Hey, we want to welcome all of you to our podcast today,
Rayma C. TV.
I'm your host, Don Boyer.
And I'm Melinda Boyer, and we are so happy
you're with us today.
Hey, let me ask you a question.
Have you ever been working for somewhere
or you're looking for a new job
and you wanted to know,
can the interviewer hurry up with all their questions
and just tell you what the benefits are?
Well, we're going to find out,
does God pay benefits?
We'll be right back.
So one of the areas that a lot of people wonder,
and by the way, the apostle Peter asked this question too,
when you're working for God,
does he pay any benefits?
Now, before we delve into that,
the religious mind will always say,
what do you mean?
No, no, no, you serve God.
You work for God.
You don't expect nothing back.
But is that biblical?
I don't think so.
Well, that's interesting you say that
because I remember when we first started our business,
you know, the first thing I thought,
I thought we were working for God
and everything that we do is for God.
You know, so is there a difference?
I feel so very blessed.
And I know that everything that we've done
was through the light of God, right?
But do people really think like that?
Yeah, and you know, on these last few podcasts,
at least for this month,
these podcasts have really been asking
some interesting questions,
but not just the podcasts.
Sophia, one of our granddaughters,
Jennifer called me and said,
Dad, I need your help.
Sophia has some questions,
and I don't know how to answer.
Now, I already knew at five years old,
there's gonna be some questions come out
that, you know, I'm not sure I'm gonna answer.
She wanted to know what kind of vegetables Jesus eats.
She wanted to know how does he get to Mars
and how does he get to the moon?
How does he, what kind of car does he drive?
Right?
That's Sophia.
Yeah, she has some really interesting questions
that I find out through this whole month.
These are topics that are coming up.
And this whole area, too, of God's benefits
and business and ministry and all,
how do we combine all of that?
So, one of the things that I found
was a number of things that were beneficial
or, quote, benefits that Jesus offered his disciples.
First of all, he recruited them.
He said, come follow me.
Leave your boats, your fishing business behind.
Come follow me and I'll make you fishers of men.
So, they left their enterprise,
their entrepreneurship enterprise
to go follow or go work for Jesus.
Was there any benefits?
So, there's a number of benefits
that I found throughout the Bible
that was really interesting.
Number one, Jesus always picked up the tab
and took care of their food bill.
Right, he always was one that was willing
to pick up the check.
When the check come, he didn't have to go to the bathroom.
When the check come, he didn't get a phone call
and had to go outside, right?
He was willing, and part of the benefits,
to pick up everything.
In fact, let's go to Matthew.
I think it's in the 17th chapter.
Is it Matthew?
No, I think it's Matthew 14.
Is it Matthew 14?
Oh, yeah, that's right.
You got my glasses.
Yes, I do have your glasses.
Because I am going to be reading.
Okay, so it is Matthew 14.
I'm glad you caught that.
It is Matthew 14, 19 through 21.
Then he had everyone sit down on the grass,
and then he took the five loaves and two fish.
He looked up into heaven, gave thanks to God,
and broke the bread into pieces.
He then gave it to his disciples,
who in turn gave it to the crowd.
And everyone ate until they were satisfied.
For the food was multiplied in front of their eyes.
They picked up the leftovers and filled up 12 baskets full.
There were about 5,000 men who were fed
in addition to many women and children.
So maybe 10,000 people being conservative that he fed.
Now here's what's interesting.
He's the one that fed them
because he multiplied the fish and the bread.
But people will say, well, yeah,
but that was a little boy that gave him the fish and bread.
But it says for a reason in the scriptures
that after they were all done,
after they were all full, they ate as much as they want,
and probably more than they should.
There was 12 baskets full.
Who was that for?
That was for the young lad.
That was for the boy for giving the two fishes and the bread.
He said, here's your seed, I'm multiplying back to you.
So Jesus always picked up the tab.
That was one of the benefits.
Another benefit that I found which was really interesting
was for Peter because he paid their taxes.
Let's go to, now, I think that's where we go to Matthew 17.
Yes, that's Matthew 17.
Is that Matthew 17?
That's Matthew 17.
Let's look at that.
But so that we don't offend them,
go to the lake and throw out your hook,
and the first fish that rises up
will have a coin in its mouth.
It will be the exact amount you need
to pay the temple tax for both of us.
Okay, so here he is now,
owing tax money.
He tells Peter, go down, pull out the fish.
There's gonna be some money there,
but it's gonna be enough for your taxes and my taxes.
Go pay.
So he picked up the debt of taxes that Peter owed.
That was part of the benefit
for Peter being on his payroll, right, working for God.
That was part of his benefit.
Now, someone says, well, that was just one instance,
and that was just for Peter.
Really?
Well, the Bible says that God is not a respecter of persons.
What he does for one person, he'll do for everyone.
How many people have had the experience
of having tax reduction or debt reduction, right?
Millions of people have had tax wiped out
when they believe God.
Now, that doesn't mean that we are gonna do that
to beat the system.
It's just showing us that God gives us many benefits,
just like an employer.
So he picked up the tab for all their food,
picked up the taxes for them, for Peter.
He also gave health benefits for them and their families.
So when you go to a job,
they're gonna say, we're gonna give you health insurance.
Jesus didn't give them health insurance.
He gave them healing insurance,
which is a very powerful concept.
In fact, let's go there.
That is in, what is it?
That's Luke?
Luke 4.
Let me get there.
And I think it's verse 38, if my notes are correct.
Yes.
So after leaving the synagogue,
Jesus went into Simon's house,
where Simon's mother-in-law was sick with a high fever.
The disciples begged Jesus to help her.
Jesus stood over her and rebuked the fever,
and rebuked the fever, and she was healed instantly.
Then she got up and began to serve.
Part of Peter's payroll.
Health and healing benefits for him and his family.
Now, he also gave them life insurance.
Now, I'm not talking about eternal life insurance,
because that's part of it too.
But he gave them life insurance
because when they were in the garden,
Peter, which was spontaneous,
cut off the guard's ear when they came to arrest Jesus,
which could have cost Peter his life.
But Jesus picked up the ear and put it back on,
and it wasn't with superglue.
It was with divine power.
Protecting Peter's life from the guards
not persecuting him and killing him.
So we start looking at all these things.
And then Jesus, or Peter has the audacity
to tell Jesus, well, what are our benefits
for following you or working for you?
Well, we find that the payroll was a hundredfold return.
Let's look at that in the Bible.
That's in Mark chapter 10.
Mark chapter 10.
So let's go to Mark chapter 10.
Okay.
Then Peter spoke up and said,
can't you see that we've left everything we had
to cling to you?
Listen to my words, Jesus said.
Anyone who leaves his home behind
and chooses me over children, parents, family,
and possessions, all for the sake of the gospel,
it will come back to him a hundred times
as much in his lifetime.
Homes, family, mothers, brothers, sisters,
children, possessions, along with persecutions.
And in the age to come, he will inherit eternal life.
Now that is payroll.
It's always a good day when you're on God's payroll.
Amen to that.
Right?
So he's telling them, Peter's saying,
well, what's our pay?
Well, you got all these benefits.
I pick up the tab on all the food.
I multiply it.
I pay your taxes.
I give you health and healing benefits.
You have life insurance because of your stupidity.
You could have got your head chopped off
by swinging the sword.
And I'm going to give you a hundredfold back of return
of material things.
They had to give up a lot.
I mean, they gave up everything that was returned to them
for eternal life, right?
Yeah, they gave up one fish to get back a hundredfold fishes.
Right, right.
So I think people don't understand
that when you're giving your life to the Lord,
there's a lot to give up.
And I say that, I don't even, let me rephrase that
because I don't even know if it's giving up something.
I think it's something that we need to understand
that it's not that you're giving up
because people say,
oh, I'm not going to get rid of my friends.
I'm not going to get rid of having a good time.
But I think that there's times that you have to understand
that are those really good times that you're giving up?
Well, that's the whole area of understanding
about the life that we have in Christ.
Meaning when we really look at it
from the perspective of reality,
we have to give up our sickness and disease.
We have to give up our depression.
We have to give up our fear and anxiety.
We have to give up all these things
that don't make our life work.
Right.
And people will say, well, yeah, I wanted to,
I had someone recently tell me,
I said, you know, he was in a wheelchair,
and I said, you know, God wants to heal you.
And he said, I believe that,
but I'm not ready to give up my wheelchair yet
because I'm getting too many benefits.
Yeah, and we talked about that.
Right.
So, you know, the whole area of reality, though,
is that when we're on God's payroll,
when we're working for Him,
the benefits are outrageous.
Now, here's something that was a shocker for me.
God told me one time, will you come and work for me?
I'm like, what?
I thought I started working for you back in 1977
when I got born again at 18.
I mean, I thought that I was working for you.
I thought I was serving you.
I thought I was, all the books I wrote,
the ministry, the churches, I thought I was working for you.
Well, how do you saying, will you come and work for me?
But when I did, I said, yes, Lord.
You know, I will come and work for you.
And now, this was serious.
This was a real Ramah experience.
And what he showed me was there is a vast difference.
I mean, it took me back to the episode on Seinfeld
when Kramer was there, and he was working at a job
that nobody knew that he had the job,
and he wasn't even supposed to be there
because he wasn't working there.
And Boz came in and says,
it's like you don't even work here.
He says, that's the whole thing, I don't, right?
So he was worried that he didn't even have a job.
That's how I felt.
I said, I thought I had a job all this time since 1977,
and I didn't even have a job?
What was I doing?
But he showed me, began to talk to me
that there is a difference between serving God
and working for God.
Now, that will blow the rug right off your head, right?
Okay.
That was such an eye-opener for me.
I said, now, Lord, you're gonna have to show me this
in the Bible because I'm not getting it here.
So let's go over to Acts chapter,
I think I gave it to you last night.
Acts chapter six.
Acts, yes.
That's the one.
Acts chapter six, three and four.
We want you to carefully select
from among yourselves seven godly men.
Make sure they are honorable,
full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom,
and we will give them the responsibility
of this crucial ministry of serving
that will enable us to give our full attention
to prayer and preaching the word of God.
Okay, so here we have the apostles saying,
find you out seven men that is going to take care
of the administration of the church.
Every believer is called to serve the Lord,
but not every believer is called to work for God.
So here's the distinction.
They said the seven men had to be full of faith,
they had to be full of God's spirit,
they had to be honorable men to take care
of the important tasks of the church administration.
While you do that, we're gonna go out and work for God
and give ourselves and be committed to prayer
and to the ministry of the word.
So there was that distinction there
between serving God and working for God.
Every believer is called and committed to serving God.
But then he goes back down now
and calls certain individuals to come and work for him.
That's found in the five-fold ministry,
Ephesians chapter four.
Let's go there, Ephesians chapter four.
I think it starts with the 11th verse.
And he was appointed some with grace to the apostles
and some with grace to the prophets
and some with grace to the evangelists
and some with grace to the pastors
and some with grace to the teachers.
Okay, now that's the five-fold ministry, right?
That's the area where you begin to work for God,
not just serve him.
Now, there's a whole different dimension there
that a lot of people get mixed up.
In fact, they hurt themselves
because they don't understand the distinction
between serving God and working for God.
And even when they understand
that they might be part of the five-fold ministry,
which is for the maturing and the perfecting
of the saints of the church,
they will get themselves in an area
where they can get in trouble
and devastate everything
because they're not understanding their office.
Now, I was guilty of that
because one of the things that I had prayed,
because I struggled in the wrong office,
that I had told God, I said,
God, please, please never allow any of our children
to enter into the ministry
because I do not want them to suffer like we've suffered.
I don't ever want them to go through this agony,
which he did, even though some of our kids are charismatic,
they're very intelligent,
they're entrepreneurial, mindset,
but they never entered into the ministry.
But now that I understand our correct office,
it now has flipped over.
Now I'm starting to see that calling
and that anointing go to our grandchildren.
I see it resting upon them now.
So it skipped that generation.
And the reason why it skipped that generation
was because I didn't understand the office
that you and I walk in,
which is the five-fold ministry of a teacher.
And when you operate in the correct office,
then ministry becomes so enjoyable,
so much fun, so easy,
and miracles take place every single day.
And no longer is it a burden or is it stressful.
You gotta feel good, right?
Right, exactly, exactly.
So the area of knowing where you're called to
and then functioning in the novice.
So when God says, will you come and work for me?
And I said, yes.
And I understood the office that you and I operate in.
It felt like Jesus bought my ministry,
like Jesus just bought my business, right?
And that's the sense that I got from the Holy Spirit.
It was like a freedom.
But how many years did it take you to understand that?
A long time, so let's not even go there
because that's a whole deep subject by itself.
But when I felt that, I even told the Lord,
I said, Lord, well, you bought my ministry,
you bought me out,
because we've sold business in the past.
And that's what I felt.
And I said, you bought my business, you bought my ministry,
but I thought, Lord, it was your ministry all along.
And he says, no, no, no, no, no, no.
He said, your ministry,
now, this is gonna cut you, this is gonna hurt.
Here we go.
He said, your ministry, like many ministries out there,
was not about me, it was about your ego.
You wanted to speak to the big crowds.
You wanted to write all the books.
You wanted to do all these things.
Wow.
Because you thought that it was for me,
when all the time, it was for you.
It was your ego.
That's why when you preached a good message
and everyone responded, you felt great, you felt fantastic.
But when you bombed out and your message was no good
and nobody responded, you felt bad,
you blamed it on the devil, you got discouraged.
Why?
Because you weren't up there for me,
you were there for you.
That's why they say, your ego is not your amigo.
Exactly, right?
But that was in Niobe, so he says,
I bought your ministry,
that was ego-based and not God-based.
I bought it from you, now you come and work for me.
When that happened, you wanna talk about
moving into an apostolic anointing
and moving into a prophetic anointing
and moving into dynamic faith
because no longer was I doing things
to represent me or you.
Now we are representing Jesus
because we're working for him.
He's not working for us.
Right, amen.
Right?
It's not about us anymore.
It's now about him.
What does he want?
What do you want us to do?
Not based on us, but upon you tell us, Lord,
how you wanna run this.
You're the senior partner.
You bought us out.
So it's a good day.
In fact, I wrote it on our board.
It's a good day when you're on God's payroll.
Amen to that.
Right, because we can go back to these benefits
and knowing that there is nothing to fear anymore,
there's nothing to worry about anymore
because we are not doing it on our own.
Mm-hmm.
Now here's another revelation
that he gave me throughout this time.
We have studied in the self-help personal development
for 20 plus years,
and we've worked with all the top thought leaders
and success leaders out there,
from Bob Proctor to Les Brown to Brian Tracy
to Jim Rohn to Dennis Waitley, Joe Vitale,
you name them, we worked with them.
They're all of our personal friends.
Absolutely.
And in the world of business,
it's still a strong atmosphere of competition.
And you have all these things to grow your business
with now funnels and AI and Facebook advertising
and all these social media platform advertising
to market their books, market their programs,
whatever they're selling or pushing
or bringing to the marketplace.
Right.
And when you look at all of that,
there are millions of dollars are spent
on these type of marketing strategies.
Mm-hmm.
But then the Lord showed me something.
And he said, that's the way of the world's system.
But I have a much better system.
So if you wanna promote the books that you wrote,
let me find one here.
He said, lay your hands on this book
and pray and intercede over this book.
And as you're praying in the spirit,
you are speaking the perfect prayer on it
because your mind's not involved, it's me.
So he said, with your books,
and this applies to every one of you
that have a ministry book or you have a ministry teaching
or anything that you're doing,
instead of using traditional business strategy,
use intercession marketing.
That's what he said.
Oh, I like that.
Intercessional, intercession marketing.
You pray in the spirit over your book.
And now let me take it from there.
And I will take the book to the nations
and to the world and to the people.
Amen.
That was the revelation.
Wow.
I said, Lord, I am so glad you hired me.
So when the Lord told me that,
I was so glad that I came to work for him,
that I accepted his offer.
Now, here's another thing too,
because we're getting down to,
I think about two or three minutes left.
The other thing that he revealed to me,
not only should we be doing intercessory prayer marketing,
but we should also understand
that when we work for him and we're on his prayer row,
he will make things happen.
That's why I love the apostle Leroy Thompson,
which is our covering.
We're part of his ministerial association.
He wrote a book called,
Never Go After Money and Money Will Come After You.
This is a book you absolutely need to read.
And the world is chasing money.
Marketing is all about chasing money.
But when we think about this,
every major financial windfall that we ever had,
had we ever exploded,
came about not because we were doing anything
to make that happen.
Now, we just say, and the metaphysical people can say,
well, yeah, that was the law of attraction.
It doesn't matter if you call it the law of attraction.
It doesn't matter what you want to call it.
The fact of the matter is, it's really,
and we'll close the show with this,
it's really Proverbs 10.22.
Can you get Proverbs 10.22?
I'll say what it says.
It says, the blessing of the Lord makes one rich
and he adds no sorrow with it.
Now, if you go back to the Hebrew word sorrow,
it means toil or hard toil or hard labor.
So what he's saying is,
the blessing of the Lord will make you rich
and he doesn't add any hard work or toil with it.
So people of the world will say,
yeah, that's the law of attraction.
No, it's called the blessing of the Lord.
So when God's blessing is upon you,
he's going to make you rich, but not by way of hard labor.
It's not by being in a business or a job
that you hate or struggle with.
So it's not about that.
It's about the blessing of the Lord.
So if you have ever came to that point
where you wondered about, does God have benefits?
The answer is yes.
And we want to encourage you, whatever you do, serve God.
And if he asks you,
and if he's called you into the five-fold ministry,
say yes, because his benefits are outstanding.
And I will say it again, your ego is not your amigo.
We'll see you next time.
