Shelter Me: Meet Shaky from the Pennsylvania SPCA!

In today's Shelter Me, we're introducing you to Shakey. Well, this sweet boy really could shake up your life in the best possible way. Here's our Cecily Tynan with his story. For this week's Shelter Me, Sarah Brown is here from the Pennsylvania SPCA. Again, thank you. With this handsome boy, Shakey, oh, he is so sweet. Tell me about him. We love Shakey at the shelter. I think I just have to preface everything by that. He is a staff and volunteer favorite. He is a 10-year-old pity mix who's actually been with us for about five months, which is just mind-blowing to us because we love him so, so much. He is an event rock star. We take him to almost all of our off-site events. He loves meeting people, being out and about. In the car, he just rolls up in a ball and snores. He's open to meeting kids, dogs, probably cats. So he can live in most rooms. And other than just being an old guy, we don't really know why he's overlooked. Yeah, he's a little skinny. Was he a stray? Yeah, he came in as a stray. He was very emaciated. You could see every bone in his body. But our veterinary team is amazing. Of course, he's looking and feeling a lot better now. We'll give you lots of treats, Shakey. Yes, we will. Oh, thank you. You're a nice boy. So what would be your ideal home for him? Yeah, he can live in most homes. We just ask that everybody bring everyone who lives in your home and any current dogs just to make sure. But he's never met anybody or anything that he hasn't liked. So just a home that is comfortable with a senior guy, just keeping up with regular vet care. But really, he just wants a soft place to sleep in my head. He likes his pets. So what should somebody do if they see Shakey? I hear you're snoring there, and they're thinking about adopting him. Yeah, just head to our shelter. We open every single day from 12 to 630. Awesome.
