Joked a lot about AI being like the Terminator out there,
but most Americans agree with us
saying AI is bad for society,
while two-thirds oppose more data centers in the U.S. It's
according to a new ABC News-Washington Post-Ipsos
poll released minutes ago. Take a look at the
graphic. Purple over here, that's the bad side.
The light purple is the good side. And the
generational divide may be surprising to some.
Younger Americans are more likely to say AI is
bad for society than older Americans.
That's in the dark purple again. Now, 65% of people under 30
say it is bad, along with 59% of those between 30 to 39.
A slimmer majority of Americans 40 and
older say AI is bad for society.
So as you get older, they're like, eh, whatever. The ABC News
poll revealed people remain skeptical of AI's benefits
and believe possible consequences of AI
are a high risk, like computer hacks, job losses,
and God forbid, something worse than that. Still,
people are split when it comes to the personal impact of AI.
50% of those polled say, so half,
say AI is good for them. 49% say it's bad for them.
So it's a give or take, Allianz.
50-50 split there. All right, Matt, thank you.
