Highlights | Day 3 | 2025 Ryder Cup

Good afternoon and welcome to the final day of the 45th Ryder Cup. Perfect touch, perfect read on the first hole. Oh, he did it. He did it! Right in the middle. Man, he's been in such under control all week, man. He looks like the moment's just not. Just off the fairway. Flop up there. Oh, there it is! Let's go back to one. In the meantime, Ben Griffin is taking on Rasmus Heugon in our rookie showdown in Match 9. And you know, I don't think that Ben Griffin, you know, obviously he's had a phenomenal summer. Left to right at the third. A slow putt. You definitely don't want to have to come back or down the hill. No comeback from there. Play a draw. Not a good hole location for Russell. This looks so good in the air. Oh, what a shot there by Russell Henley. Off it goes for Justin Rose. 9-0 here. Here at the 9th. Match to Cam Young, but maybe not for long. 2-3 Griffin. Very high. A lot of club head speed. Let's go! Shot you just have to pinch. Luckily he had a lot of green to work with. McIlroy plays a brilliant shot. Scorable itself with Patrick Cantling, who's one down. Nice flat line. Kind of in the swale there. Good angle. Should spin a bit. Does add the assured birdie for Cantling. Here it is. Followed by Goberg. A little higher shot that Cantling played. And what a response it is. Good, good. Let's go to 7. That's the right thing to do there. Right hole location for a right player. This is a Greenlight special right here. No win to speak of. Down the hill. The green opening, Goberg having missed. Strong as a rock once more, Cantling. Up to 11, down the left side. Looks to be sitting up for Tommy Fleetwood. Justin Thomas, beg your pardon. Fleetwood on the green, 30 feet away. 3 feet away for Justin Thomas. It's tracking. It's tracking. Dead sensor. Watching it. Watching it. Watching it. Coming back to normal state of play. What's Fitzpatrick got? He's got an answer. The perfect answer. Up and over. Get in the ball. Go. Go. That's a golf shot. You're telling me it's a golf shot. That's a shot of the day. No question. Back pin. Just a wedge on that rough. Got to watch the spin. Oh, wow. Perfect. Griffin. Across the 10th. Finds one. No mistake there. In fact, it'll get the biggest roar. Delicious. What a shot by Justin Rose. Brought it in. Withdrawn to the left hand pin. Back at the 12th. JJ Spohn's second. Staring it down. With good reason. What a shot. Fitzpatrick just off the back edge. Oh, what a shot. We know how swift this one is. Down the slope at 15. This for Birdie. Ben Griffin and Erasmus Hojgar. This is Griffin. For Birdie. That's for a brutal miss on the last. He wants to make up for it, and he does. The bar up there. What a putt. Chance for Young. He's got what a debut it has been for Cameron Young. And he does secure that first point for the United States. Fantastic match. Fantastic finish. He's got it. There it is. Can he work out the maths? To keep going. Much needed point for the Europeans. Which he gets. Terrific fight back from De Chandeau. That means that Europe are now within half a point of retaining at 13.5 to 8.5. 15. Two down against Russell Henley. Big shot right there. Which is exactly what he's going to do. And that is another point to Team USA. As Sheffler beats McElroy and collects his first point of the 2025 Ryder Cup. Beautiful looking shot here on 16. The pin right there. Just coax it down the hill. Slow down. There you go. Good putt. Well done, JJ Spearman. He's another rookie. A little bit like Cameron Young, who has had an excellent debut. Oh, Shane Lowry. What a response. And he's going to get a read. Oh my goodness. He did it. The champion stands tall and delivers for the European team, who have retained the Ryder Cup. That's that. It is another point for Team USA. 12-14. First point comes to Ben Griffith in his Ryder Cup career. But it means that Europe move to 14.5 points. And it means that Europe have not only retained, but they have won the Ryder Cup on US soil here at Bethpage Black. My word, what a struggle it was though. Walking off 15. I'm afraid not for Sam Burns. So that match is tied. And the final result of the 45th Ryder Cup is Europe 15, the United States 13.
