Lisa opens up the July 2021 Wool Subscription Box and shares all the goodness that's within!
Hey everyone, it's Lisa from Primitive Gatherings, and it's time to unveil box number 16,
which would have been our July box. So this is a subscription box that we offer to our customers.
It is a box that comes six times a year every other month. So when there's openings,
make sure you jump in if you are interested in these. All right, so we always give you a nice
sheet telling you what's all in your box, and a little love letter from me. So let's dig in.
So in this box there's an ongoing project called Pennies from Heaven. So these are the pennies,
and you will get four of them each box, and you get to decide which way you're going to do your
pennies. Are you going to do a flower, or are you going to do circles? So here are the circles that
kind of make a flower, and these would be like for if you're a beginner, these are the ones that maybe
I would do. And we are almost done with this project. So a couple more boxes, and we will be
putting this together. So this is the flower version with the fancy stitches and bullion knots.
So remember, you don't get eight, you only get four, and you can do them either way.
All right, so next up is this cute little bee caddy to hold your scissors, your needles, your
little clips, and here he is. So there's a pocket there, there's a little stuffing
for your pins and needles. Here's the back side, and I love it that one of you,
Sherry Smith, downsized this and made them for all her people at the retreat. So that was a really
cool idea, Sherry. Then next up we have another penny mat. Now I know you loved making Pennies
from Heaven, so I thought I would throw in a whole project that you can get done at one time
instead of waiting for the ongoing project. So I came up with sunflower penny mat here,
and all the beautiful wools there, and this is what she looks like when it's all done. Again,
you can make them like this, or you could fuse this onto a piece of wool as well and make it
solid in the back. All depends on what you want to do. So many different ways we can do everything
here. All right, then our big ongoing project is called Dragonfly Dreams. Now in this box,
you're only getting three of them because our shipment didn't come in in time. So you will
make up this block at the end, the fourth one. So in this kit, I do want to point out that this
little piece of flannel in the middle was omitted from your kit, so it is coming in your September
box. So look for that piece of flannel in your September box. And then a nice little tiger lily
block as well. So this is the ongoing project that will take two years to complete, so that's
why you're just getting it block by block. All right, what else do we have? We have a little
sewing cookie stamp. Now I think they come in scissors, needles, and thread. So there were
three different ones of these. So if you want to collect them all, I'm sure we could find those
for you. But I did them on shortbread cookies. That's in the recipe right here. So shortbread
cookies. I did put some photos up on my blog or my Stitch with Lisa Bongean group if you want to
find those. And then the other one is the broccoli salad. All about the vegetables. Got to get that
green in. Too bad I can't get my husband to eat that. And then our card this time is the scroll
stitch. So this is a fun little kind of a knotty looking stitch. So make sure you try that on
something. And then of course, the beloved caramels. This is a Patterns for Dragonfly Dreams.
And then you're going to get in this box a little flyer about the gathering, which is our new
retreat house here at Primitive Gatherings. So get a group together or come by yourself. We'll all
make some new friends to hang out with. So it is really fun when we get somebody that comes by
themselves. So don't feel like you have to have a bunch of friends to come. All right, and then we
have another flyer about our quilting service and our Berninas. And that concludes box number
16, which is our July box. So we hope you enjoy it and I can't wait to see you again.
