In today's video, I place 2 fish traps in a tiny creek FILLED with green slime. I ended up catching RARE aquarium fish including tetras, Cory catfish, AND MORE to put into my new planted fish tank!
Comments are disabled for this video.
This is going to help us see the fish that we catch a lot better.
Oh, he's got spines.
Oh, he's spying me.
Oh my, oh, I haven't caught one of these in so long.
What is this?
Whoa.
So freaking cool.
What's up BFB nation.
Welcome back to another awesome video guys.
Today, we're here at one of my favorite spots and we're going to be trying to catch
aquarium fish for my new fish tank.
This is one of those top secret locations where every time I come here, I seem to
catch these really cool rare fish.
Don't know how they got in here, but they are in here and I am loving catching them.
So we're just going to keep coming back.
You know, last time we were here, I think was actually the freshwater stingray video.
Now I know it's not a freshwater stingray.
We caught one of those freshwater stingray things.
I forgot what it's actually called.
We've caught Tetras.
We've caught others, a lot of other things.
I'm blanking right now, but we've got a lot of cool aquarium fish here.
And basically I set up my new 125 gallon planted tank recently and we don't have a
lot of fish in there.
So I decided to come here today, try to trap something and bring it back to my fish
tank.
And yeah, we're here at the spot right now.
Now, as you can tell, it looks a little different this time.
And that is because there is just so much duckweed in the water.
We haven't been here in a while.
So, I mean, it makes sense.
The spot has changed a little bit, but it does kind of suck, but it's okay because
right here in front of this pipe is a big opening and it's a big drop off.
It's like three, four feet deep right there.
These are the fish traps we're going with today.
We got the umbrella fish trap and we have, you know, the OG.
This is the one we always use.
We always catch stuff in it.
For bait, we got some bread right here.
So yeah, let's bait up these traps, get them in the water, let them marinate.
And then we're going to be back here later.
Hopefully we get something really cool.
I really want some Tetras.
We've caught a bunch of different species of Tetras here.
I think Columbian, something else.
And like the red ones, I don't know.
So yeah, I'm going to get you guys on my chest.
We're going to set up these traps and hopefully today is a good day.
Hopefully we get something cool for our fish tank.
All right, guys.
We have the bread in the little bait pouch.
Oh my God.
Look at my hand.
It happened again, dude.
That's literally how hot it is right now.
You guys.
I know it's really hard to tell how hot it is whenever I film these videos,
but it's scorching.
The bread is literally melting the plastic.
Look at that.
Let's go ahead and get the first trap in the water.
Okay.
That works.
She's going.
All right.
Our one traps there.
There's a lot of fish by it already.
Holy crap.
There's a Dalmatian Molly.
Tetra.
I just saw a little shadow of a Tetra there.
I don't know if you guys can see that.
I'm just going to, I'm just going to go like this.
All right.
Sink.
Come on.
I don't know if that's going to work.
Is that working?
Hello?
The traps underwater.
That's all that matters.
All right, you guys, we're going to leave the rope here.
We got two traps baited up.
It's a little awkward because it's such a small little concentrated area, but I
think it's going to work.
The one good thing about them being in that one little tiny area is that I'm
pretty sure a lot of the fish in this little Creek are going to be concentrated
right here.
Cause the rest of it is, you know, really thick duck weed and all that.
So they might just congregate around that little small area and we might
have a little honey hole right there.
So yeah, guys, I'm going to head out now.
We're going to give this trap to probably two hours.
And yeah, when we come back here, we're going to see what all we caught.
I'm praying we caught something cool.
Cause I want to finally spice up my fish tank and catch some cool fish for it.
Oh my God.
I just walked.
I was trying to walk through here to get back to the truck.
Look at that spider.
I think that's called a banana spider.
That thing is massive, dude.
Okay, guys, it's about two and a half hours later.
I'm here at the spot.
I actually just had a really interesting encounter with a subscriber.
I pulled up and he came out of his car and he was like, yo, dude, he said, you
recognize this spot from one of my videos.
And he came here and he was just here netting like with an actual net net.
And he said, he caught a bunch of Tetras.
Now I'm not one to like give out my spots like that, but if you do the
detective work and you find it yourself, have at it, obviously you guys share
the same passion.
So if you find the spots, have fun.
Yeah.
Send me some pictures.
If you ever like hit up one of my thoughts, you catch something cool.
Send me a picture on Instagram or something.
I'd love to see it.
So I actually have something different today.
I have a specimen container.
I think it's called.
Say guys, this is the little specimen container I got.
Now this is going to help us see the fish that we catch a lot better, really
get a good look at them.
Now this little thing, believe it or not was $20.
This little piece it's plastic.
It's not even glass.
It's plastic.
You guys have told me for a long time to get one of these.
So I finally just said, you know what?
Let me just get it.
I also have a bucket.
Let's head down there.
Oh my gosh.
There's our traps.
Okay.
I'm going to get you on my chest.
We're going to pull up our traps.
Come on, cross your fingers.
Go down there and hit the like button for some good luck guys.
Let's get some water in the bucket.
Oh my gosh.
All right, here we go.
We're all set, baby.
I am nervous.
Oh, this is the bottom one.
Okay.
We're pulling out the bottom one.
Oh, what the heck?
My thing's all tangled.
The traps all tangled.
I don't really see anything boys.
What's going on?
I don't see a single fish.
Oh my God.
Yes.
Okay.
We got a touch of a holy crap.
I thought I got skunked there for a second.
I just saw him.
Ew.
What is that?
Ew.
Let me put them in the bucket real quick.
There we have it.
Look at that.
Is that one of the serpays?
I don't know.
Okay.
Scott mosquito fish.
What else?
What is that?
Sorry guys.
I know this is a tough angle.
I'm going to get them in the specimen jar soon.
Oh, what is this?
Hold up.
Yo, this thing is sick looking.
Come here.
Oh, he's got spines.
Oh, he spined me.
What the heck?
Oh, he's got my finger.
Dude.
What the heck is that?
Okay.
Well, oh my God.
What is that?
Oh my God.
Oh dude.
Look at that thing.
Look at that one.
Oh my gosh.
Hold on.
I'm going to get a good look for you guys in a second.
Oh my gosh.
What is that?
Another one.
Oh, wow.
Look at the stripes on that thing.
This is so sick.
Okay.
It's just so tough guys.
I'm sorry.
There's like so much duckweed.
I can't really see into the trap itself.
Okay.
The rest are mosquito fish.
We're dumping back.
There we go.
First trap is down.
Okay.
Sorry guys.
I took a little second there because I realized I didn't have an aerator.
So I ran to the truck and I got this thing, this giant portable charger.
And one of these aerators, look at that.
You really can't see them.
That's see, this is why we got this thing.
After we pulled the second trap and we get all the keepers in here, we're going to
put them into this jar to get a better look at them.
Let's pull up the second one and see what we got.
Oh my gosh.
This is so, this is so janky.
All right, here we go.
Second fish trap.
Come on.
Give me something good.
Oh, what?
Oh.
Oh boy.
What is this?
Oh my gosh.
Oh, something just bit me.
Oh, something bit me.
Oh my God.
Look at this thing.
That's a Cory catfish.
That's a freaking Cory catfish.
Hold up.
Oh my God.
I haven't caught one in these in so long.
Look at this thing.
What is this?
Whoa.
Oh my God.
Give me these fish.
I just took a tumble.
This is crazy, dude.
This is crazy.
Look at these things.
Cory catfish.
Oh my God.
Anything else?
There's a bunch of mosquito fish, dude.
Okay.
Let me get this giant snail out.
Look at the size of that apple snail, dude.
That's crazy.
See you, buddy.
We'll throw him back.
Oh, I need a, oh my God.
I was about to dump everything out.
What is that?
That's a red one.
I was about to dump everything out, dude.
Not even kidding.
All right, let's dump all the rest out through the little hole.
There you go, guys.
Now we got the fun part.
Look at all these keepers, dude.
There they are down there.
We actually, we have a casualty.
I'm like really, really upset right now because it's like one of the
coolest fish I've ever caught.
It died because it was, it was the fish where I grabbed it.
And then as I was putting it in the bucket, I slid down the thing.
I guess when I slid down, I must've like squeezed them too hard.
He just, he's dead.
He's like straight up dead.
Oh, I just did it again.
Fricking did it again.
As I was, oh my God.
Basically, basically that happened while I had the fish in my hand.
I'm like really upset, dude.
I'm pretty sure I know what that is too.
That's called a paradise fish.
Oh my God.
I am really, really upset, dude.
Like he's actually, he's not even breathing nothing.
He's just dead.
Like I didn't mean to do it, but it's like kind of my fault.
Oh, dude.
Such a pretty fish.
I've only caught one of these before and it was actually albino
and one of my other spots.
I feel so bad.
Like he's such a pretty fish.
I actually, I feel so bad.
I'm just going to toss him back.
I'm sorry.
That sucks, dude.
I've never had that happen before.
I actually like physically killed a fish like that.
Okay, guys, let's try to lighten the mood a little bit.
We have some other really cool fish in here.
We're going to get them in the specimen specimen container.
We're going to get some of the cool fish, put them in here and look at them.
Oh, I got one.
Oh, that's the, that's the pretty one.
This is my favorite one.
I think we ever caught.
Look at that.
Oh my God.
Look, it's dude.
It's so sick.
I'm trying to get the water off.
Look at that thing.
I don't know what that is.
You guys, I have no idea.
I actually have, it looks like a shiner, but like pretty there.
That's so sick.
Oh my gosh.
We got ourselves a Tetra.
I think that's a Serpae.
That's a Serpae.
I think, look at that one.
Look how sick that is.
Oh my gosh.
That looks so cool.
We got something in here.
I am like, I have no idea what it is.
Here we go.
Another one.
Oh, that one's red.
See, this one's red.
That one is so red, but they look the same.
That's are they the same?
Look, we got two quarry catfish.
Look at that.
We got two quarries.
Are those Hopelos?
No, those are quarries.
Those are quarries for sure.
Look at that.
That's a quarry catfish, right?
I'm not tripping.
I've only caught those one time.
And that was at the Paku spot.
Dude, that is so cool.
That is so cool.
I love quarry catfish.
He's going to look sick in the tank.
What is this?
Ow, ow, ow.
Oh, that's the thing that spined me.
What is that?
Oh my gosh.
What the heck?
Bro.
Look at that thing.
Look at that thing right now.
I have, I've never seen that fish in my whole life.
Look at that.
You guys, you have to comment right now.
Comment what that is.
Look at this.
There's another quarry catfish.
There you go, buddy.
Oh, got him.
That's the, that's the striped one.
Oh my gosh.
She's going crazy.
Look at that.
I love this box.
This little container.
They look so good.
You can really see them.
You guys were right.
Wow.
Oh my gosh.
This is so awesome.
These are all the keepers from today's fish traps.
We have two quarry catfish.
We have a few Tetras, whatever this shiny thing is, whatever that thing in the bag
that keeps finding me, look at that.
What is that?
This is so cool, man.
So freaking cool.
Yo, these quarry catfish are like green too.
I don't know if you guys can tell, but they are green.
No idea what that is.
Please let me know in the comments.
We're going to get them in the bucket now and take them home.
Two successful fish traps.
We're going to head back to my house now and put these guys into my fish tank.
They're going to look awesome.
So yeah, we'll see you back at my house.
All right guys, check it out.
We're back at my house.
We're here at my 125 planted tank now.
I said I was getting new plants soon and I still haven't.
I know.
I'm sorry.
The tank doesn't look amazing now, but these fish are definitely going to spice
it up and we're going to get some really cool plans for it soon, but yeah, so far
we only have three gold gouramis, which Brandon caught on his channel,
two dojo loaches, which I caught on mine, a fire eel,
three baby puffer fish, which Brandon also caught.
Oh, there's one back there.
Got him.
Look at him right there.
So I'm going to acclimate these fish to the tank and then we're going to get them in.
Check it out, guys.
We have the first fish going in.
I think this is one of the tetras.
There he goes.
See you, buddy.
Oh, he looks so sick.
Oh, we got the quarry catfish.
Here we go.
Quarry cat going in, going in.
There he goes.
Looks so sick.
Now they're all going to be really pale because they're in the white bucket.
You know, they're stressed out.
But there's the quarry catfish.
Look at him.
All right. Who is this?
Oh, this is the really cool looking one.
There he goes.
Dude, that thing is so cool.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, there's the other one.
There's the tetra.
There they are.
All right. Another tetra going in.
There he goes.
See ya.
Who is this? I think this is the striped one.
Yeah, there's the striped one.
I don't even know what that is.
You guys got to let me know what these are.
All right. Second quarry cat going in.
There he goes.
Go find your friend.
OK, guys, this is the really weird thing that's spying me.
Look at that.
Oh, I can't wait to get to him in the tank.
He's going to look so cool.
There you go, dude.
Whoa. Oh, and there he goes.
Now, like I said, the plant situation, it's
it's temporary.
We're going to get some really cool plants soon.
Really make this look good.
So, guys, that's going to wrap it up for today's video.
Also, guys, if you want to see like an update video soon
where I go through all the fish I have in my house, in my backyard,
I have so much stuff that I don't even show you guys in all the videos.
I don't show them a lot, actually, because there's so many fish
and so many ponds.
So if you want to see like a big update video
where I show every single fish I have, let me know if you want to see that.
If you guys did enjoy this video, go down there, leave a like, subscribe.
If you haven't already, I'll see you in the next one. Peace out.
