Recap of the 2025 State Convention
Hi, this is Chairman Paul Dame. I just
finished our bianial convention here uh
in Burlington. It was a full day packed
with trainings for our town and uh
county committee members. We also had an
opportunity for Republicans from around
the state to come together and listen to
our legislators, our House members, our
Senate members talk about the issues
that they're fighting for, that they're
working on in Mielar on our behalf. And
we we covered a lot of stuff. We we
talked about um housing. Uh we talked
about education reform and some of the
changes that are happening there. Uh we
spent some time looking at affordability
and uh and the concerns that people have
about energy prices. And then we closed
out with public safety. Uh uh law and
order, you know, crime is is a huge
issue in in other parts. These are all
issues that Vermont Republicans are
tackling headon, trying to to advance in
MPar while Democrats are completely
ignoring him.
>> The progressive agenda is what we need.
He's what we need. And it's just that
simple. Thank you.
We had phenomenal attendance,
record-breaking attendance. We had uh
tons of people showing up at the door.
We completely sold out lunch. There just
was no room anywhere to hear Lieutenant
Governor John Rogers. Even as we came
into the voting section, uh our delegate
section was packed. We had chairs. I
thought we had too many chairs. It was
totally filled. Uh the place was packed.
There was so much energy here. and you
had uh an opportunity to listen to the
heart of the Republican party, listening
to to people who have uh put blood,
sweat, and tears into the last election,
who are focused on on uh 2026 and making
sure that Vermont stays a place that our
families want to be for future
generations.
>> It starts with us connecting with people
in our communities and telling them what
we stand for. And it was a a great time
of of uh you know we had some
competition. We had some very close
races. Uh and in the end uh folks who
were on on opposite sides came together
and recognized that that kind of unity
is more important that that we've got to
put these things aside and and the
things that separate us are small and
they're and they're temporary and the
things that unite us are important and
significant and enduring. And I I hope
you get a chance to to look over some of
the the other material we have and uh
and start thinking uh now about coming
back in two years.
