I finally made it to Montreal in Canada.
Found a very handsome man here on the
street.
>> My boyfriend showed me around where he
grew up and he told me there's one thing
that is almost on every menu here.
>> Yeah. So, there's a lot of patines in
Montreal.
>> Even McDonald's has poutines. Something
that I didn't expect was the European
influence in Montreal. Signs here are in
French. It literally looks like a church
here in Paris. Special one with this one
is that there's a restaurant in the
church, which is so weird to me. I
thought it's a it looked like a strip
club to be honest.
>> I'm on a mission to accomplish a few
things on my list. So, let's see what
Montjal has to offer. It's a mission.
It is freezing cold. It has 5° C and I
need something warm. A good day always
starts with good coffee for me. So, I'm
going to head to Mel, which is a coffee
shop here in the neighborhood where I'm
staying at. And oh my can't wait to have
something warm.
So good.
>> Okay. I feel like it's been a while
since I walked around something like
this where the trees are changing
colors. Autumn. I haven't experienced it
in such a long time. I'm an island girl.
I live in the tropics. It's hot. We have
palm trees. I'm wearing a coat. It's
cold. And it's like
it's refreshing to have a change. And
it's really beautiful when you know the
trees change the colors. It is really
something else. Makes the city look very
very beautiful.
Oh my god. It's like a squirrel heaven
here. One, two, three squirrels.
>> Daddy, want to be friends? Hi.
Hello.
>> Yeah, the squirrels here are definitely
not shy. So close.
And something that I like about Montreal
is the mix of old European style
buildings like you see it here with the
skyscrapers in the background. It's
really something else. It's something
that uh I don't see that much in in
other cities. Looks pretty nice. Another
old building. Skyscrapers everywhere.
found a very handsome man here on the
street
where
we definitely need to burn off some
calories. So, we're currently walking
down St. Lauren. Sonora, how do you say
it?
>> Solora street right here. Very hip
neighborhood. A lot of cool restaurants,
coffee shops, and so on. I've been told
that some of these spots are actually
pretty empty and they are closed shops.
So, it's very unfortunate to see, you
know, such a cool neighborhood being uh
half empty because I think uh it has a
lot of potential here.
>> They also have a lot of artwork here on
the walls.
>> Let's cross the road. There's a big one
on this side. Very artsy. Where are all
these cars coming from? Like every time
we have to cross the road. Yeah. Smurfs
on something. Lots of artwork here.
There's a little seating area as well.
Kind of like like a vibe with the autumn
vibes. And this area actually reminds me
of Williamsburg in New York. Same vibe.
Literally looks the same.
So, we are staying here at the Marriott.
It is such a nice location. The view is
fantastic. Everything is nearby. So, um
yeah, really can't get tired of this
view. Also, I came back to a few
packages. So, I'm going to unbox these
with you guys because I figured I don't
have the right shoes for like this cold
weather. So, I got some stuff uh sent by
Viva. Look at this. Got some really,
really nice boots here. And I also got
these leg warmers for it.
So, you basically just get these as an
extra and add it to your boots. And
voila.
Look. Oh, they're so pretty.
So, so nice. And last but not least, I
have some really, really nice high heel
boots. This fits my coat so perfectly.
The color is kind of like a brown but
like brown boondi. Oh my god, I can't
wait to style this. So, I'm going to try
a few styles, show you how I'm going to
style for Montreal, and uh you can rate
it from like 1 to five. What is your
favorite? We're starting off with the
Tyler boots, and I'm styling them with
the leg warmers. They're waterproof and
will keep me warm. I'm going for a
comfy, casual look, and I'm just adding
a few simple pieces so that the boots
stand out. If there's a perfect sneaker,
then this is it. The Allegro sneakers
are timeless, comfortable, and goes so
well with a sporty or casual look. I
love them so much and I was even
considering getting them in different
colors because how nice they look. And
last but not least, the knee high gia
boots. I'm obsessed with this color and
I got showered with compliments when I
was wearing them. I absolutely fell in
love with the shoes and I'm pretty sure
you would love them too. Black Friday is
coming up and in case you set your eyes
on some Viva shoes, you can use my
discount code BF Nelly to get massive
discounts during the Black Friday sales.
All details are linked in the
description box down below. All righty.
I stepped out of the hotel and I got
myself a cup of coffee at oo milk as you
can see. Really, really good coffee. I'm
so obsessed with the shoes. The quality
is just insane and the comfort. I I
can't even like I can't comprehend how
comfortable the shoes are. And I walk a
lot when I'm traveling. So, oh my god,
I'm so excited. I tried on the boots and
they looked so so cute. I also got my
bag to combine it with this outfit. Got
some cool sunnies to have a little bit
of a different color because everything
is uh in the same tone. But yeah, this
is the outfit. Looking super cute. They
are so comfortable. It's incredible.
Super soft inside. What do we think?
We made it down to the shopping street,
St. Catherine. We're going to walk this
way. Something that I wanted to show you
is the signs here are in French. In case
you don't know, Quebec is French
speakaking. So, all of the signs, the
language, like the greetings are all in
French here. Oh, crazy buildings here in
Montreal. Look at that little bridge
over there.
>> So, there's a lot of poutines in
Montreal, right? Montreal is like
everywhere.
>> There's not a place actually that's
interp. So, we can, if you want, we can
count how many poutine places.
>> How many? Okay. Okay. Over here.
>> Here we have one hot dog poutine,
>> right?
>> Hold on. This is it. One.
>> I mean, yeah, this one probably has.
>> Oh, yeah.
>> Uh,
>> it's an Italian place.
>> Yeah, but it has poutine.
>> It has poutine.
>> Yeah, it has poutine. That's next door.
Okay, let's go to the next one.
>> Okay, two.
>> Does it have poutine?
>> For sure. I can tell you. They have show
for sure.
>> Just one more poutine.
>> There are some really random shops here.
Okay, this is probably just a souvenir
shop. Yeah, you can definitely see the
French influence from the church here.
It literally looks like a church in
Paris. Special one with this one is that
there's a restaurant in the church,
which is so weird to me. I thought it's
a it looked like a strip club to be
honest. When we wal past, there was a
red light saying it has cabaret and
whatnot. So, I'm like, that's so weird.
But like it's it's a restaurant. But
yeah. Yeah. Look how pretty this church
is.
>> Yeah. So, this is the restaurant. It
says Cabaret. on the hunt for the
poutine spots. And something that my
boyfriend said is that even McDonald's
has poutine. I haven't seen McDonald's
here, but uh we are right here in front
of Burger King. There's a poutine here
at Burger King as well.
>> It's just so funny with Canadians. I'm
just so shy in front of the camera. Like
I didn't even intended to film this guy,
but
>> it's not the Philippines.
Super super love the contrast of the old
with the new in the background. So nice.
>> Oh yeah.
>> Yeah. Okay. We spotted a McDonald's.
Is there poutine at McDonald's? I can
see a poutine here. There you go.
>> I've just spotted that there's a timeout
market here in Montreal. And timeout
stands for great food spot. So, if you
are traveling and you want to see which
food spots are trending in certain
destinations, definitely to check out
their website. Um, I've been to the
Timeout Market in Dubai, in Miami. The
food stalls that they have here are
usually very on spot, very new, really
great uh creative foods. Let's see what
they have. American barbecue, fish and
chips. This is looking great. This Asian
food with baam, Caribbean food, Indian
food, even some Vietnamese. Ooh,
this. So, I was told there is some
really good Portuguese chicken here in
Montreal. So, definitely on my list.
We'll try to squeeze it in tomorrow. We
also have their pastel dinata. There's
one spot here.
>> Oh, yeah. Oh, it's in the back. And they
have poutine, of course. Here are some
oysters. They have six oysters for $16.
We decided to go for a glass of wine. So
I decided to go with the Austrian wine
gut creme which is from the cremest.
It's a grunina. You know I'm from
Austria. I love Austrian wine. So it had
to be a grunina. Yes. Very
>> choice.
>> Yum.
Very good. Good choice. Thank you.
You're welcome.
>> Okay. The wine was fantastic. Right.
Really good. really.
>> Um, something that I wanted to show you
is this. Oh my god, I want to play so
badly. Recently, we went to an arcade in
Florida and I had so much fun playing
Mario Kart and something that my dad
used to play these things on my PC. It
was like destroying the the keyboard.
But yeah, um, we're just uh spend a lot
of time playing this game. I'm more the
Mario Kart girl. I'm even considering
buying the little uh thing for, you
know, travel. I think there's like a
small thing for Mario Kart. Is it a
Nintendo? I I don't know what it is.
Nintendo. I'll get that probably just
for fun. Okay, we didn't eat anything
here because we're still full from just
eating like the Montreal classics smoked
meats. My boyfriend just said exchange
rate is really great. So, you get really
great food, restaurant food for cheap.
And I just saw there's a coffee shop
here as well. Looks promising with a
lamazoko. Got grinders. I'm a coffee
snob. I know my coffee, but I stay true
to the one that I went to. It's just the
best. I just uh love it so much.
