Seven years ago, I was cleaning office buildings on Christmas Eve night. I was broke. I was
frustrated. I had very little money. I had no time. I wasn't doing what I felt like I should
be in life. I felt like I had so much more potential. So many things that I wanted to do,
but I just never got to them. And so that night, I made a decision. It wasn't a goal. It wasn't a
wish. I made a decision. And that literally means to cut off all other options. And because of that,
within the next year, both me and my wife left our jobs. I now have been able to become financially
free in my 20s, buy my dream house, have chickens, have ultimate location and time freedom,
and I get to do what I love every day and make way more money than I ever did before.
And it is because of that one night where I decided to make a real change in my life,
stop wishing for things to change, and actually make it happen. So today, I wanted to share
my step-by-step blueprint of how I did that and how you can change your life completely
in the next 90 days. Let's just jump into it. Step number one is the reality check. This is a
brutally honest three-step process where if you are not extremely honest with yourself,
you're probably not going to see any change. Because if you're not clear on exactly what it
is you want to change and why you want to change it, where you actually want to be in 90 days from
now, then it's guaranteed that you're not going to get there. You're probably going to not make
any significant changes if you're not clear on what they are and why you're doing them.
So step number one is just to write down what you want to change. For me, seven years ago,
that was I cannot be doing the same thing that I'm doing right now. I need to change my financial
situation so that I can get out of this trap and doing things that I hate. Because I knew that
that one decision would lead to everything else doing better. And so while it's easy to go through
and list a bunch of things you want to do, in order to actually make progress, you need to pick
one to three things. I would suggest honestly just one thing. But what is one huge thing that if you
made that better, if you change this one thing, everything else in your life would get slightly
better. And since we're only doing 90-day sprints, we can do this every 90 days and just totally
transform your life in a year. But what is one thing you really want to change? And step two,
what is one thing that you think is a strength or that you want to keep? For me, I had this obsession
with learning, which I still have today. And I knew that that was something that was like a tool
in my toolbox that I really wanted to protect and make sure that I kept this obsession with growth.
So now you have what you want to change, what you want to keep, and then you need a why behind it.
If you don't have a strong why, you're not going to do whatever it takes over the next 90 days
to stick with your decision. If your thing is like, I want to get in shape, don't just write,
I want to get in shape. Why is it that you want to get in shape? Are you embarrassed when you take
your shirt off at the beach? Write that down. That's a real reason. Do you want to lose weight
so that your knees stop hurting so you can play with your grandkids? That is a real reason. That
is the thing that will keep you going. Again, going back to for me, this why was I want to be
there for my kids. I don't want to go out on holidays and nights and do things that I hate.
I just can't do this anymore. If you don't have this really strong connection with your direction,
it's just not going to happen. Next up, we have the minimalist reset. If you want to change your life,
changing your environment is an amazing place to start. Most people don't want to be messy.
They want to look put together. They want to have a clean environment where they can think,
have mental clarity, where they can focus on whatever they're trying to do. Actually,
spending some time and figuring out what are some pain points that you have and how can you solve
them and really changing some physical things around you can change how you see yourself.
Before we get to these big changes that you want to see, if you can change the environment that
you're actually in and become a more put together, cleaner person that you're actually proud of your
house, you're proud of your environment, it's not stressful. I've done a bunch of videos on
minimalism that you can check out if you want to dive down that road, but that can look different
to everybody. I started wearing all black six years ago now and that for me just became a
uniform, a physical representation that I've changed as a person. It's also just much simpler.
It's something I never have to think about. I always put together black goes with anything,
which is pretty easy. Also, when I even just cut my hair, I look more put together. If you can
change something physical about your environment or your person, that can be a great cue to
remember that I am changing as a person. I'm not that old me. I am changing. How can you physically
represent that to prove it to yourself? Decide the person you want to become. This was absolutely
life-changing for me. I can't remember what book I read this in. I think it was How to Win Friends
and Influence People. If you give somebody else a reputation of like, hey man, I know you're a
super honest guy and that you'll totally pay me back and you would never keep money from your
friend. I just wanted to check on when you were thinking of paying me back. You just gave that
person a great reputation. They're going to want to live up to that and give you the money back
that they owe you, whatever. That was an example. I actually gave myself the reputation of the person
that I wanted to become and then I tried to do small things every day that voted for that person.
I really wanted to do YouTube full-time and just have that be my thing. I started thinking of
myself and calling myself a creator. What do creators do? They create things. Every day,
I did one thing for my YouTube channel and I've done that now for seven years. Actually,
today was the seventh anniversary of my YouTube channel. Congrats me. Thank you. Thank you.
Literally, I'm not more talented than anybody else. I just gave myself an identity of like,
I am a hard-working, dedicated person and I am a creator. I will become. It's not a dream. It's
not a goal. This is the identity of who I am. Creators create and every week for the past
seven years, I've created a video. Every day, I've done one thing for this channel. It's literally
the only reason I've had success. That's literally the only reason I went from cleaning office
buildings and doing construction to being a YouTuber and being able to travel and have a
beautiful house with chickens and a family and my wife not have to work. It was because I changed my
identity of who I am and I refuse to do things that are not my identity. So, if you change your
identity to being a healthy person, you're not going to go get fast food. If you change your
identity to being a fit person, you're going to go to the gym. If you change your identity to
being a creator, you're going to sign up for the last cohort of the five-hour YouTuber that I'm
going to run in the next six months because I'm having another kid in January. So, I'm going to
take some time off. But we're doing one more launch of how to run a profitable YouTube channel
in five hours a week, something that I've perfected over the last seven years of
totally obsession about this. So, feel free to join the wait list if that's something you want
to do. Link down below. Anyways, the next thing is to make a plan. So, now you know what you want
to do, what you want to keep, who you want to become, who you are, and not just somebody who
you want to become. You are that person. How do you actually get there? Well, I'm going to break
this down really quickly. You can do this with a sheet of paper, but I'm going to use a finisher's
journal because it's what I've literally used every day for the past three years. I've gone
through so many of these things. So, what you want to start off with is a outcome goal. Over the next
90 days, what is one thing that you want to happen? So, like for instance, if your goal was to get in
shape, change your body, become a fit person, we'll go over how you break that down into actionable
steps that you can actually stick to, have a clear plan, know exactly what you should be doing each
and every day to get to that goal without any luck or falling off the bandwagon, this is it. So,
your outcome goal, let's say, is over the next 12 weeks, if you want to go to the gym three times
per week, because that's something you can actually control, then it would be to go to the gym 36
times before the end of the year. What does that look like? What are the action steps to get there?
Well, it's going to be to go to the gym three times a week. Well, how do we break that down
even more? Well, you're going to have to pick a schedule and a time that you're going to go to
the gym. I'm going to go Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 5pm until 5.45pm. And then when I'm at
the gym, I'm going to do these five exercises. And so that's exactly how I break down every goal that
I have. Like if it's financial, if I want to, you know, make an extra thousand dollars a month for
my side hustle, that's like something that I want to do. I can't super control that, but what I can
control is my inputs into this goal. So, I can control, I am going to post instead of one video
a week, two videos a week. In order to do that, I need to script more. I need to do these things
every single day, and I can break down the outcome that I want into actionable steps for 90 days,
and then every week, and then every day. And then every day I know my main priority, I know my
secondary tasks, and then some things that I should get done. I can schedule out my day. Again, you can
do this on a piece of paper. I'm a big fan of these financial journals. I do have like a discount code
and stuff down below just because I've literally used them every day for three years. There's also
like weekly reviews. You can tell what you made progress on, what worked, what didn't work, what
you need to change, how you can adapt to make sure that you're not just like setting this goal, and then
you miss a couple days, and there's no accountability for it. You need accountability, and that's going to
move on to the next step. I personally write these out, and then I send it to one of my friends, and
like for instance, last week I was like, I want to shoot four YouTube videos this week, and for each
one that I miss, I will pay you $100. And so, when there are real world consequences, you actually get
stuff done, and you need that. You need accountability because it's very hard for us to stay motivated
for 90 days, even if everything's all broken down. Like writing things out and giving yourself an exact
schedule really, really helps. Changing your identity really, really helps. But if you have a friend, or
you just want to comment on this video even, just write it down. Put it out into the world that I am
going to do this specific thing by this specific date, and if I don't, here's a consequence. You're
way more likely to do it. I am telling you, I had a friend who was trying to get back into YouTube.
They're like, hey, I'm going to post 10 videos in 10 weeks after not uploading for like six months,
and if I don't, here's a check for $1,000. I want you to cash this if I don't do that. A friend
literally did that a couple months ago, and he posted 10 videos in 10 weeks after missing like
six months of uploading because he had real accountability for the thing that he wanted to do.
He knew he should be doing, but he needed extra accountability. And so, I kind of stole that, and
now I've been doing that as well. Where like, if you just write something down, who really cares? But
if you have intention, and like real, this is something that I need to do, I want to make a
really big change, and you can get a friend or somebody to do that with you, or even just post
it on your Instagram and say, hey guys, hold me accountable to this. I need to make a change, and
so this is what I'm going to do, xxx, and if I don't do it, check in with me, and I'll pay you $100.
You will literally like change yourself as a person. Like, it's such a small thing. I'm telling
you, I have seen it change lives, including my own. Now, at this point, I do want to mention
Fountainhead goals. Hopefully, right now, you already have an idea of what you want to change
the next 90 days, but I would really suggest that you make it your finances. Now, why is that? Well,
your finances are the Fountainhead that lead to everything else. When I got my finances
straightened out, my wife could leave her job. I get to spend more time with my kids. I've been
able to travel the world. My health has gotten better. I have more time to work out. I can
afford to eat better food. Everything, like almost every problem that you have, can be improved up to
a certain point by your finances. It can buy experiences. It can buy leisure. It can buy
health. It can buy anything. So, if you're going to pick one thing over the next 90 days, I would
really suggest try to save money, lower your expenses, figure all that out, or try to earn
more money. Start a side hustle, work extra, whatever it is that you want to do. I think that
is a really, really powerful goal and something that you should not wait until New Year's to do.
And especially, you know, if you're going through the holidays or whatever, that doesn't mean that
you just like let that destroy your finances, getting a bunch of credit card debt, and whatever.
Let this be the time where you actually get ahead, and then you can have another fresh start. Then,
of course, document the gap. Change generally feels kind of fake at first. Like you get excited for a
couple days, and then you're gonna die off. But that is normal, and something that can help you
kind of get through this point is to document more. Whether it's writing things down every day. I know
a lot of people are more physical. When you write things down, you write your thoughts down, what
you're feeling, why you want to do the things that you do. Makes it a lot more real. For me, I'm
actually a big fan of videos. So, whether it's talking to my phone. I have a bunch of videos on my
phone of just like, hey, I'm going through this right now. I really want to change this. I'm thinking
about breaking it down this way. And just to be honest with myself, I feel like my life would be
better if I went in this direction. Something I've done a bunch of times. But whether it's writing
in a journal, doing voice memos, videoing yourself, even like videos like this. I put stuff out there
a decent amount that kind of holds me accountable, and I like to go back and see my progress. See
where I came from. See the transformation that's happened. If you actually document this process,
again, based on what I've been through, I think you'll be much more likely to actually stick with
it if you're documenting the entire thing. Even if it's just writing out one sentence a day,
just recording yourself in the car, just doing a voice video or whatever. The smallest possible
thing every single day holding you accountable is really helpful. Now, if you do want a really
cool tool that'll hold you accountable, I'm a big fan of Finisher's Journal. Again, there's a
discounted link down below. I've literally had a couple friends get this, and it's really helped
them as well. But it is ultimately just a tool, and it's really up to you. But feel free to check
that out. And if making more money and YouTube is something that you want to try, again, I will
leave a link to the waitlist for the last cohort that I'm going to run for probably six months.
If you are interested in joining that, I kind of like share very intimately with people exactly
how I run my channel on five hours a week and how you can do the same. So if you got any value out
of this, feel free to drop a like. It actually really does help the video get boosted to other
people. I'll see you next week.
