Good afternoon, almost evening from Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I got my boy Ronnie here, as usual.
He's been helping me out a lot. Thank you so much, bro.
And today we're actually going to explore...
Sorry, sorry guys, sorry.
You know, it's chaos here in Dhaka.
But we're actually going to be exploring a street food area.
Very famous street food area, known as Muhammadpur.
And they have all kinds of street food there.
I'm very excited, I've never tried this area.
Tried street food in Dhaka, but not this area.
Apparently this is the happening area these days, right?
Yes, the new area.
For the young people.
I'm not so young myself anymore, but today I'm going to pretend to be.
And we're on our way there now.
Oh, that one hurt.
What's this?
This is the...
Elephants?
Yeah, elephants.
Really? There's elephants inside?
No.
Oh, okay.
But they had elephants probably.
Oh, okay. At some point.
Danmundi Lake, this one.
Alrighty guys, we have arrived to Muhammadpur.
This is one of the areas in Muhammadpur that has many many food carts around.
And we are in front of Town Hall.
In front of Town Hall.
So as you can see, there's many many different kind of food vendors here.
So we're going to try out some stuff.
Actually, you know what I haven't tried yet, bro?
The momo here. And I heard about it.
So let's go try that first.
So who has good momo here? Let's see.
This way?
Okay, I think this guy has. Let's see.
Right here, Momo Mama.
Momo Mama.
Wow.
Alright.
My man's whipping them up.
Hello brother. Assalamualaikum.
Hi brother.
This is momo?
Bangladesh momo?
Yeah.
Which one?
Which one is good, bro?
I don't know.
Which one is popular?
Chicken steamed?
Chicken steamed.
Okay.
So...
It's spicy.
Spicy?
It's normal.
Normal? Let's do normal.
Excellent.
Yeah, one.
Alright guys, so as you can see, they whip them up in here.
You make it in here? In this one?
Can I see?
How you make?
Can I see?
Is this number one momo in Bangladesh?
Number one?
Best momo?
Okay, let's see.
I will try and give you my review.
Here it is, guys.
This is the momo.
Six pieces.
And this is the spicy chili sauce that they give you.
So we're gonna try it out now.
Alright, so this is just a regular chicken momo.
And you give you some...
This is like a chili sauce, I think, as you can see.
Like a chili sauce.
I think you just eat it with your hands.
Ooh, hot.
Hot, hot, hot.
I don't know if I can do this, but let's see.
Very good.
Listen, momo is a Nepali, actually, a Nepali cuisine.
Very popular in Nepal.
But for being outside of Nepal, this is pretty legit.
It does taste like a legit momo.
The texture is also on point.
Obviously, it's not as good as Nepal, but it's good.
You can see the chicken, shredded chicken inside.
Very hot.
A great start to the street food tour here in Mohammadpur.
Definitely, if you come to Mohammadpur, in Dhaka, try out Mama Momo.
Really good.
And fair price as well.
I have to be honest, I'm very impressed with the street food scene here in Bangladesh.
It's quite eclectic, man.
I wasn't expecting this kind of street food scene.
It's very, very happening.
And they have so many different areas for street food, too.
This is just one of the areas, Mohammadpur.
But there's also many different areas that you can go to to get street food.
Very booming culture, especially here in Dhaka.
Food is done.
Very nice.
Thank you.
Very good.
Very delicious.
So if you guys come to this road, Mohammadpur, come try out Mama Momo.
What's next, man?
What do we do next?
You can try anything.
Let's see.
We've already tried Puchka before, so I want to try something different.
You want to try?
I don't want to try.
Okay, I'll try one.
I'll try one.
What's the big one?
Raj Kachori.
Raj Kachori?
One, please.
140.
140 for one piece.
Okay, that's fine.
What's your name?
Shahid Doi Puchka.
Shahid Doi?
Doi Puchka.
Shahid Doi Puchka.
That's the name of this shop.
Shahi.
Shahi Doi Puchka.
Okay.
Very nice.
So he's going to prepare the...
This one is...
This one...
What's the name?
Raj Kachori.
Okay, very nice.
Coca-Cola.
Durian.
Put it in.
Cashew.
Yeah, some cashew.
Raisins.
Nimki.
Salty.
Salty chips.
Puchka.
Whoa, look at that.
Drank it with yogurt.
Holy crap.
So many ingredients.
How do you eat this thing?
I have no idea how I'm going to eat this thing.
It's just...
A million different things.
It's very messy.
I think you're supposed to eat it with a spoon maybe?
I don't know.
There's no way you can eat it with your hands.
And then some hot sauce on top.
Some chutney.
Alright, here we go.
Alright, let me try this out.
Look at this, man.
Way too much on this.
I can't eat this whole thing, bro.
You're going to have to help me.
Yeah, sure.
Let's try this bite first.
A little bit sweet.
With some spice.
Kind of tastes like chaat.
Like a papar chaat.
If you've ever tried that before.
But...
The yogurt is the main ingredient in this, I think.
Because you can really taste the yogurt.
And then from the inside, you've got to eat the chana.
And the different things that he put inside.
Dipping in some yogurt.
Not bad.
Not my favorite, but...
Not bad.
The momo was better, for sure.
But, if you like like a chaat kind of dish.
This is good.
Also, this one costs 140 taka for one of these.
Big pieces.
Which is...
Like a dollar and 30 cents.
Something like that.
It's good.
Very yummy.
The raisins, though.
I'm not a big fan of the raisins.
I think the raisins is kind of a useless ingredient.
It just doesn't feel right inside of this whole thing.
It's okay.
So, let's see.
A local Bangladesh person's review of this puchka.
Let's see what he thinks.
Yeah, it's more like the doi puchka.
Same like doi puchka.
Yeah.
Are you a fan of this food?
Growing up, eating it?
Not a fan, but it's good.
It's okay.
Yeah, I also agree.
It's not the best, but not too bad.
The best burger in...
Yes, sir.
The best burger in Dhaka?
Yes, yes, yes.
Guys, can you confirm?
He's saying this is the best burger in Dhaka.
100%?
Yes, 100%.
Okay, then let's try it.
It's all called Burger Mania.
Burger Mania, okay.
Can we have a small burger?
Yes, yes, of course.
Not too big, because we're trying different food today.
Have a seat, sir, please.
Thank you, bhai.
Can I see your process?
Thank you.
They got the meat sitting here.
Fresh?
Everyday fresh?
Everyday fresh.
Very nice, okay.
How are you, brother?
Alright, we're gonna sit down.
I love Bangladesh.
Yeah, I love Bangladesh, brother.
You're my brother.
We're the same, bhai.
We're brothers.
Have a seat, sir.
Okay, one second.
I have to ask these guys.
You guys come here everyday or a lot?
Not everyday.
Sometimes.
And what's your favorite food to try in Mohammadpur?
Your favorite food?
One food that you can recommend for people who are watching the video.
Burger.
No, don't just say it because we're here.
Give me the honest answer.
Straight food.
Some like burger.
Okay.
Regular burger.
Okay.
So you genuinely like this one?
Okay.
So I just...
Meatbox.
Meatbox, which is...
That one.
Okay, very nice.
Meatbox.
We'll try that next.
Yes, there is.
Do you have any message for people who are watching about Bangladesh, about Dhaka?
Do you want to say something?
Bangladesh is always best.
Bangladesh?
It's always best.
Always best.
Yes, yes.
Of course.
And also, people of Bangladesh are very nice and welcoming.
Very nice.
Awesome.
Thank you guys.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
So guys, if you come to Bangladesh, one thing I can tell you is you will feel welcomed.
As a foreigner, they will welcome you.
Don't worry.
Please visit us.
Okay, sure.
Thank you very much.
So guys, this right here, what's your name?
My name is Iman.
Huh?
Iman.
And he is one of the three owners of Burger Mania.
We are total three.
Total three.
Can you tell me, what does it take to start a business here in Mohammadpur?
Actually, after graduation, we had a lot of problems.
Okay.
Sometimes we need some money.
Is it expensive to start a business here?
No, no.
No.
Okay.
It's totally in your mind.
Okay.
If you have a good idea and good food, you can start.
You can start anything.
Okay.
And what is the challenge of having a business here?
A lot of competition.
Okay, okay.
But if your food is good, you will make money.
You can make money.
You can be successful.
I make the food, actually.
You make the food?
He's the chef.
And please tell your name as well.
Are you also one of the owners?
Owners, yes.
Ah, very nice.
Are you brothers?
Yes.
Brother from another mother.
Nice, nice.
Very nice.
Awesome.
I love to see young businessmen.
Yes, yes.
It makes me very happy.
Thank you, thank you.
How old are you guys, if you don't mind me asking?
Twenty-four, twenty-five.
So young.
Mashallah.
So young.
Starting a business.
That's great.
Very nice.
See that, guys?
Young entrepreneurs, man.
Making it work here in Bangladesh.
Please tell the Burger Mania name is told.
Yeah.
For sure.
We're going to promote your business.
Definitely.
Yeah.
You guys are very nice people.
Thank you so much.
Sure.
Let me give you my YouTube.
Sorry.
Here is the burger from Burger Mania.
Check it out.
Look how juicy it is.
Got the mayo, got the ketchup.
It's mayo and ketchup.
Mayo and ketchup.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And ketchup.
Very nice.
All right.
So honestly, one thing I have to say is these gentlemen are such nice people.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
That's why their business is going to be so successful because they have customer service.
They're very, very friendly.
All right, guys.
We're going to try this out.
It's very hot.
It's fresh off the grill.
How is it?
Amazing.
The chicken is fresh.
The mayo is sweet.
The ketchup is perfect.
It's a very simple street food, but they've mastered it.
That's what it looks like on the inside.
Listen, I love how the bun has a little bit of a crunch to it because they also grill
the bun.
So if you look on the outside of the bun, it's a bit crispy and that gives it a very
nice texture.
Amazing.
Burger Mania, guys.
Make sure you come support these fellas.
Yes, please come.
Please come.
Thank you, guys.
Thank you so much.
And how much for one burger?
60 taka.
60 taka, guys.
60 taka in dollars, that's like 50 cents when you get this amazing burger.
You can never get that back home.
For 50 cents, I mean, you can't even walk into a food store for 50 cents.
This is amazing.
You want to try?
No.
You sure?
I'm going to finish it.
You sure?
Yeah.
Cool.
Another good thing about the street food here is, although, because most food in Bangladesh
is very spicy, but this food, even as a foreigner, if you don't eat spicy food, you can enjoy
this food.
It's not overly spicy.
It's a perfect balance.
So you don't have to worry about too spicy.
Although I love spicy food, but sometimes you got to try different things too.
So it's amazing, man.
You got all kinds of food.
We're going to go try some more stuff out.
So stay tuned.
How much for the food?
You see guys, they're not even letting me pay for the food.
But what I'm saying is like, this is your business, right?
So I want to support your business.
This is Bangladeshi hospitality, man.
They don't let you pay for anything.
Honestly, I've had money in my pocket and I haven't used it because nobody lets me pay
for it.
Thank you.
Thank you guys.
Thank you so much.
All right, guys.
So when you come here, come support these fellas.
Thank you so much.
Thank you.
All right, guys.
So now we've come to a different section of Mohammedpur.
This area is known as Solimulla.
Solimulla Road.
And this one is more like traditional foods, right?
More Bangladeshi foods rather than foreign foods.
This looks like Jalebi.
Yeah, it's Jalabi.
I call it Jalabi.
So very, very fat Jalabi.
Very nice.
Should we try something here?
So guys, this is Mijan Restaurant.
And they have some Jalabi sitting out.
So I'm going to try one piece of Jalabi.
I haven't tried Jalabi in Bangladesh yet.
So it's going to be my first time.
Usually the Jalabi I've tried is more orange and skinnier.
But wow.
Very good.
It's actually not as sweet as I expected.
It's a bit less sweet than I imagined.
Very good.
Very delicious.
Thank you, bhai.
Welcome.
How much for one piece?
How much?
How much for one piece?
3 Taka.
3 Taka?
3.
10 Taka.
10.
10 Taka.
Which is like less than 10 cents for this Jalabi.
Hello, kitty.
What's this?
Soup?
Assalamualaikum.
This guy is making some soup.
Which soup?
Chicken corn soup.
This is sugarcane juice.
Vinegar.
Okay, vinegar.
Some water.
Some green chili.
And this is the chicken soup.
Wow.
Very yummy.
Looks like Chinese soup.
Chinese, yeah.
Chinese style?
Very nice.
And what's your shop name?
What's the name of the shop?
Nosa Soup.
Nosa Chicken Soup.
Nosa?
Chicken Soup.
Very nice, guys.
Okay.
I will walk.
Maybe we'll come back.
You want one?
60 Taka.
60 Taka for one.
You want one?
No.
Okay, we'll come back.
Thank you.
So along this street, as you can see, it's mostly traditional Bangladesh kind of street food.
This is chop, right?
Yeah.
Chicken Tikka.
Okay.
Very nice.
Assalamualaikum.
Waalaikumsalam.
Where are you from?
I'm from U.S.
U.S.
Where are you from?
I'm from Bangladesh.
Dhaka?
What's your name?
My name is Tanjim.
Tanji?
Tanjim.
Nice to meet you, buddy.
Nice to meet you.
You should...
Do you like to try your food here?
You eat some food?
What's your favorite food to eat?
Kebab.
Kebab?
Salim Kebab, right?
Salim Kebab.
Oh, okay.
We have to try that then.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
So guys, we are here at Salim Kebab Ghar, which basically means Salim Kebab House.
And this place is very famous in Bangladesh.
Assalamualaikum.
Waalaikumsalam.
And this is the Salim Kebab?
Yes.
What is the famous dish here?
This is the famous dish?
Okay.
We will try one chicken kebab, please.
This one?
Beef.
Beef is famous?
Okay.
Whatever is the most famous, give me that.
This looks like it's been here a long time.
45 years.
MashaAllah.
45 years, guys, in business.
That means their food is very good.
You're supporting India?
US.
You're supporting India?
Yes.
What about Bangladesh?
Bangladesh, right?
No, what about Bangladesh?
First Bangladesh.
First Bangladesh, second India.
What about Pakistan?
No.
Number three.
This country is Muslim.
Yeah.
Any Muslim country you support.
Wow, look at the fire coming up.
It's a coal fire.
Which one is this?
Chicken?
Chicken.
Very nice.
But this one is beef.
We're going to try the beef.
How much is one kebab?
One kebab.
How much money?
130.
Okay, very nice.
That's a bit on the expensive side, but 45 years of experience, they deserve it.
Here we have the beef kebab from the famous Salim Kebab Garh.
As you can see, this is some chunky beef pieces.
One thing I haven't tried a lot of in Bangladesh is beef.
Usually it's chicken, fish.
They don't eat too much beef.
I think beef is more expensive.
But this is legit beef right here.
Look at those chunky pieces of beef.
Very chewy.
I'm not sure.
Very fatty.
But very yummy.
Very good seasoning.
Not too spicy.
But a lot of flavor.
Different flavors.
You can taste cumin, some turmeric, coriander, a little bit of chili.
But not too spicy.
And very tender.
Very chewy.
I think they use very fatty pieces of beef.
Do you want to try?
No, no.
Thank you.
I like it.
45 years of business, there's a reason for that.
The food is legit.
Also, it's sanitary, it's clean.
You don't have to worry.
Sometimes you do have to worry with street food.
But here you don't.
Actually, I think most of Muhammadpur you don't have to worry about the street food.
It's pretty sanitary, right?
I like it.
I like it a lot.
Very good.
But this, what you're seeing, is 130 taka.
A dollar and 20 cents.
Food is so cheap in Bangladesh.
It's amazing.
Alright guys, here we go.
Here's something else, something new.
I've tried this in the Philippines.
It's like they take potato chips like this.
They take the potato.
Let's see how he does it.
Let's take skill.
Look at that.
This is how he curls out the potato with it.
That's cool, man.
You gotta squeeze out the water.
Clean it up.
And then, put it on a stick.
And then spread it out.
And that's how it becomes this one.
This is the final product.
Very cool.
And you have to put it in the oil, no?
How much for one piece?
One piece?
30 taka?
30 taka.
Okay, can I have one piece?
And this one, chili?
Spicy?
Mint?
A little bit.
30 taka for one piece of this.
Look at that.
This is just like a long potato chip.
Very good.
I just like the way it looks.
Super cool looking.
Very messy, though.
You have tissue, man?
So, 30 taka for this.
So, basically, between all the food that you saw me eat,
I haven't even spent like $5, I think.
Maybe like $5, $6 maximum.
And I'm pretty full.
So, just wanted to show you guys like,
what it's like getting street food.
And also, every food that I tried was good.
But my favorite still is the first one that I tried,
which was the momo.
That was really, really yummy.
Also, that salim kebab was really good, too.
One thing in Bangladesh, you'll notice,
every one of my videos,
all you're gonna hear in the background is
a bunch of beeping, horns, yelling.
There's always something going on in Dhaka.
It's so loud.
I like to call it organized chaos.
So, here's a piece of advice for you guys.
Now, there's a lot of people who come and travel
to different countries,
and you guys don't try the street food
because you're afraid that you'll get sick.
Yes, that's a valid concern.
I do agree, you do have to be careful.
My advice on getting street food is
go for the places that are the busiest.
Like, people are constantly coming in and out,
which means they're gonna have to keep making new food.
Don't go to the places that don't have too many people.
Also, don't come to a place and not try the street food.
Honestly, street food is how you see the culture,
how you see everything.
So, it's a sin to come to a place
that has such an eclectic street food culture
and not try it.
Should we go through this way?
Uh, no, that way.
Okay.
Oh, oh, oh, sorry.
It's like a flower shop.
Chaos, guys, chaos.
Actually, I'm gonna give my wrap-up thoughts
in my last video, but I'll tell you right now.
If I could describe Bangladesh in one word,
or Dhaka in one word,
it would be chaos.
Constantly.
Look at this.
Mix up.
Constantly mixed up.
Alright, guys, you know,
there's no night that ends in Bangladesh without chai.
We have to have chai to end the night.
So, I'm pretty full from food,
but I do wanna have some chai,
some tea, some dude tea.
So, we're gonna try.
Apparently, somebody recommended this place,
the guy over there.
So, we're gonna try this place.
Chai and chill.
We're gonna have some chai and chill.
Looks like it's pretty packed, though.
Assalamualaikum.
Yeah, just need some tea.
Some chai.
Signature chai.
You want some chai?
Yeah.
Okay.
We'll take some.
You like malai or?
I think signature chai.
Thank you.
Can I have one signature milk tea?
Two, please.
And that's it.
Oh, no. We just ate so much food.
Yeah, just please.
Thank you.
Huh?
Two signature, yeah.
And can I have one bottle of water, please?
One.
Yeah.
Cold.
Thank you.
This is a...
How long has this shop been here?
How many years is this place?
Three years, okay.
And this is...
Okay.
Is this Mohammadpur also?
Mohammadpur, okay.
Okay.
I heard your chai is very good.
Alright, guys, so if you come to Mohammadpur...
I will pay, don't worry.
Yeah, I'm just gonna sit down.
He said pay first.
I'm like, don't worry.
I'm not leaving without paying.
So, this is some chai and chill tea.
We've been recommended to come to this place.
So, let's try it out.
Is it very hot?
It's tea hot.
Yeah.
I don't know, man.
Sometimes you guys drink very hot tea.
I can't drink it like this.
Oh, no.
It's a good temperature.
Very sweet.
Not too sweet.
Huh?
Not too sweet.
Not too sweet?
I eat a lot of sugar.
That's why it's not good.
Yeah.
I don't like too much sugar.
I'm adding some.
You're gonna add some?
Whoa.
Okay.
It's good.
It's not bad.
Not the best tea I've tried in Bangladesh, but it's good.
Chai and chill.
I like the place, though.
I like the ambiance.
The chai is not bad.
My time here in Dhaka is almost up.
Almost time to leave soon.
But, I really enjoyed it here.
This place is so unique compared to any other place I've been to in the world.
There's nothing like it.
It's a place of its own, for real.
Maybe it's not the first place on everyone's itinerary, but
if you're into adventure and crazy travel,
I would say come to Bangladesh.
It's definitely a unique experience.
It's not as strong, right?
Yeah.
It's okay.
Yeah.
It's not the best tea I've tried, but here it is.
It's milky.
Milk will get more precious.
Yeah.
No, but I've tried other milk tea and it's been stronger, you know.
Listen, I don't lie to you guys.
If I love something, I tell you I love it.
If it's okay, I tell you it's okay.
If it's not good, I'll tell you it's not good.
This is okay.
But, like I said, the place is nice, though.
To sit down and have some tea.
Very small, but nice.
But nice.
You got a nice open view.
You can just see people passing by, do some people watching.
It's always fun.
I think I'm going to wrap the video up here, guys.
Not much else left here besides Doggo over here.
Hello, Doggo.
Very healthy.
This dog is eating better than some people, I think.
He's been eating really good.
Yeah, guys.
