vlogmas: Christmas tree shopping & decorating

Hi guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. I hope you are all doing well. Now, today is a very exciting day. Today is Christmas tree day. Today is the day that this apartment, well actually tomorrow will be when I put it up. This apartment is gonna go from Scrooge to Mrs. Claus. It's happening. It's happening! We're gonna go get my tree from Leeds. And also I decided, as I said, that I want to do a red tree this year. I wanna do it red. I want to have it like original, classic, red, red, red, red, red, red. The girls last night was like, why don't you just have your kitchen there wrapped for Christmas? Red. I'm just gonna keep my tree in Leeds because I can't store a tree in this apartment. So I'm gonna go home and pick it up, but also rounded up my elves, Christmas tree decorators, Christmas tree shoppers. We always do this together, my grandma and granddad. Whenever I've ever got a tree in the past, they always come shopping with me and we get it all together. So I rang them last night. I was like, any chance you and granddad are free tomorrow, let's go Christmas tree shopping and turn the show red. So my grandma was like, absolutely. So yeah, went out last night, had a few too many drinks. Was feeling a bit ropey when I woke up. However, I'm back now. Where is my phone? It's here. Kept feeling it buzz. Was feeling a bit ropey, but there's nothing like this day for me. So I've gotten ready and I feel fine, fresh as a daisy. Might just get a little KFC on the way home. It's my go-to hangover cure. And then we're gonna go shopping. I want to also get a garland this year for where my telly is. Obviously I need to go all red. Sorry about the dishwasher, I've just put it on because I know I'll forget if I don't. Tree, red. Garland, red. I want to order a red diptych candle to replace my pink diptych candle on my coffee table. What else did I say I wanted? I remember the Primark haul the other week when I went to Primark haul and there was that little basket that had a red bow on. I'm gonna get that. I just need to get a few little decorations and I want this to be a Santa's grotto by Saturday. So I'll put it up tomorrow, but today, this is the day, we're gonna go buy everything. And I can't ******* wait. I'm so excited. And obviously I'm so excited to see my grandma and granddad. So they keep ringing me like, where are you, where are you, where are you? I'm like, I'm coming, I'm coming. So yeah, let's go drive home to Leeds. Also this year, I'm having to put my Christmas tree in the corner, which I'm not gonna show you right now because it's got two areas of washing. Doesn't look very nice. But I've got a big chair there. I don't know if you would know, but in the corner of my lounge, I have a big chair. Now I was like, where the hell am I gonna put this chair? Like, I just have nowhere to put it. So we was like trying it over there and it just was a bit claustrophobic. And I was like, no, I don't like it. It's making me feel uncomfortable, which is why I actually haven't put my tree up just yet because I didn't know what I was gonna do with this ******* chair. Then the girls was like, put it in your spare bathroom. And I was like, I can't have an armchair in the bathroom. So my dad was like, put it in your car, bring it home and keep it here until after Christmas. So last night, me and the girls, I was like, it's not gonna fit. It fit by literally like millimeter. So we put all my seats down and put the chair in the back of my boot. So I've got an armchair in the back of my boot that I'm taking home today. I'll show you that when we get downstairs. But yeah, let's go and get this Christmas tree shopping show, turning this apartment red on the road. This is the situation we've got going on right now. This is how I'm gonna drive back to Leeds. Hopefully I can still see out and also taking my brother's advent calendar home for him. Hi-ya, hi-ya, my Ralphie doodle. Hi-ya, my Ralphie doodle. We've come to Tong Garden Center and they have like the best decorations. Grandma seen these as soon as we got in. They could look cute on our burgundy theme, couldn't they? I think I want to do velvet and obviously they look velvety, don't they? I don't want too many, but I think that a few of them could be nice. Yeah, we know they're there, we can come back for them. Literally just Christmas, Christmas, Christmas. I like this actually, but I don't know where I'd put it. Maybe on my balcony or a little reindeer for my balcony. That could be cute, couldn't it? It is, and they're only £2.99 each. Big them, they're nice, aren't they? Just a little bag, YouTube. Seen these ones, but we're not sure on these just yet, but I think they could be nice to have something different in. We've literally only been here two seconds. We've already found all these little apples. I said you and Grandad are my perfect people to come shopping with for Christmas tree stuff, Grandma. That's nice, isn't it? Might get that to put on my door. Oh, that's more like me. My Grandma said I definitely need to get this, it's very me. Look, they've got like little brooms that they decorate all differently. We need some berries. They'd be the perfect berries, then, Grandma. We need to find them. Grandma's just fit for taking things off the trees, the displays, so we'll just take them. Okay, here she goes. I think we're gonna have to make our own balls, to be honest. We're trying to find some berries, and then, obviously, I need to get the garland, as well. So we've got quite a lot to be shopping for, to be honest. They're a bit skinny, them, aren't they? I think they're just a bit rubbish, them, aren't they? I don't need a garland if there isn't one. Unless you're doubling it up. Yeah. Like, in front of my telly, on my sideboard. I'm gonna leave the garland. I think it just looks a bit ----, and it's just more work for me to do, really, isn't it? So, we're gonna leave the garland. Well, these are quite cute. These are quite cute. They light up. We'll get two of them. Are they tight? I think they look quite nice. Let me ask the besties. I have quite a lot of these on my tree, the little glass ones. I just think they're so cute. I might get some little angels. Maybe just add a few more to it, because they'll be nice and see-through, and I love the little angels. For protection on my Christmas tree. Hello, everyone. It is a few days later for when I went shopping by Grandma and Grandad to get the Christmas tree bits. I've not had a chance to put up the tree yet, and I want this to be like a tree vlog. So, yeah, and to be fair, yesterday I was absolutely crippled in bed with stomach cramps. I thought I was having like an appendicitis, and I'm good with pain. Like, I'm really good with pain. And I was like, I feel like the pain's like a seven, eight scale. Like, my mum was like, do you want me to come and take you to the hospital? Then I was like, no, let's leave it a day, and then see how I feel, and today I woke up fine. So, I don't know what that was. But today's the day, hopefully tonight, I'm going to put my tree up. However, I am going to meet my brother and his girlfriend, Lauren, because they have got, long story, but my secret Santa present, and I need to have it by Tuesday. So, I'm gonna go pick that up. Obviously, I won't show you that part because the girls watch my vlogs, and it's obviously a secret Santa. But Lauren was like, why don't we go to Holly's Farm Shop, which is next to where they are, and have a little look around. So, we're gonna do that. Kate's coming, she's just at the minute in the shop getting us a coffee for the drive, because it's like an hour away from where I am. And yeah, we're gonna have a gorgeous, wholesome day with family, friends, laughter. And don't let it take too long. Me and Kate. Oh, hello. Hello, darling. Hello, darlings. We have got a new, obviously, I'm guessing everyone's been watching I'm a Celebrity. We are obsessed with Tom. Sir Tom. We need to get Sir. Sir. Sir Tom. And we wish that we spoke like this, thank you for that, by the way. So, we haven't stopped speaking like it all the time, and I feel like our vocabulary is wider now. Gosh. It just, yes, it just makes you feel like you're happy and you're... Skippity-hop-hopping. Skippity-hop and you are just above the world, and honestly, I think that everyone should try this because it just makes you feel a better version of yourself, doesn't it, darling? Oh, absolutely, darling. And yes, we just love speaking like this because it just really brings us so much... Positive light to our lives. And we was Googling, searching, researching. Searching, Googling? We were searching up words, some more words. Is that just me, darling? Oh, yes, darling. We were searching up more words. That won't fall, will it? No, I will only do it for the next 10 seconds. Anyway, we were searching up more words. Some alternative words. Yeah, and there's things like superb. Ravishing. Ravishing, splendid. This land of the United Kingdom. This glorious place that we live is... And it doesn't matter that it's pitter-pattering rain today. And it is drizzling today. It's pitter-patter, but that is fine, darling, because you know what? Not a day is miserable. With us. There's no day like today. It's the super kind of friend you're listening to. It's the allendocious. We've made it to Holly's Farm shop. We've picked up Lauren, seen the lodge. And I didn't know this was the one that everyone comes to, but apparently they sell like Christmas decorations and things in here. So I'm going to get some bits for the tree later if there's anything. The coffee shop's open. Oh, the coffee shop is open today. Doesn't look too busy, actually. No, it doesn't. This is so cute. It's like a little village. Wow. A little cow. It's so nice. A proper Christmas miracle. Wow. There is so many burgundy bits. I've got these the other day. I got them exact ones. They're quite nice as well, aren't they? God, there's so much. I literally was like, this year I don't want many baubles and I'm going to end up with loads. These are nice as well, aren't they? Maybe. I need, what I was just said to the girls is, I needed berries for the tree, but I couldn't find any burgundy ones. This is perfect for what I want. So I can get some of these. We're dismantling the tree to get these little bits. We've dismantled the tree. The guys put them behind there. We're going to get a box of these that he's already put behind. Cause I was going to do minimalist one, but now I think let's just go the full shebang. So I've got some of these and then maybe we should get like, oh, this is nice, Katie. The corner of my house. I just want to go full burgundy now and just really do the whole thing. They've got some like gorgeous baubles over here. What about paper ones though? No, they're a bit tight then. Yeah. Do you like them ones or? I've got some quite similar to that actually. Yeah, that is nice. Yeah, they're nice. Do you think? Should I get like, yeah, maybe if I get like six of them and then I think I've got enough baubles cause I was going to do a minimalist tree you see, but now I think nope. Burgundy. Red. I need to paint my walls red. Red blankets, red flowers, red tree. I will dress in burgundy. You can't enter this house unless you wear burgundy. And it got the red one. Yes. I've just seen this and Lauren said that you put this inside a candle. You put a candle in the middle. Oh God. Maybe up through. I think that's a bit of a tall candle. Do you like that or not? I don't know if you'll go off it. Do you think? Yeah. I think I'm forcing it. I do want something for my table though. So I was going to do a garland, but you know they didn't have a garland in the shopping centre the other day, my grandma and granddad. They were just like little ---- ones. Honestly. That's nice. No? To put like, you wrote candle on top of that. That would be a big candle, wouldn't it? Do you use things that smells nice? Wax melts or something? Or, what I did actually want was some candle harbours, wasn't it? God. Shake your booty. I wanted like two, yeah, they are nice. Oh, there's three of them all different sizes. That's what I wanted for my side table. I've had to move it with some burgundy candles and I could wrap the balls around here. I've seen someone do that. What do we think to that? I think they'd be nice. That's gonna be so Christmas five. I know. Oh, I'm in love. Look how insane this dog looks. Look how incredible that is. Hey, yay. No, she looks insane. She's in a competition last week. Little winter wonderland in here. We just spotted that dog and I was like, oh my God, please can I take a picture? Like, that's insane. Apparently she's in a competition last week. She didn't win. I said, I hope she won. She didn't. Gorgeous. Oh, wow. Burgundy everywhere. Lauren, there's so much stuff I can buy. This is so cute. Oh, be good. Oh. Okay. I'll get these two. Lauren said, marry you up. Lauren said, marry you up, every salesman's dream. I am. I just love Christmas. Oh, burgundy blankets. I don't think I need them, really do I, mum? I would love them. Where do you hang things like that, though? That's gorgeous. My mum would absolutely love it in here. That's a nice bowl, isn't it? There's literally everything you could ever dream of. My grandma would have a field day in here as well. These are like what I got the other day. And I like collect these every year for the tree. But they've got some ones in here that I've never seen. And because I'm going ball themed this year, how cute are they? The only thing is they're silver and I've got gold. Do you think that wouldn't match? Let's just spread them out. What do you think? I've got gold, not silver. We should put them next to the gold ones. I've got little Santa Claus's. A little snowman, sorry. That's cute, isn't it? I've got all these ones. Oh, that's a nice angel. I've got that. Do you remember I dropped it here that year? Oh, I should get some of these. Because they look with a sparkle, nice. Because you've chose that one, I'm going to get that one. It'll remind me of you. I've got to get at least two of each though, because I'm really funny about things like that. I don't like odd things. So I'll get a little snow, another snowman. God, this feels risky. But then because it's three for 15, I might as well get, might as well get six. What else haven't I seen before? Have you had these on before? No, I haven't actually, Kate. They're really nice. Oh, a good egg. These are so cute. Oh, I love you very much. Oh. We've had an absolutely gorgeous afternoon. Fantabulous. Fantabulous afternoon with my gorgeous sister-in-law. Well, she's not technically yet, but she is. She basically is. She is, she's basically. And I've tagged along. We've had a gorgeous day. So, we've just dropped Lauren back off. We've got some, you've never tried a mince pie before, have you? Mince? No, not mince. Oh, gosh. A pork pie. Pork pie. It's quite proper from the north, isn't it? Ooh. Kate's never tried a pork pie before. I can't wait to eat that. Oh, God. It's very good sausage, though. Mm. Oh. Good God, we've got some water. Oh. So dry. Yeah. Mm. I'm gonna head home. Kate's going out tonight. And then we're gonna put the Christmas tree up, finally. I won't be there for the big reveal. Katie, don't worry, I will send you pictures. Very wholesome. Very wholesome, very Christmassy. Mm-hmm. And now I have to put the Christmas tree up. We're back from shopping, and the girls' day, Kate is going out tonight. So, I've dropped her off. She is going out. I am not going, because I am going to put this tree up. I hate doing the tree with the lights. Like, that's the worst part. I don't know why I didn't buy a pre-lit Christmas tree when I bought it two years ago. I have been trying to put it off for the last hour, but I'm like, do you know what? I'm gonna put a Christmas film on. I am going to get on with it. I don't think it's as bad as what I'm imagining in my mind. Like, probably take me an hour, I'd say, to put the lights on the tree, and, like, pull all the branches out. But then when that's done, we can decorate, which is so fun. And I need to make some bows. Let me show you this bow I've made. So, I bought the candle holders just then. I bought three of them. And I'm obviously gonna get, like, a long white candle out for the table, because I've had to, basically, where are my trees going this year? Did I say this? Oh, yeah, I did. I've told you I'm taking the chair home. I've moved the little table that's over there next to my TV. So, I thought these would look cute. But how nice is that bow? I made that bow. I think that's really good. I watched a TikTok video. So, I need to make some bows for the tree, but Kate and my mum and everyone was like, Mary, just put the tree up first with the lights on, and then do everything like that, because that's the part I'm putting off. I'm really proud of that. I think that looks like I bought it. I'm quite proud of that. And obviously, what I've just realized is this year, my tree's going in a corner, which means I don't really need to do the back, which is perfect, really, because I don't have to do, normally, it's in the window, so I have to do everything. Obviously, I'm gonna have to put the lights on, but I don't think I'm gonna have to do the back of the tree, which is great. So, yeah, I am gonna put them up now. Look at what else I bought. My mum loves, like, little pot things for Christmas, so I bought me, my mum, and my grandma one each. How cute is that? I think I have got quite a lot of decorations like this. I think I'll put this here, maybe, with my empty bars. I need to get some Christmas flowers for there and the middle of the table. That can be, like, tomorrow's job, maybe. But I loved Holly's. It was so fun. I've never actually been before, but Sam and Lauren have a lodge just near there, so I went to see them. I've actually never been to the lodge, either, so I was like, oh, let me see this, and it was gorgeous, and Lauren was like, let's go to Holly's, and I had a great time. So, yeah, I'm just procrastinating. I'm going to put the tree up. I'm not gonna film putting the lights on, because you know, if anyone remembers that video that time, I absolutely nearly vaulted the Christmas tree out my window over the balcony, so I'm not gonna video that. I'll just video when we're decorating it, because I feel like I'm gonna be very stressed when I come back on this camera in an hour's time. But, yeah, I'm gonna whack on Harry Potter. There's not much home alone, but I think Harry Potter's good for background noise. I've just had a coffee at six o'clock, which is not like me, but that's destined for, we're getting this show in the road tonight. So, I'll see you in an hour, when I'm probably ready to pull my hair out and scream, cry, throw up, but then it's the fun part. Righty-ho, the lights are on. That is the worst job, and you get like little prickle marks on your fingers. Ooh, the lounge is nice behind us. Lights are on. How insane. There does look like some dark spots on here, but obviously we're going to fill up the tree. But it's different having it in this corner, do you not think? I mean, if anyone remembers, they used to have it like here, but we've got it in the corner. So now it is time to decorate. All my decorations are here. We've got the glass up here. This box is just full of like, there's all little wooden things. There is, this is like what we're seeing today. Best way to spread Christmas cheer is sing loud enough for all to hear. I've got that like on my door handle. So I've got, yeah, loads of little goodies in here that I found, but we can do that after. Right, now we can pop it on here. Merry's Christmas. Right, so I think we should start with these. I've got 10 of these. So, it is lovely, darling. Don't know how bad I should spread these out. I think this one needs to be tipped up a little. This is bloody lovely. And now I need to like put my big baubles on. I've got these velvet ones, but I could actually start with these ones. But these ones here don't have, I don't know how high I'm going to be, don't have string on them. So I bought some things today. This one here. Kind of like little hooks. We'll see how that goes. We're going to put some of these on with some scissors. I love doing it in a Christmas tree. Now it's his part, it's fun. I hate light parts. These like Aladdin-y type balls. Got to remember to every single bauble has to hang. Right, guys. I didn't film me putting the tree up, just because I feel like it would have been a lot of clipping and it would have been boring for you to watch me place and things and discussing to myself. Does that go there? But my tree is up and dare I say, this could be my favorite one yet. The only thing is I thought I had a star for the top of my tree, which I don't have. So there's nothing at the top, which really is going to bug me. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to drive back. I don't know if I'm going to drive back tomorrow to Holly's Farm Shop or whether I should just get Lauren and Sam to go for me. Cause I'm seeing them on Tuesday, but I just think it's going to be great on me until it's finished. But it is only Sunday today, so I would only have to wait two days. The berries that I got today, I'm going to get like a cluster of them and put them in the top. So there's just like a cluster of berries coming out the top of the tree, cause there isn't anything on the top of the tree. But I love it. I actually love it. I'm Christmas-ified, I'm backed up, I'm clean. The boxes are in my bathroom, ready to go back with my brother. Everything is tied in here. So let's see. First up, we've got Santa stops here for wine tasting. We need to get flowers for him tomorrow. Got a cute little house and my grandma and granddad's card. This is the tree. I'm going to have to switch the lights on. How insane does that look? Like how insane? I'm actually obsessed, but can you see what I mean about like we need, oh, hi guys. We need the berries coming out of the top of the tree. But this is honestly like my favorite tree I've ever done. Also, can I just say that these bars I made myself, all the bars I made myself. I'm so, I'm literally so proud of them. I think it has just come together. Incredible. Hasn't it? And I love it being in the corner. I think that that's gorgeous. Like the vibes in here right now. Christmas tree, sparkling, gorgeous. Into the coziest little corner ever. Got my little gnomes back out. My little mushroom is here. I actually got this candle. You can't see it cause it's so dark. Let me shine my torch. Here, I used to have a pink diptych candle. I think Mitch got it for my birthday actually. And I seen Ari with this one. It's like dark brownie burgundy color. So I ordered that two days ago so that that would match the burgundy theme. How cute is that? I actually think I prefer that to the pink one anyway. It's keep like rebuying that one. And then I've got the candle that Mars gave me at the dinner last week of my little mushroom. This table is just so cute and Christmassy. And then in this corner over here is my new candlesticks. I do want to put balls on them like this. However, the ball isn't, it's fixed on with a bobble right now. Sorry, I'm shining my torch. It's fixed on with a bobble right now. I think I need to get like pipe cleaners. Do you remember them in school? To attach. But obviously I'll do on all three with I'll get the candlesticks tomorrow. Like some cream candlesticks so that they match my cream angel hair. And then yeah, just got some little Christmas tree candles. My favorite thing on Netflix. And my little Norm's hair as well. Chillin'. Once the tree is, I mean, I do love it already. Like it looks insane already, but I do need the topper. I do definitely need the topper. I thought I need a star, but I don't. So I don't know about that. So yeah, I'm gonna maybe go in the morning. If not, I will get Sam and Lauren to go for me and bring it. I should just wait for them to come and bring me it on Tuesday. Like that would make so much more sense. But I just know that things like that great on me. Like I can't sleep until it's done. Like I said, tonight, had the farm shop have been open right now, like 10 o'clock at night, that's what time it is now, it's 12 o'clock now. But when I finished it was 10 o'clock, I would have driven then. Cause like that irritates when things aren't finished. But I hope you like my Christmas tree. I love it. It's so much better than last year. I love the red. I feel like traditional burgundy is back in and I just love it. So yeah, guys, I'm gonna put that, well, I'm placing this way. I should have my tree in the background. These candles are everywhere. I'm scared my hair's gonna go on fire. Me and my burgundy tree. I'm just obsessed with it. But guys, I am going to bring this vlog to a close. You'll have to wait to the next video to see the finished result of the Christmas tree. Just because if I don't actually go in the morning, I want to get this vlog out tomorrow for you all to see. Cause I am actually a day late, but it was because of the stomach cramps this weekend that I just was a write-off. But I hope you all love my Christmas tree as much as I love it.
