Ep 3 of 3 at the Laguna Seca Race for the MotoAmerica 2020 season!
Have you guys ever sh** in your leathers?
Do you think people have?
Probably.
From being scared or like farting and then they sh**?
Have any of you guys ever tried to fart before a race in your suit?
If you did, what did you do?
I guess I would just, I don't know what I would do.
I would just...
Oh god.
That sucks so bad.
I'd just give it to Rick at Alpine Stars.
Like, hey, here's my suit.
Might need some cleaning.
Oh my god, my suit is cold.
It's so wet for slicks.
Too cold and too wet.
Just stayed out like two laps just to see if the sectoring was working.
Climbing grass right in front of me.
Oh, I have a camera.
What's your favorite part of the race weekend?
Going home to play COD.
Mine's digging into my freshen lean.
Would you rather ride when it's like 50 degrees or when it's like 95?
95 is like the perfect temperature here.
50 and 110?
Probably 50.
Probably better for the bike when it's hot out, right?
It gets to a certain point, like, anything over like 100 and something,
the tires start getting greasy, I feel like.
Oh, really?
Yeah, they're gonna be greasy and not know what they're gonna do.
Yeah, that's true.
Here we go. Time to go race in Hono Superbike.
Race number three.
He's gonna have some work to get by a few of these guys in front of him.
And you can see the group behind him.
Heron now giving Kennepa all the trouble he could have
as he comes up the front straightaway with Cam Peterson just behind them
as Zanetti will take that spot with Heron right behind him.
You see Kennepa now has gone up underneath Kyle Wyman
and Heron has just looked for a spot.
Looks like he's either gone back past or he's being hassled by Cam Peterson again.
We saw these two guys kind of locked into battle yesterday as well,
all the way to the checkered flag.
Cam Peterson on the stock 1000 spec Altus Motorsports.
GSX-R 1000 made by Suzuki.
Going after that very fast, shiby racing BMW
with a very fast rider on board, Josh Heron.
All right, so we just finished race two, or actually race three, I guess.
We had three races this weekend, so race three.
The change that we made with the bike to get the better feeling on the front didn't work.
I didn't really get much feeling from that.
The TC setting was better, but there was not enough TC now.
It felt like the first lap or two, it felt pretty good when there was good grip,
but as soon as the tire went off, like third lap,
I just, it was bouncing all over the place or sliding and gripping,
throwing me out of the seat and just wasn't able to hold on to her.
So it was a bummer. We were riding around in eighth place.
I was pushing hard. A lot of times we're getting better and better throughout the race.
It's weird, yesterday's race and today, both of the dry races,
a lot of times we're getting better in the middle of the race.
Started getting better rhythm as the tire would slide a little bit.
But with the TC being so low, I tried to adjust it, just like I did in the second race today.
Both races, when I tried to adjust the TC, the buttons weren't working,
so I couldn't adjust it. It was just kind of stuck where it was.
It's frustrating for sure, with about five laps to go, five or six laps to go,
the bike started sputtering really bad, like it was running out of fuel.
At about four to go, it was sputtering even worse,
so I started kind of sitting up and letting guys go by me,
because I didn't want to end up getting rear-ended by somebody on the track.
So I was kind of looking back and seeing what the gap was,
and if I had a big enough gap, I was going for it,
but if somebody was kind of getting nearby, I'd kind of pull off to the side,
let them go by and then go again, because it was cutting out like it was running out of fuel,
so I was really afraid someone would hit me.
We ended up crossing the line in like 13th, and then the bike turned off on a cool-off lap,
so I had to walk back.
Definitely not the way we wanted to end the season,
but at least Indy was just a week ago, and it was a really great weekend.
So it was kind of a bummer weekend, really.
Bummer to end the season like that.
The Harley race didn't go too well, but we had a ton of fun.
Got to do a pretty sweet burnout there at the end, and that put a big smile on my face.
Always happy to be able to ride a motorcycle.
I don't want you guys ever thinking that I'm not grateful.
I know this is a dream job, and everybody would love it,
but I'm competitive, and I want to be at the front,
so it's not as fun doing this as a lot of you may think sometimes.
I love riding motorcycles, but I have the most fun racing,
and I love being competitive at the front.
So if we can't be there, it's a bummer.
I come in, and I'm bummed out.
I don't want to be fake about it and tell you guys that it was great.
But we're healthy.
We only had one crash on the bike all year, so I think—
I guess we had two.
We had one in the wet at Barber, but it didn't do any damage.
We had one crash in New Jersey.
So small team.
I always put on the line, but we were lucky this year with crashes,
and we're able to, I think, save the team a lot of money compared to a lot of guys,
so I'm happy about that.
Just wish I could have been at the front a little bit more.
It's disappointing.
Like I said, super competitive, and I always want to be at the front.
That's why we're here.
So thanks to the whole Shibey BMW team, all the sponsors that made it possible.
Steve Shibey worked his butt off all year.
Can't take that away from him.
The whole crew worked really hard.
I'm glad that I was able to ride.
It may not have been the best bike that I could have been on this year,
but it was a bike, and we were able to have some good races on it and stay relevant.
The last thing I want to do is sit out because I can't be on a factory bike
or getting a big paycheck.
So I'll always be here, and I'll always be fighting as hard as I can,
always ride as hard as I can.
Thanks to everybody.
Thanks to all the sponsors.
Thanks to Fresh and Lean and 2 Illegal for making this week and last week's videos possible.
These guys have been really great sponsors to me.
Thank you to everybody for supporting them and going out and buying their products.
If you know somebody or you ever get in an accident on the street, make sure you hit up 2 Illegal.
And thanks to all you guys for making the channel awesome.
Subscribe. We're getting so many views, and subscribers are growing,
but we're getting five times the amount of views that we have subscribers.
So maybe we'll do some giveaways and have some fun and try and get that count up.
And we'll definitely have some fun videos coming out this winter.
Me and Nick are going to make some cool stuff and try and collaborate with some other brands
and some other athletes and have some fun.
So make sure you stick around, and yeah, see you later.
