this is the newly updated Samsung Medi 1
m50bt powered studio monitor just listen
to these specs real quick and tell me
how much do you think this thing cost no
cheating don't to go down in the
description section to check out that
link that I left to see the price just
make a honest guess down in the comment
section so here the specs it comes as a
stereo pair with two 5 and 1/4 in carbon
fiber woven woofers with that b of
rubbers around and we'll go get into
more on that later and why that is so
important
and two 3/4 in silk Dome tweeters and 80
W power output 40 WS per Channel you get
multiple ways to input on this device
you get an unbalanced RCA input as well
as a 3.5 mm TRS input Bluetooth
connection and an additional TRS 3.5 mm
audio jack Port out to a subwoofer just
in case you may need a little bit more
base however you may not need it since
this one already comes with a base boost
switch on board so I it gets the price
set because my current fave is the
airpulse 880 IRS audio active bookshelf
speaker system which cost about
$700 right now and they rarely ever go
on sale but it is an absolute buy trust
me if you buy it but enough with all of
that let's get inside this thing let's
check it out and see what it has to
offer we're going to top price as well
as audio performance and sound delivery
features and benefits as well as who
should buy this thing and why
Lego all
right that's what it looks like on the
inside immediately greed with uh getting
started guys got a power cable audio
jack
cable insert
there you go man these things are
actually bigger than I
actually
thought they're way bigger than I
thought this is the slave cuz it's much
lighter than the other
one okay so this is the master right
here and these are all the connections
on the park got the power pool how to to
the left speaker the subo for out stereo
in there you go I'm going to give you a
closeup but there you go what it looks
like and that is the carbon fiber wol
warer with that boil rubber surround
which should make things a little bit
better for actually longevity and
actually with that
actuation that rubber should mix it make
things a little a bit better for sound
delivery and that is the Samsung Media
One
slave all you can see all it has is an
input That's That Base Port so these are
definitely
ported and the good thing is it comes in
this plastic material that doesn't seem
to show a lot of fingerprints so what
we're going to do is we're going to hook
it up and test it out and um give you a
audio demo I mean even though over this
mic and YouTube audio demos is highly
unaccurate you're not going to get a
full listening of what this thing sound
like you're going to get a lot of my
room but it's a good idea you know to
just make you feel what what I'm feeling
so we're going to hook it up power it up
and test it out couple seconds for you
it's gonna be a minute for me because
I'm G do some listening I'm G listen to
some good music and then come back and
tell you what do thing sound like why
and why not you should buy a buy not
Leto so here's run down after putting
this thing through Paces the first thing
you have to realize it only adds 80 wat
power output but it can get surprisingly
loud almost as if it's pushing out way
more than 80 watts and the second thing
is they did an excellent job on this
system and I have to say Bravo to
Samsung for putting in the work on this
one and without getting ahead of myself
too much let's break down the audio
delivery of this system and see my likes
and dislikes and I this thing stack up
and where you stand if you're
considering to get this one for yourself
so I mean as I mentioned earlier in the
unboxing these pey cabinets really
caught me off guard I didn't realize
they were this big however if you do
have the space on your desk that
shouldn't be a problem because they do
have a really simple understated look
that makes and blend in with almost any
Decor plus when you got those big ass
drivers it can pump out a lot of Base so
I guess that's a tradeoff if you're
willing and UI is pretty simple you got
a volume rocker SL power button once you
flip it on it power it on and uh you can
rock the volume from there you got a
indicator status light and you got a
headphone jack power H port on the
opposite side and as far as the back you
got an RCA input a base boost switch
stereo input port a subwoof output and a
left speaker connection Port as well as
the power connection port and on
the uh slave speaker you only have one
input because obviously it's a slave and
that is sending all the power and signal
from the master to the slave and you got
a stereo pair all right so let's jump
right into the deep end of the pool and
start talking about this audio
performance then 50 BT has a really big
confidence sound the hards are really
bright and surprisingly clear and the
mid-range Clarity and Timber comes
through really well as well as the base
extension comes across very powerfully
and it actually slaps but you can get it
to it even harder if you flip that base
boost switch on the back for a nearfield
monitor this thing delivers incredible
performance at this price point and for
that precise reason I think this is a
really good system especially at such an
affordable price however this is
definitely not going to be replaced in
my airpulse 880 anytime soon even though
it can sound a lot louder at times with
certain tracks versus the a80s and one
of the main reason why it probably won't
pry me away from the 880s just yet and
that's because I don't think it has a
very detailed and articulate sound at
least not enough to where I believe it
can compare to the a80s more articulate
and more detailed and Rich sound profile
I mean don't get me wrong it sounds
really good incredible especially when
you're playing certain genres of music
but I mean versus the 880s when I crank
the volume up this can get really loud
it sounds really good but it also can
creep very close into Distortion level
if you're not careful and you crank the
volume too high and it is especially
noticeable when I'm playing songs like
otel California and then that opening
instrumental Arrangement when the band
is getting the vibe on before they start
things can get a little bit busy and
that instrumental so you have to crack
the volume down just a little bit for it
not to start cracking start showing that
it probably can't handle some of those
higher frequencies without cracking too
much so yeah
that's you know that's just in my
opinion but other than that once you
played at a reasonable volume and even
certain tracks I mean some tracks can be
played much higher without hearing that
but then a lot more detailed tracks and
I like to listen a lot of high quality
files I can hear it so maybe to the
untrain here you probably won't notice
it but my ha my here catch those things
and I also don't think that I would ever
use the base boost switch that comes on
this one and that's just because
whenever you whenever I switch it on
actually I can I can hear where things
starting get a little bit crowded and
it's crowding a lot of the mid and
higher frequencies and even those lower
uh mid-range I mean those higher
mid-range frequencies so for that reason
I would probably never use it with the
Boost base boost switch on however what
would be better for you to do if you
want that base is to get a subwoofer
connected to that subwoofer outport and
I think you would get a much richer
quality sound delivery then because then
that subwoofer can handle those much
lower frequencies and leave the woofers
right here for the mid frequencies and
the tweeters to handle those higher
frequencies and you should get a much
richer experience versus trying to push
some sublevel you know base out of those
uh mid mid drivers I I don't know I'm
just saying that's what I've observed
that's what I've noticed and I'm just
telling you like it is do with it what
you may also I have to let you know that
because I think this thing needs a
little bit more refined a little bit
more tweaking to own in a lot of those
frequencies that might escape the beaker
and might not be articulate enough I
don't think this is a ideal for somebody
who's doing a lot of mixing and
mastering of client work if that's what
you're trying to get it for if you're
doing some real client work and you
mixing and mastering tracks for clients
probably this is not the one but if
you're a DJ mixing or you're a gamer a
YouTube editing videos or just plain
casual listening to some bangers and you
want to feel the music and you want to
hear those great audio quality
this will definitely not disappoint I
highly recommend it for that cuz it
sounds absolutely good a few additional
gripes that I probably want to sound off
is inside the Box they don't give you
all the audio cables that you need to
connect this to something like your
laptop or I don't know whatever
equipment you want to connect it to and
I mean while that is understandable
since this is a Bluetooth speaker and if
you're using it with your laptop you
probably could connect via Bluetooth not
all Bluetooth uh devices and radios are
made the same so I would definitely want
a much higher quality audio output so
just in case you want that wire
connection you're going to have to
supply your own audio cables so you can
connect this one via the RCA or the
stereo out just in case you want the
much higher quality audio delivery so I
mean for me the bottom line is even
though doesn't offer enough as far as
audio detail and
resolution enough for to Pride me away
for my current fave which is the air
pulse
880 much more expensive system so it
definitely shows this is a much more
affordable system versus that one so
when you're playing them side by side
you could definitely tell the difference
so don't be too down on these for not
comparing to those cuz I mean you're
talking about $700 versus 150 bucks you
can't beat that it sounds almost as good
just not as detailed just not as
refined in that um audio experience but
it sounds good nonetheless but I mean
like I said for most people this will be
an absolute treat for them to listen
music with and I mean if you have 150
bucks you want to get some stuff kicked
off you want to start mixing as a DJ you
want to edit your YouTube videos or you
just want to play now bang some
tracks while you chilling this is
definitely a good one and I mean if
you're on the market I highly recommend
it I couldn't recommend it enough so I
mean that is it for the review if you
like this video and if you have
questions about this one and if you want
to see you compare it to something else
definitely leave those comments down in
the comment section ask away let me know
what's on your mind what you think or if
you have one of these and you have a
different opinion than mine drop that
comment down in the comment section
