so you won't get a passport there.
But definitely a long-term visa.
Okay, now let's talk about a very big point, which is tax.
How is the tax system in the UK and UAE?
So, if you want to save tax or earn the most money, then definitely UAE is the market for you.
Because you don't have to pay tax there.
If you are a salaried person, then you have to pay 0% tax.
But if you are running your own business, then you will have to pay 5% tax.
Which is quite better.
Of course, as compared to the UK.
If I talk about the UK tax system, then I think the UK is the country that collects the second most tax in the world.
But again, the reason is that there are more salaries here.
And the facilities you get are only after collecting the tax.
So, how much tax is there? Tell me that too.
Less than 50,000 pounds.
Your tax is roughly 20%.
But from 12,500 to 50,000 pounds.
From 50,000 pounds to 40%.
45% above 100.
And it also goes above that.
So, if you have more salary, your money will be spent more.
And ultimately you will get very little money.
If your tax has gone up to 45-50%.
So, of course, you only had half the money in your hand.
The rest is gone.
Remember, all this tax is collected.
So, this also benefits people in the future.
Which we will cover in the future.
Okay, now let's talk about the parents.
They are most worried about schooling.
So, how is the school system in the UAE vs UK?
So, let me start.
Schooling is not free there.
So, if you are an immigrant, like you are coming from India or Pakistan.
And you are settling there.
Or you are working there.
When you send your children to school, you will have to pay.
Unless and until.
I know only one or two criteria.
If you are a school teacher.
Then you can get your one child admitted in the same school.
Free of cost.
Otherwise, you will have to pay.
And it's a huge money.
As far as I know.
Because some of our relatives are living in the UAE.
And they have told us.
That there is a fee of 1-1 lakh for the schools there.
And per month definitely.
And if you take on a yearly basis.
Then it is 12-15 lakhs.
And people are paying this.
But in the UK.
Sourav will tell you.
In the UK.
As I told you.
The government collects taxes.
And the biggest benefit of that is.
Education is free here.
Up to class 10th.
So, the education is completely free.
Then you get the benefit.
Because you don't have to pay any school fees.
You don't have to worry.
That you don't have to pay any extra money.
So, that's a benefit for us schooling wise.
Now, let's talk about the next point.
Which is medical facility?
This is the most important part.
So, how is the medical facility in the UAE?
So, first of all.
All the people who are employed there.
All the companies give you insurance.
So, it's covered by insurance.
If you have to go somewhere in an emergency.
You will get an appointment immediately.
Or if you have a toothache.
You will get an appointment immediately.
So, there is no problem.
And then you don't have to pay a lot of money.
And you hardly pay any money.
Because all your insurance is covered by your company.
And in the UK.
So, in the UK.
Again, there is a benefit of tax here.
All the medical facilities are free.
But the medicines are not free.
So, you have to pay for that.
Again, there are criteria.
For example, pregnant women are free of medication.
Children are free of medication.
But if they are getting health insurance in Dubai.
Same thing in the UK.
Almost every private company is giving you medical insurance.
But I would like to add one thing.
The medical facilities in the UK are not that fast.
Because if you take an appointment.
It takes a lot of time.
You have to wait for 3-5 days for the appointment.
Which is annoying.
And this is my personal experience.
People say that I am sick.
What will I do after 5 days?
I will give you an example.
I had a nose surgery.
So, I got the number after a year.
So, this is actually annoying.
That's why people are going for private insurance.
If you are in the UAE.
The medical facilities are free.
But you might get the appointment early.
As compared to the UK.
Same day or next day.
You will get the appointment on the next day.
You don't have to wait for 3-4 months.
Like Saurabh did.
Okay.
And one of the most important.
Which I think is for our daily life.
How is the house help in the UAE and UK?
So, let's start with Sarika.
As far as I know from my sister.
Who has been there for almost 10 years.
You will get house help there.
Indian Rupees.
From 50,000 INR to 80,000 INR.
You will get it full time.
And you have to keep it on an hourly basis.
You will get it on an hourly basis.
And not only about house help.
You will also get a cook.
You will also get a driver.
Right.
And just because.
As I said earlier.
There are all types of people.
Labour.
Skilled labour.
Unskilled labour.
And their different visa categories.
Many people come there for domestic help.
Because it is available there.
You don't have to pay cheap prices.
Especially Indians who are pampered.
Domestic help.
We have never heard this word.
But if you want domestic help.
Then here on an hourly basis.
Full time concept.
I have never heard of it.
But if I say on an hourly basis.
Then in agencies.
I have to pay 15 to 20 pounds per hour.
And if I remove this thing from an hourly basis.
If I tell him.
I want full time maid.
Then at least.
You are paying around 4000 to 5000 pounds.
Ending up with this kind of money.
Because if you are keeping them on an hourly basis.
For 24 hours.
Then you have to pay 3000 to 4000 pounds.
And people have so many salaries.
Then no one can afford it here.
So of course.
If you want something pampering.
Then UAE is the best option.
Because there you can afford it easily.
Until and unless.
You are earning in crores.
Or your monthly salary is 20, 30, 40 lakhs.
Which is not ours.
Then you can afford that thing.
In UK.
Even in USA, Australia.
In all these countries.
There is a big issue of house help.
So that's why to pamper Richa.
We have kept roti in our house.
Rice cooker.
Means all kinds of machines.
Rovers.
We have kept rovers to vacuum.
We have kept everything.
So that they become our helping hand.
Our machines.
At that time.
If you are physically.
If someone is not able to help you.
So machines are the friends for you.
Best alternative.
Okay.
Safety.
This point is very good.
This is clear winner.
Dubai or UAE.
Because the whole world knows.
There is no such security or safety like that.
Tell about UK.
They will tell about UAE.
You tell about UK.
Already he knows that.
UAE is the winner.
UAE is the winner on this point.
I had a very bad experience in UK.
My mother had come.
Her phone was stolen.
Her wallet was stolen.
I mean.
I can't say anything about safety.
It's not safe to go out at night in UK.
If you compare Dubai.
Like my sister has been living there for 10 years.
Once she was sitting in the bus stop.
At 12 o'clock in the night.
In 2 minutes.
Police car is going there.
To check this.
Is she okay?
That she need a cab.
Or she need a help.
They will go and check.
When they said.
I am fine.
My husband is coming.
Then only they went.
Our phone was also left there.
In the restaurant.
We went after 2 hours.
Our phone was there.
So there was no problem.
So in 10 years.
Till now.
No theft has happened there.
Next point.
We are taking it.
Distance from India.
Of course.
We are all Indians.
If we come out.
For work.
We miss India too.
So of course.
Everyone knows this difference.
UAE is very close.
You take a flight from Dubai.
Take from Saja.
Or from Abu Dhabi.
In 3-4 hours.
You will reach Delhi.
Mumbai.
Even Hyderabad.
In the main city.
There is coverage everywhere.
And you reach in 3-4 hours.
It means.
In the evening.
You leave the office.
After that.
You take a flight.
At night.
At 11-12.
You are on your final destination.
But in the UK.
You have to plan everything.
You have to plan the whole day.
For 8 days.
Because 8 hours.
Is the minimum flight.
From London to Delhi.
Yes.
And the same is the case.
In other countries.
If you go from USA.
Or Australia.
The flight distance is so much.
That you have to plan everything.
You can't even plan.
That I will take the flight in the evening.
And reach home at 11-12.
It's like.
It's not possible.
There is a feeling of homesickness.
So I think then.
You should try for UAE first.
Because it will keep you away from homesickness.
Because I have seen there.
Indians.
Pakistanis.
Sri Lankans.
I mean.
A lot of people of Asian culture.
I have seen there.
And the people speak Hindi.
I mean.
I have seen more than half of the people there.
Talking in Hindi.
Along with homesickness.
One important point is also.
Emergency.
Family emergency.
We all have families there.
Parents.
In-laws.
So whenever there is a family emergency.
You take the flight in 3-4 hours.
And reach there.
In UAE.
It's extremely hot.
It's unbearable.
Right.
In fact.
A recent incident of my sister.
She left her laptop in her car by mistake.
She had a meeting.
Her screen.
Because of the heat.
It was so hot.
Her screen cracked.
Really?
Okay.
And like we say.
If you take lunch.
They carry lunch.
Everything gets spoiled.
Because of the heat.
So in UAE.
I have seen.
What my sister explained.
So there is no need to microwave.
Leave it outside.
It will get spoiled.
There is no need to heat it.
It's on the next level.
But what about the nightlife.
Many people sleep there.
Nightlife is pretty good.
So what I was saying.
6 months is bearable.
It's good.
And 6 months.
There is a lot of extreme heat.
So it depends.
How much you can bear.
Like it's very cold here.
How much you can bear.
You can adjust.
I think it's the same.
I feel like.
In winters.
If you are a little worried here.
Then people there.
More than summer.
All the time I have been there.
Everyone is talking in Hindi.
My sister too.
Office people.
Almost Indians.
You will meet.
Or Pakistanis.
In Sri Lanka.
Everybody like.
Kind of talk in Hindi.
What?
And your social life is very good.
There are a lot of restaurants.
You will get a place to eat.
You celebrate all festivals.
Whether you are Indian.
Or Pakistanis.
All people live together.
So social life.
Much better.
I think as compared to.
I mean.
According to my experience.
In social life.
UAE is the winner.
Because I have experienced there.
For 10 days.
That you can never get bored there.
Because you get so many.
Positive vibes around you.
That I can clearly say.
In social life.
For me.
UAE is the winner.
Not UK.
Even though.
I am living in UK.
Let the audience decide.
Yes.
This is my point of view.
Okay.
The last.
But not the least.
We will discuss.
About work culture.
What is the difference between.
UK and UAE.
If I start in UK.
So.
8 hours working.
40 hours work in a week.
It is very balanced.
I mean.
You have to work.
You have to do this much work.
After your working hours.
Your boss will not call you.
Your colleagues will not disturb you.
Right.
You can do something else for yourself.
I mean.
After your full 40 hours.
You are free to do anything.
And what I have seen.
And of course.
My sister.
My brother-in-law.
From there.
The information gathered from them.
There.
Because.
Most of the owners.
At least.
Where they have worked.
For the last 10 years.
Are Indians.
So.
The mindset of Indians.
How much.
You can get work done.
It can be 8 hours.
It can be 9 hours.
It can also be 10 hours.
So.
10 hours.
If a person is working.
So.
Of course.
Your personal life is a little impacted.
So.
I will say.
In that.
UK is a winner.
Looks like.
Because here.
Perfect balance.
I have not seen so much balance there.
There.
Managers can call you in the evening.
They take that liberty.
I have not seen that in UK.
By doing this.
So.
I think.
A little work culture.
Matches India.
Yes.
So.
In India.
Some people.
Take around 10 to 12 hours.
Yes.
So.
I have also seen there.
When I was working in an Indian company.
For 11 to 12 hours.
Daily.
I had work.
Yes.
I have also observed there.
That I have seen my sister and brother-in-law.
In so much time.
For me.
Oh my God.
They can work for so long.
I went there to UK.
I took my laptop.
I was working from home.
I started in UK hours.
My work was ending earlier.
Their work was not finished.
That I have seen.
These were some points.
UAE vs UK.
I hope.
If you liked the video, if you get a chance to stay, where would you like to go?
I would say that if anyone is watching this video, in any part of the world, whether you get to go to the UK or Dubai, go wherever you get to.
Take the experience, it should be of every market.
Because you grow as a person, you learn so much working with different nationalities.
After that you decide whether you want to go to the UK or stay in Dubai or somewhere else.
So if you get a chance, do go.
There are jobs, especially when I say UAE, there are jobs for all the people there.
Not only skilled, it is also for people who are low skilled as well.
So don't waste your time.
And this is the right time to apply for jobs in Dubai.
So go and apply.
This should be the motive that if you want to go abroad, you can start anywhere.
Whether it is USA or Australia.
Because a lot of people go to Australia.
And if you go to Dubai, you will earn a lot of money.
You don't have to pay much tax there.
It is tax free.
So definitely start from Dubai and then see whether you like Dubai or not.
And whether you want to move to some other country.
So with this, we say bye to you all.
I hope Sarika made a video with us.
It was a lot of fun, Richa.
Thank you so much.
You are a decent person.
Thank you so much Sarika for joining me.
This was my first video with him.
I hope you will get more content in the future.
So if you liked the video, please like, share and subscribe.
And stay with us.
Bye.
