For the last two years, I've been collecting the rarest and coolest bowling balls in the world.
But at the top of the list, there is one.
The Brunswick Quantum Raven.
Released in 1995, this ball was hard to come across when it was on the market.
And now, 30 years later, it's even harder to find.
This ball is actually ranked number one most expensive bowling ball in the world
on a website called rarest.org.
So hard to find, in fact, that it's worth an estimated $12,000.
Now, I don't know if anybody would actually pay that price.
I certainly wouldn't, but one of my friends actually sent me one of theirs for a video.
Introducing the $12,000 Brunswick Quantum Raven.
All right, we got the $12,000 Quantum Raven.
So this ball actually almost fits my hand for once.
The span's about half an inch too long.
The tumble's about five sizes too big.
But I'm going to try to throw it one-handed for you guys.
So let's see what makes this ball so valuable.
All right, we're one for one with the Quantum Raven,
but I definitely need some tape in this ball,
because literally, it's like a hot dog in a hallway, if you know what I mean.
All right, so we put in six pieces of tape,
and it's still a little bit too big, but it's closer.
So let's see.
Let's go, we're two for two with a $12,000 bowling ball.
Oh, I fouled.
I missed anyway.
I want to try one shot, slow wheeling the entire lane and see how it reacts.
Not very well.
All right, so we've thrown a few shots with this ball.
We have a good idea of what it's doing.
It doesn't hunt very much.
So we're going to bowl one quick game and see what we shoot.
For that, and for us to warm up real quick,
we're going to bowl a one-v-one match with the $12,000 bowling ball.
I would just like to specify, I don't have any of my gear.
Why?
Because it's funnier for me.
And Forrest forgot all of his equipment, so he's wearing house shoes right now.
House shoes.
Those are the funniest looking house shoes ever.
The right one's like ice.
You're like sliding on your toes.
Of course I strike though.
Are you ready, Forrest?
We're going down in slipper house shoes.
Let's see it.
You may start the match.
I actually look like kung fu shoes.
You may start the match.
Okay, you guys will notice I'm like slipping as I'm walking,
but you know, we got to make do.
We got to beat 220 still.
Oh, that was nasty.
These are scary.
You threw that so good though.
Picture going to an ice rink and trying to bowl.
Let's see what it's like.
I'm like, oh, I feel like do some cool dance moves in these.
Right, guys?
All right, early opening for me.
I'm about to take full advantage of you.
Cut.
Why'd that hook so much?
It started hooking at like 10 feet.
I know.
It's got 8,000 games on it too.
It's reacting like an old urethane ball.
Just super early and then not much overall.
It's got to be the shiniest ball I've ever seen.
What?
Yes!
Oh my gosh.
I think it's wheelie free.
Oh, you're so hard to bowl and hook.
Yes.
You see my like four sniffles like...
Yep.
So hard to bowl in these.
We should do a video of bowling on an ice rink.
That sounds terrifying.
That's basically what I'm doing.
Could you imagine that?
Bowling in an ice rink?
That'd be sick.
In ice skates?
No.
Shoes?
Bowling shoes?
I feel like it's so good in house shoes.
Oh.
Well.
It's a good run.
Woo!
Late five pin.
That was disgustingly great.
That's so good.
Nevermind.
No chance.
Could have bounced.
Why are you carrying so much?
Where's your split?
Oh, open.
How?
Let's go.
There's life.
That was on purpose.
Why?
It was so good.
Still threw a 17, silly goose.
Oh.
Now it hooks.
This match is over.
There's still a chance.
No freaking way.
That was the dumbest strike I've ever seen in my life.
That's the clippable-est strike I've ever had in my life.
All right, you can high five, but I want to face it.
That's what $12,000 gets you.
Hit!
I said hit!
Not not hit.
That was so good off my hand.
There's life.
I want to try this ball left-handed.
Out of curiosity.
Do it again.
All right.
On the spare.
All right, he's back in it.
Come on, we got to lock in.
We're going a really good 130 game.
Yeah.
One good one.
That's good.
What?
Oh, yeah.
What?
I knew it off my hand.
That's that lefty carry for you.
I knew it off my hand.
Oh, yeah.
Yes.
No.
We already won.
I think.
No.
Wait, maybe.
Dang it.
Yeah, your best shot of the match is in the field.
Finally, plush to finish for you guys.
Final score, 170 to 150.
I think we didn't get a fair assessment of what this ball could have been doing 30 years ago,
because this ball is used.
I'm sure it has a thousand games on it and probably a couple gallons of oil inside of it.
So I think it's pretty fair.
I think it's a crappy ball.
He's biased.
Look at his patch.
Biased.
All right.
That's all for the $12,000 bowling ball video.
Subscribe.
Okay, bye.
