Whoa, with launch control this car accelerates from 0-200 kmph in 3.9 seconds and look at the amount of muscles car Muscle car, muscle car, what am I saying? I'm so confused This is the new Audi A6 it has the S on the key, which means this is the S6 However, the full name of this car is the Audi S6 Sportback e-tron Quattro This is the most aerodynamic car ever to be made by Audi because it has a CD value of just 0.21 In fact, this is the most aerodynamic car ever to exist in the whole VW group. Isn't that absolutely crazy? Yeah, the key is a bit plasticky This is to unlock the car, this is to lock the car and this is to open the hood Not really, it's actually to open the boot of the vehicle. In order to open the hood What you have to do is use a few of your fingers and swipe it like this and when you do that The frunk actually opens This is obviously coming from the 911 because Porsche obviously did it before But a lot has been shared with Porsche because the platform is the P-P-P Not the one which you used in COVID 27 litres of storage space here This is probably to access something, maybe the battery because the sign is right there In fact, this also opens and what is below this? It says VW Audi So yeah, VW is there on a lot of parts actually And the VIN number is hidden here You have to open this plastic panel Washer fluid goes in right here This is obviously the headlight and that's not all There are more interesting bits like some exposed bits right here Just below the wiper mechanism, the wiper is also quite robust here And that is I think the chassis number probably This is insulation which is made of thermocol Feels a bit flimsy and cheap as well But there's not much storage space because 27 litres frunk is a bit less When compared to the Q6 e-tron with which it shares a lot of stuff This obviously has a much smaller frunk capacity That's because this car is also a lot lower Let's close the gas struts enabled frunk And the front is actually very different First and foremost, you get the single piece frame The single piece grill frame, whatever you want to call it This Audi logo has a different treatment, it's a 2D treatment There's a front camera here I don't know what this is but that's specific to the S6 That is the radar for ADAS system Obviously, you get 6 parking sensors at the front Because it has got self-park You get matrix LED lights which are very advanced Which will auto-dim if there's something ahead So yeah, it does not blind oncoming traffic Meanwhile, the DRLs actually have 8 different patterns Which you can obviously change from the inside It also has this cool animation, both goodbye and welcome animations You can see how the light is glittering That is absolutely cool You get this sort of a piano black finishing here It also gets headlight washers This is an active air curtain Yes, aerodynamics is the name of the game You obviously get a camera there as well as a range sensor Because it has got level 2 ADAS From the side, the length is almost 4.9 meters The wheelbase happens to be almost 2.9 meters Yes, this is a long car which is quite low down Ground clearance is actually very less But if you have air suspension, you can obviously raise it In terms of tyres, there are 9 options 6 of them actually come from Audi Sport The size of the front tyre is 245-40-21 Because it has got quattro which means 2 motors One at the front, one at the rear You get bigger tyres at the rear Staggered tyre setup because the rear motor obviously has more power The design is actually quite nice S written on the brake caliper In fact, you have 2 options of tyres Either you opt for the range tyres Which give you some extra range Or you can opt for the performance tyres or the dynamic tyres Which are obviously more performance centric It says Pilot Sport EV There is obviously a camera here Because it gets a 360-degree parking camera And this being the S6 has silver finished or aluminium finished mirror caps You see these ridges, they actually create turbulence In order to reduce the Whistling sound Yeah, whistling sound reduces because of that And the door handles are also quite unique The way the door handles have been done, extremely unique Both the driver and co-passenger obviously have electric adjust With 4-way lumbar adjustment And ISOFIX child seat mount And because this is the S6 It obviously has S branding here With a racier seat, a sportier seat right there The passenger gets his own display So this happens to be a 10.9 inch one Which obviously is off right now because I have to turn on the car To get a high visibility jacket For both the driver as well as the passenger And this is a dummy because this car is not having memory seats But you can also opt for that if you want There are lot of optional kit in this car The rear tyre size is obviously bigger 275, 35, 21 Massive rear tyres I like the design of the alloy wheel In fact, you can also opt for plastic covers here So a plastic cover will make this car more aero-efficient Thereby boosting the range by 6 kilometres The difference between both the tyres Will actually boost the range by 25 kilometres Did I say 6 kilometres? I'm so stupid There's so much to remember Now I can't remember half the thing But I meant to say that if you opt for the range tyres 25 kilometres is what the range increases It says E-tron here This piano black finishing telling you exactly where the battery is And obviously it is protecting the battery Behind they have something which is really robust To protect the battery in terms of side collision This is where AC charging happens Just press this and there it opens It should be opening like this It opens electrically AC charging only on the right side You get a shark fin antenna again Finished in gloss black The rear is quite amazing Because it has this welcome animation in the lights Both welcome and goodbye animations are obviously there In the lights because Audi believes in doing a lot of theatre With the lights itself Yeah every time you unlock the car It does this nice light treatment When you lock the car it does the nice light treatment as well Yeah that's quite nice In fact this is for the first time That the Audi logo at the rear is also eliminated It says S6 here with the rhombus There is no other rhombus on the car There should have been somewhere at the front or at least of the side You see this diffuser treatment That reduces the rear axle lift Thereby improving the aerodynamics of the car And reducing drag obviously Get 6 parking sensors at the rear This is the towing hook of the vehicle You get a camera which actually has a spray So that if the camera gets dirty Well you can clean it as well You get a rear spoiler which is very very subtle Which is finished in gloss black obviously No rear wiper washer because this is obviously the sportback If you come to the rear and put your foot below It actually opens the trunk And it even projects something on the floor So you know exactly where you need to do your dance Meanwhile the boot is big at 502 litres Now that is a big boot And below here there is some storage space But I have to remove this first because The net won't let me Wabababa The net won't let me open it There is actually a 12V charging socket here In fact there is a light placement right there And there is a strap here as well The warning triangle has been put here This thing opens which has a sign of the car's boot I don't know what that is There is a parcel shelf here Some amount of storage below right Yes because this car does not get a spare wheel This seems to be the subwoofer because this car has got two subwoofers That is the tyre mobility kit So yeah you can repair a puncture by just Pushing in air And an inflator as well Here is a towing hook And this is to open the wheels Which has the beautiful Audi and VW logo on it So yeah attention to detail is crazy And VW has to tell you every time That it owns Audi Power tailgate obviously I press a button And there it shuts In terms of space at the rear It is actually decent because You can see the all black interior looks quite sporty Here legroom seems good Under thigh support isn't that great Because I am sitting in a knees up position Headroom seems to be adequate enough There is a light here Scooped out seat back with magazine holder You have got heating function at the rear And you have got climate control as well at the rear You can adjust it from there because It has a three zone climate control air conditioning system With AC vents here Here Height adjustable seat belts There is a hook here obviously And there is a centre armrest as well With twin cup holders Centre passenger gets a head I can press this button to recline this because 40-20-40 is the recline angle So you can carry long items as well I love the treatment on the seats It's amazing I love this Alcantara finish as well Quite nice I think you get memory seats at the rear or what Because why this dummy panel here Makes no sense actually But it's still there Door pockets are big enough at the rear too But getting in and out Is a bit of an effort because obviously The car is super low There is no rear sun blind here And this is the top feature because The front seat also gets ISOFIX child seat mount So does the rear And you can recline the seat like this Rather you can fold the seat like this And the seat is fixed Doesn't recline It folds like that That's what I meant It gets the soft close door function So there it pushes it inside to shut it And I think I lost the key somewhere Where did I lose the key? There it is I left it inside the car only I'm so stupid So you don't have to slam close the door You can just push it like this smoothly And there it closes The lights are super advanced because It can communicate to other cars To tell you if there is a hazard So when you turn on the hazard It has a hazard obviously This is the rear fog light And this particular tail light actually has 45 pixels per OLED panel And there are 10 OLED panels Which means there are more than 50 pixels here The boot is not shut or what? I don't know It doesn't seem that it's shut I think it is shut Anyways This is where DC charging happens And this car can obviously charge very fast So come on Open open open There it opens It's a bit slow to open And there is some insect inside Which is running Chal bhaag Yeah there it is flown away So yeah you can charge this car Very very very fast indeed Now it is shutting Has this sort of a Chrome line around the windows obviously And the car is quite low You have the option of steel springs Or you can pay some money to get Air suspension as well Which gives you the option to raise the ride height And hopefully air suspension comes to India The seats are very nice and comfortable It says S here It gets the second generation of the digital mirrors Wherein the camera is now placed little lower As per customer feedback And the screen Let's you just touch operate it To move the angle of the mirror Which is amazing Or rather the angle of the camera Which is quite slick The front towing hook is here The slot is actually here Which is kind of camouflage It even says MMI Audi MMI Right here If you are able to see it Through the screen Because this is acoustic glass Which obviously reduces heat on the inside This slots in right here And the road pockets are actually big enough here This is to open the boot of the vehicle This is to open the front obviously And I was earlier telling you that This is where the memory seat function happens But no Audi has actually shifted all the light controls Right into this particular panel Which is touch sensitive Not the best to operate These are the light controls This is to lock and unlock the vehicle These are the controls for the mirrors And this is for memory seats Meanwhile this is for the child lock function And obviously these are the power window switches It says Bang & Olufsen Because this car has got a 20 speaker sound system With two amplifiers 830 watt output And there are two speakers on each of the front headrests Because this car has got 3D sound as well Which is quite amazing The seat is nice and comfortable You can adjust it in a multitude of ways And this is for the massage function Meanwhile Under the head support is never an issue Because you can actually open and extend it The pedals are metal Even the dead pedal is metal here Secret storage compartment Which is beautifully lined here And obviously you get the electric adjust For the steering wheel too Lot of beautiful materials inside this car As soon as the door shuts The seat is actually moving ahead The Audi logo comes here This obviously does a sort of a show That heads up display is amazing Because it has got the AR function So it has got augmented reality Which actually shows you ADAS functions as well Which is quite amazing It is one of the best I have ever seen Wow Audi wow You do a fab job in that regard Let's turn on the air conditioning Because three zone climate control air conditioning Is an absolute chiller Auto dimming mirror here You get a mirror here along with the light Same is the case there as well It says airbag here And that actually brings me to the glove box of the car Because it okay Automatically audio started Let me turn it off from here Because you get a physical switch The glove box is decent size Beautifully lined here The quality is just amazing Because it feels so robust and well done But this is a bit too glossy because of which It kind of becomes a fingerprint magnet Thankfully we have got a cloth to just clean that So there is some storage space here In fact below here The first aid kit has been kept Because there is 5 liters of storage space inside as well Because this is born electric obviously There is no transmission tunnel going from here You can do that too This does not slide ahead and behind Even if it slides there is no space to slide at all So where do I keep the key I can just keep the key like that There are two USB-C charging sockets There is a cigarette lighter Audi is offering cigarette lighter in these days And that is the reason there is also an ash tray This is where the wireless charging happens Yeah it is out of your sight And Audi says it is done intentionally So it does not distract you Self-control is something This is to turn on the vehicle This is to go to drive select And this is for the hazard lights This is for traction control Thankfully some physical switches there In fact this is to get into the driver assistant menu And this is for the parking camera This is obviously the electric parking brake And this is the drive selector Below here you get twin cup holders Yeah this is sort of a fingerprint magnet Because this is piano black obviously Yeah it attracts a lot of fingerprints By the way this car has got a sort of a moonroof This actually has a very quirky feature Because if I press this button I can change it Yes it has a digital curtain of sorts So look at this okay When I try to shut it It goes one by one And it opens also one by one So one one one one of those panels Is actually getting transparent So it can be changed from transparent to opaque With this various design patterns as well Something similar is obviously there In the RS e-tron GT as well Now this is obviously optional This does not open so it is not a sunroof But yes this brings in a lot of light and airiness In this all black cabin Like I was telling you this is a 10.9 inch screen Which by the way isn't very visible to the driver Because it's tilted more towards the driver Obviously to the co-passenger So I think from the driver's seat I'm seeing so I'm like okay Probably I can see it really nicely Let me get out of this Because you can do a lot of other stuff from here So come on how do we exit That's a bit of a problem Come on there should be a home button somewhere That's the reason now physical buttons Are so important in cars Right now I'm just trying to figure out How do we come out of this Yeah there it is So you get a lot of information here I can obviously open this particular menu Wherein I can access almost everything Which I can do in the center screen From YouTube you have a lot of different functions You can also see the state of charge here And get into the navigation menu Which is obviously phenomenal This is a 14.5 inch screen Which is quite amazing Because firstly it is an OLED screen It is tilted towards the driver All the controls for the ventilation And the heating is given here In a small panel And you can both heat and cool the seats At the same time They make some sound obviously That's not all To get into the AC menu You press this button So there are no physical controls for the AC Which is a bit cumbersome to operate You press this button to heat the steering wheel So it says steering wheel heating is on However the steering also has a button To turn on the heating Which is not such an important feature For the Indian market obviously So a lot of interesting menus here And obviously it will have OT updates as well So you can see the charging There is Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity Both of which obviously work wirelessly here There are multiple themes as well I think you have to buy those themes Because it says no theme is available right now Personalize your Audi's interior by purchasing stuff Oh you are selling me a car so expensive And you are expecting me to purchase stuff Not cool Obviously it has got connected cars So you can go through one of these multiple themes And just make it look funky Beautiful navigation Look at that The quality is just amazing The screen is so high resolution Finally Audi has an amazing scene Because the old one was obviously getting quite dated So if I get into reverse This is the reverse parking camera You obviously get a 360 degree view here And you can press this to clean the rear camera as well If I come into forward This is actually the camera The front camera And it moves So actually the software moves the camera As if the camera doesn't move It moves both in reverse as well as front So that's quite cool actually And it has also got self park function Let's quickly come into the massage function So there are multiple massages Relaxing, balance and stretch as well And you can decide the intensity of the massage I'm just going to stop it right now Because it's distracting me So beautiful screen here Now this is an 11.9 inch instrument cluster Which doesn't have much information To use these buttons to make changes So this is another view Yeah that's about it It is not very loaded as such So I can just go through here Multiple information about the trip and data And then I can come into the right side one And then make changes there So yeah it's not very loaded as such It could have been more loaded for sure Because now people are making crazy instrument clusters Specifically Mercedes-Benz Which does the best job in instrument clusters The Audi logo here Flat top treatment Flat bottom treatment The S logo And buttons on the steering wheel Which are little touch sensitive Not the best to operate So this is obviously for the audio system And this is to operate the instrument cluster screen This is for the cruise control And you get automatic wipers You get automatic headlights as well I love this treatment It's just so amazingly done Yes the steering wheel does feel nice to hold And if there is someone in your line of sight Like the blind view alert It will blink right here Now let's come into an important aspect of this particular screen Which means I need to get into this menu And we come into the car menu here Because there is something known as One second let me just increase the brightness here Yeah it's full bright only Everything seems to be bright for the Audi virtual cockpit Let's come into the lights Okay Because we can obviously change this There are 8 different patterns for it So yeah you can change it from the inside Which is quite cool And I accidentally hit the air conditioning switch So air conditioning has turned on right now This is super duper cool Yeah Audi is always at the forefront In terms of what all it can do The lighting system However the interior light is also quite amazing Because finally we have got 64 colours here Yeah that's right we have got 64 colours for the ambient lighting Let me try and change that for the lines as well So you can change it for the lines or for the surfaces as well So that's quite nice And you have some pre-selected ones too So you can change them here If you notice one thing You can also opt to link the lights to the drive select And what is this? I hope they do Ya there they roll down obviously The rear windows don't roll down all the way And let me just roll them back up Notice one thing That the rear windows get the tinting function Yes that is privacy glass Not at the front At the rear it is very much legal in most of the countries And it gets dynamic swipe indicators Both at the rear as well as the front too So the lights are like really cool in this car Meanwhile let me quickly get inside again Because I forgot to tell you that You can also play games Yes the driver can also play games Because this particular screen also has the gaming function So let me just shut it If I turn on the air conditioning now You will notice something very very funky in this car So the car is not turned on actually Now it is turned on Now notice one thing okay Let's come into the fan speed here Ya and it is going to say that seat unoccupied That's the reason AC is not working on this seat Because the car senses it is unoccupied So why to turn on the AC and waste like power Ya it's all about efficiency Let me quickly get into this menu And this is BB Racing wherein I can also play games Isn't that super duper cool By the way I can go next track and previous track from this So physical switch is obviously such a good thing here What does this exactly do? It is telling me about all the ADAS systems in this car Fatigue warning, distraction warning, warning whatever Now it wants me to play games So let's start driving right away And straight away I am actually going to come into dynamic mode Okay this has become a fingerprint magnet Little bit of sound difference I can feel already I am not even accelerating I can feel the sound difference And off we go Oh there is the sound Ya artificial sounds obviously So this car is underpinned by the PPE platform Which is basically premium platform electric Which first debuted with the Q6 e-tron And it has a 100 kWh battery pack That is the gross capacity of the battery The net you end up getting is 94.9 kWh And it has got 12 modules Each of the modules has around 15 cells So there are 180 prismatic cells And the reason for less cells is The way this whole battery has been packaged And that's one of the major reasons why the PPE architecture Is very sought after in the whole Audi group Or rather in the whole VW group Because it has been co-developed by Audi and Porsche together First and foremost this car is heavy It weighs more than 2 tonnes You know what's the weight of this car This car weighs 2175 kgs Which is a lot Yes that is a lot of weight In fact the battery alone weighs 594 kgs So that is heavy In fact there is also Okay let's accelerate The fake sound coming in So there are two battery pack options This is obviously the bigger battery pack Otherwise you can get the smaller 83 kWh battery pack Which weighs just 514 kgs Yeah that is slightly lighter because I think two modules have been removed So each module is like having 15 cells So lesser cells there In order to overtake a cyclist I have to go into the other lane Obviously I can whack open the throttle and completely fly This is the S6 but in India we are going to get the A6 first And A6 also has a lot of models The lowest A6 e-tron is actually having the 83 kWh battery pack And power keeps varying depending on which variant you opt for Okay the steering is having a mind of its own So the base variant is obviously rear wheel drive Then there is an Audi A6 Sportback e-tron performance That is also rear wheel drive Yes that's right Power increases slightly there 362 hp Or in launch control that becomes 375 hp So that is quite a lot because that is just going to the rear wheels Meanwhile it also has a good amount of torque of 565 Nm Going from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds And has a top speed of 210 kmph Then that same thing gets quattro So it gets a front motor which adds more power But in the S6 power is crazy Because the rear motor remains the same Which means you get the same 375 hp at the rear motor The front motor is having half of that Exactly half of that So 187 hp The combined is almost 550 hp But that is with launch control Without launch control I think 493 hp Making the car go from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds That is Audi RS5 level performance in a S6 obviously Yeah because instant torque is what you get here Look at the way it absolutely pulls Kind of squats down So Audi is obviously going for a bigger rear motor Because they want to give it a rear biased power delivery And that's the reason the rear motor is twice the size of the front motor That's quite the difference In fact all the cars other than the S6 Have a top speed of 210 kmph The S6 has a top speed of 240 kmph And range is also very impressive Usually the range is somewhere around 700 km Again the range depends on what wheels do you opt for 1920s or 21s The range also depends on whether you get the plastic covers for better aero efficiency Or whether you opt I mean you can configure it on the Audi website And keep seeing the range alter accordingly So depending on which option you opt for in terms of the wheels The range obviously differs Here because this has this amazing roof Which also has the trickery of changing the colours The weight has increased and the range of this car has also come down So it's around 675 km However in the real world you can expect this car to offer great mileage Because it is extremely aerodynamic Here I say it is heavy Electric cars are heavy because of the weight of the battery Almost 600 kgs being the weight of any electric car's battery Definitely does the performance Because an internal combustion engine definitely is a lot less in terms of weight Ahh the regen is very strong In fact you can see how much brake I am using right now The transition between recuperation or regenerative braking to the mechanical braking Is very smoothly done because they have something known as brake blending Using that they can ensure that there is a very smooth shift between both the type of brakes And that's the reason why it performs so well Now the thing is I don't want the recuperation Okay I am just going to change Please select D to use the paddle shifter So we are in B mode I believe So now I am going to change this thing and turn off regen braking Now it's not automatically slowing down the car thankfully Otherwise the regen is quite sharp And it can also dramatically reduce the speed of the car Without you having to apply the brakes which is such a good thing Thereby definitely making driving hassle free in the city It's very smooth, very refined Doesn't have the kickback all of a sudden You know pushing the bike into the seat It's very leaner sort of performance here This is obviously the second model on PP Architecture In fact this particular car has direct cooling of the electric motors So that definitely helps And you can also opt for the logo to remain in the same direction for the wheels So yeah you can make it a fidget spinner And that is so much like a Rolls Royce Definitely coming from there I believe This car has the option of playing games In the heads up display using the paddle shifters Because you actually play games Isn't that super duper cool that playing games using the paddle shifters And that's not all It has got 84 LEDs So this interaction bar is actually having 84 freaking LEDs Which you can't really feel or see it but it works phenomenally well I am going to quickly change the view The view here is kind of weird Because I mean it could have been done better In terms of what the instrument cluster shows Because the electric cars are also available in Mercedes And Mercedes does a fantastic job in what all you can see in the instrument cluster Charging times are actually very fast So standard it comes with an 11 kilowatt AC charger Which is the fastest at the moment Because they will come up with a 22 kilowatt later With the car or maybe that's an option you have to pay for it This car can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes Using a 270 kilowatt DC ultra fast charger Yeah that is the fastest you can charge this car However with the 11 kilowatt it's going to take 10 hours Or 5 hours with a 22 kilowatt AC charger So home charging is where you will definitely be charging this car Because not everybody is going to go everyday to a DC charger Which is something which is probably rarely used as such I love the AR display ya The way it shows me if I am going out of a lane The way it shows me ADAS warnings with those whole animations Just amazingly done So like this is obviously the S6 e-tron Which is quattro all wheel drive It has 543 horsepower Only with launch control otherwise 496 horsepower I don't know why all the power is not available Because it is obviously electric A boost mode here would be really awesome But I think they will have an RS6 e-tron as well Which will have the boost mode Which should have more than 700 horsepower for sure Now I am speculating obviously This car rivals the BMW i5 At least in India it is going to rival the BMW i5 But the i5 comes via the CBU route And this is also going to come via the CBU route Should be priced around 1 crore However the i5 is the M60 Very powerful 601 horsepower Audi is definitely Not going to offer us that much power Because obviously even this S6 e-tron is producing Just 550 PS of power Somewhere around that But 855 Nm of torque In fact the front axle is producing 275 Nm of torque Meanwhile the rear axle is producing 580 Nm of torque And this particular car has a Claimed range of 675 km on a full charge But this particular car, the one I am driving Because of the bigger wheels, that is 646 km So everything obviously affects The aero efficiency of this car And depending on the configuration That obviously changes.
